Why did you get rid of the old school original episodes of Doctor Who? Why?!! I understand removing the new ones but the old ones too!!! Have a heart! Don’t be a daleck!!! What financial deal did you make to remove these?

I am still paying 7.95 for Netflix till October, That is the only reason I am keeping it. I don’t like the way they shut down after two episodes. I can’t find anything to watch. HULU PREMIUM is much better I can lay in bed all night without getting up after two episodes.

The service rep was nice, but as I was about to ask him another question, he said he had to go, his supervisor was flagging him to take another call.

I was shocked after finding out somebody from Spain hacked my account and closed my account 1÷29÷2016.
I called customer service and they didn’t know what happened until last minute. How could this happen!
Be careful guys! Check your account and watch out your credit card theft!

I’ve been a customer since April 2008, and honestly, they’ve gotten better as the years rolled on. I started out with 3 DVD’s at a time, which cost about $ 15 from what I remember. Streaming wasn’t even thought of yet. My first disc was Saw IV. Love that series!
Fast forward to present day, and I’m on the 2 disc plan & HD streaming for about $ 20. I think it breaks even being that streaming is unlimited, there are tons of movies out there, and they produce their own exclusive shows like one of my favorites, Orange Is The New Black.
I’ve been able to catch up on shows that I was late to the table with, like Downton Abbey, The Walking Dead, and Breaking Bad, THE BEST SERIES EVER! Binge watching at its finest.
Of course you sometimes receive scratched or even broken discs, and they’ve always sent out a replacement ASAP. Another positive perk? If the movie at the top of your queue isn’t available in your area, they immediately send out the next movie on your list plus an extra movie regardless of the amount of discs you have in possession. Nice touch!
I had no problems redeeming two gift cards given to me as my account is always active. I’m surprised that their accounting system can’t hold the credit if you put your account on hold, as a fellow Unilocaler wrote.
The only problem I encounter is the total unavailability of certain movies, some old, some new, and sometimes certain seasons of an entire series. Must be a contract or licensing issue?
I love movies but don’t care to watch them in the theaters and pay $ 12 for a single ticket and another $ 10 for snacks. I’ll take the comforts of home any day. Thanks Netflix!

We’ve been a DVD customer of Netflix for many years. For years we considered the service an exceptional value. In early 2015, the service started to slow down considerably which made it less valuable. When I complained, the phone rep told me that was the way things were going to be and they were going to give us an extra DVD for the same price in recognition of the diminished value of their service. We got an extra DVD one time and then never again so it stayed a much slower service for the original price. In the first part of 2016 I noticed we had received no DVD’s for about a week. When I called to complain I was promised a contact from management to resolve this new problem and the old one, but no contact came. Instead, I received 4 DVDs the following business day. A few days later we started returning the DVDs. Now we have sent all 4 of those DVDs back yet our account doesn’t reflect any returns online and we have received no more DVDs since the 4-​pack. I called earlier to complain and was met by a very nice, but very defensive and rigid customer service rep and then her manager. Neither seemed to understand or care that their services have become less valuable or that it matters. Instead I was repeatedly lectured about what I could do on my end to better inform Netflix so that they might trouble-shoot.but carefully made no promises to fix the slow downs and stoppages, or look into what might be done to make up for the lost value of their service.
So, what seems clear to us is that Netflix has reduced their commitment to maintain demand and customers for their DVD service. There is a significant reduction in the value to us, the customer… both in DVD services and in personnel to communicate well with us.
We get it. Take it or leave it. It’s not quite a 1-​star service yet, but it’s getting there quickly. We’re actively looking for entertainment alternatives now.

I do like netflix! Bt it sucks that they only play movies, shows that they want! Where the hell is 2012, all the old Disney movies??? World war z??? Sooo many movies out there that are just amazing that you guys dnt even play? Independence Day? Come ON NETFLIX!!! WTF??? Please bring these movies back!!! I dnt pay each month to see the same movies shows each an every time!!!

I used to love Netflix. I then had a playback problem totally unrelated to my wifi. However, when I called Netflix they offered no solution, no credit, no apology. As a Bay Area and Los Gatos former resident, I am so disapointed with Netflix. In fact, I have chosen to arbitrate pursuant to the contract. The minimum award is $ 1,000, whether I am awarded $ 5 or $ 500, they must pay me $ 1,000. All I asked for was a credit for a couple of months. Now they will have to pay the American Arbitration Association $ 3,400 for arbitration and $ 750 to register. Then they will have to pay their lawyers, and me. All over a couple months credit. Seems like bad business practice to me.
Netflix is welcome to get a hold of me via Unilocal or email. They have my arbitration demand. Unfortunately, it appears they would like to litigate.

First, I would like to acknowledge that Netflix has done a ton of things right, which is why they’ve taken down Blockbuster and Hollywood Videos and continue to be one of the more dominant streaming services; However, more recently a few situations have come up that seek dire attention:
(1) «New» content on Netflix is not all that new. I had heard that Netflix signed an agreement with HBO and some of the other premium content providers to allow the newer content to funnel thru them first and then it would trickle down to Netflix; the biggest problem with this is that Netflix doesn’t carry a lot of newer, big releases; instead, it carries the newer «release to DVD» format movies.
(2) Redeeming gift cards is a nightmare. My parents have an Apple TV and they were given one month of free service thru that; However, there’s a huge technical glitch where you cannot use an iTunes account with gift cards; The problem is, they don’t openly state this on gift cards and I purchased two as Christmas gifts. Trying to contact tech support was a task and when I finally got someone they ended the chat on me after stating they would wait to see if their proposed solution worked. The issue is it didn’t.
(3) Technical Glitches. On some episodes of Criminal Minds and the Flash I get error messages that the content cannot be loaded due to technical issues. This is constant on other devices like my computer as well. There’s also a technical glitch when redeeming gift cards online where you get an error «The payment system is unavailable right now. Please try again later.»
(4) Apple TV interface. Netflix «updated» the Apple TV interface and it is a HUGE step backwards. The order makes NO kind of sense — for instance, why are the shows I’ve watched recently four rows down instead of at the top? It also makes it more cumbersome to find new content as you used to be able to browse by genre and now that’s become incredibly complicated.

Love Netflix! Wish they had a better movie selection but the TV series make it worth it!

LOVE my Netflix but they really need to improve the search situation. Still, the original series are worth signing up for. The newest «Jessica Jones» is an awesome example. You can’t beat the value for the plethora of content to choose from.

I like Netflix. They go with the times that’s gradual wave they have to ride to stay in the business. They started off sending out dvd items, then some blu-​ray. After a while they shared deals with appliances that were sold like movie players. Wonder what else would be next. Streaming is always great.

I’ve had netflix for several years now and 100% satisfied. Their DVD and Blu-​Ray deliveries are always on time, never an issue. Streaming is always on point, never crashes. The online account and even payment methods are easy to manage, their online system is so streamlined, I’ve never had to contact them with any issues. Even their suggestions and notifications of new shows and movies I might like are also useful, props Netflix!

From Netflix Q2 results:
Netflix’s domestic streaming margin stood at 33.1% for the first three months of 2015, an improvement of 140 basis points over the previous quarter. The company had earlier stated that it intends to improve domestic streaming margins by 200 basis points per year but now believes that it can improve even further as a larger portion of global and original content costs will be absorbed by the company’s ever growing international territories going forward.
The reason Netflix is able to improve its margins is because it skimps on expensive content, instead acquiring cheaper, obscure and LOUSY filler content. If you go to Netflix’s «New Arrivals» or «Recently Added» sections, you’ll find the same content recycled OVER and OVER AGAIN. Apparently the words, «new» and «recently» have unusual meanings, not found in any dictionary.
Alternatives to Netflix abound around the web. And they are cheaper, free and much more interesting and fresh.

BE WARNED buying/​using Netflix gift cards!
We bought a $ 100 Netflix GC and have about $ 80 left on the balance after a month of service. Just found out today via Netflix chat/​help that when you enter a GC code into your account, Netflix considers that as a PURCHASE of future months of service until that $ amount runs out. There is NO way to pause or put on hold your account (not even for three months or less). Even if you CLOSE your account, they will still let you stream videos until your entire GC balance is used up (since they view it as you already paid for future months of service).
LESSON — DO NOT buy a large denomination Netflix GC unless you are darn darn darn sure you will be using it nonstop until the balance runs out.
