Never go back to this doctor. I came with strong pain and after a stomach surgery and I was diagnosed with a fissure. This doctor should have check me with his eyes to see that but NO! He stuck his fingers and another equipment until I SHOUTED AND SCREAMED and than he said– you have fissure. Well, thanks to him it might got worse.

Dr. Segall pretty direct about the diagnosis and the options available. Although the first indications of my symptoms appeared harmless, he strongly suggested further checking, which at the end saved my life.
In preparation for my surgery he made related matters a priority and guided me through any uncertainty. He is also quite thorough in clarifying the risks involved. He provided more than ample time and opportunity to answer all of my questions, and continued to support me during the days and weeks of post surgical recovery.

11 years later, Dr. Segalll deserves 5 stars.
My wife had another doctor performed a Hysterectomy that went very very bad, her colon stopped working, she had no Hope or will to live, plus
no love for doctors at all. To make a long story short, Dr. Segall took a chance and reconstructed her colon, he brought her life back.
When you are suffering, it’s hard for him to only tell you what you want to hear.
He knows his job, we give him 5 stars.

Oy! Apparently there are only a few proctologists in the South Bay. I think he uses this to his advantage as it appears that most people have been professionally prodded by him.
He is my husband’s doctor, not mine. Incidentally, the proctologist who I saw a dozen years ago was fabulous and I knew I loved him when I saw his vanity license plate of «rearadmrl» —get it– rear admiral? Brilliant. His name is Dr. Coughlin.
Dr. Segall needs to seriously work on his bedside manner. Instead of giving you the run down post exam, he does it as the exam is happening. He also seems to be pretty old school in that he is not at all up to date with minimally invasive surgery. It was shocking to hear his professional prognosis for my husband was the most extreme option.
It should be noted that I am both publicly and privately known for being completely anally fixated. I’ve been to multiple anal pap-​smears (yes, they do exist!) as a support for people who are HIV positive and had HPV. Like I said, I’m very anally versed, so Dr. Segall’s diagnosis immediately set off my anal Spidey-​sense.
It was confirmed that Dr. Segall’s diagnosis was, in fact, extreme and not completely accurate. Thank goodness we live in an area where there are world-​class colorectal/​proctologists!
Please seek a second (or third) opinion if you or someone you love receives a serious diagnosis from Dr. Segall.

Nice enough guy but office is slow to answer calls and he has a 48 hour cancellation policy. Move along and find another office.

If you have to go this kind of doctor, you have to go… Don’t expect a walk through a rose garden. I got a referral so I didn’t really know what to expect. I think Dr. Segall is great. He’s very knowledgeable and very thorough. Expect to answer questions you never thought would matter. And he’ll explain why he’s asking i.e. people of certain ethnicity may be more predisposed, etc. And Dr. Segall will ask you if you have any questions many times. I liked that he said Ok, now that I’ve completed the procedure, do you have any questions? He’s very knowledgeable about cancer statistics so when I asked «what’s the risk», he responded with solid information. His nurse Alma is so sweet and nurturing. She seriously made the experience more tolerable. She didn’t act like I had 3 heads when I kept asking her to repeat or explain in more detail what was expected of me. The only con… they have some kind of air freshener in the waiting area so if you are smell sensitive, tell them you want to stand outside or in the inside waiting seat by the scale.
