Our attorneys have nearly four decades of collective legal experience, and practice exclusively in estate planning, probate and trust law. Firm principal Douglas P. Established in 1981.

Douglas P. Barnes was admitted to the State Bar of California in 1981. Since then, he has limited his practice to the fields of estate planning, trust administration and probate, business law, trust and estates litigation, and related issues.

Judith Douglass has been a member of the State bar of California for twenty-​five years. Judy practices in trust administration, estate planning, and probate law.

Krystal Tate joined the firm in 2014. Krystal’s practice consists of estate planning, probate, trust administration, trust and estates litigation, and elder law.

Doug Barnes is a California-​licensed attorney and Certified Specialist with the California Board of Legal Specialization in Estate Planning, Trust, and Probate Law. This field of law also includes estate and trust administration, probate litigation, and elder law. He is in his 35^th year in this field of specialization.

Mr. Barnes received his B.A. in Criminology from U.C. Berkeley, his M.B.A. in Tax from Golden Gate University, and his Juris Doctor from California Western School of Law. He is admitted to practice law before all courts in the State of California, the U.S. Federal Court and the United States Tax Court.

Mr. Barnes maintains two offices, one in Los Gatos, California, and the other in San Luis Obispo.

Mr. Barnes is married with three children and enjoys golfing and amateur winemaking in his spare time.
