La Orquidea Salon & Spa

We just love this salon! I’ve known Niko and Steven for years following them from three other salons until they finally decided to open their own. They’ve become family! Shellac, waxes and pedicures are always done well. I’ve had my fair share of salon experiences and La Orquedia is our favorite!

I was visiting family for Thanksgiving in Monte Sereno and needed to get a badly torn fingernail re-​repaired after another nearby salon tried to fix it. That «fix» lasted maybe one day (they refused to do just one nail & I ended up having to get an entire manicure. Sigh). I had a totally different experience at La Orquidea. The woman at La Orquidea Salon looked at my natural nail which had torn even more (I thought she was going to have to just cut it off). She put a silk wrap on it along with some acrylic (her competitor wouldn’t do this for me when I asked). My repaired nail is still holding strong after 5−½ weeks! I expect it will hold until my natural nail grows out. I am thoroughly impressed with the quality of work at La Orquidea and can highly recommend them!

I love this salon! Steven has a class act salon! All of the girls and guys that work there are friendly and professional.
When I first started going to this salon,
I was warmly greeted, asked whAt kind of mani/​pedi I would like, and offered a beverage. Lily has been doing my gel manicures and they are always perfect! I highly recommend her for any type of manicure/​pedi, but her gel/​shellac manis are the BEST!

I never go to spa’s or get my nails done due to my profession. But for my wedding I had all the ladies in my family go. It was really fun and they were able to seat us all together which was unexpected and fun! They also worked on pedicures and manicures at the same time which cut down on time in the salon, always a plus! Beautiful job. I got a gel pedicure and gel manicure. Lasted through a week of hawaii!

The last 4 times have been a disaster. I went in there with my daughter and they just messed up our nails. The girl couldn’t speak English and she took her nails out and damage my daughters own nails. I was so pissed because the lady instead of apologizing she was trying to make us feel that we are stupid and it was our fault. Of course they were talking in Vietnamese and I’m pretty good in reading body language and they were not very nice to us. I will never come back.

Came here to commence an anniversary weekend with pedicures with my hubby. Was excited, not just because of the reviews, but because Orquidea means «orchid” – the primary flowers that adorned our wedding!
Service here was exceptional. I was able to make a reservation less than a week in advance. They made sure to seat us next to each other, and both of our nail techs (I had Helen, hubby had Lily) did an outstanding job. They were very accommodating when we were deciding whether or not to get paraffin. They also made great recommendations for color for our big toes.
Lastly – the icing on the cake – Lily did designs for both of us. For me, the tree from our ketubah, for the hubby, bear paws. Given the size of our toenails, not an easy task, and she put in extra time to make sure it was perfect.
We live almost a half hour away with no traffic, and will definitely make the trek out here often!

I’ve gone into this salon a few times, naturally I’m a complete procrastinator so I’m FINALLY leaving a review.
I love this place! Everyone is incredibly friendly and professional, it’s clean, it smells nice, and you actually feel welcomed! La Orquidea Salon is the kind of place that I would drive 20 minutes out of my way to come to because the experience and the ambiance are so worth it!
Lily has done my nails twice now and to sum it up in one word, WOW! (More words to follow).
Lily is amazing! She is the perfect combination of incredibly skilled and amazingly personable. She remembers you, she remembers the last design you had, and she encourages you to try something new and exciting. She loves her job and it shows in both the quality of her work and the interaction she has with whomever she’s working on.
Her attention to detail and the amount of pride she takes in her work is what takes the experience to the next level. Lily makes suggestions, isn’t afraid to try new things, and does her absolute best to make sure that the client leaves happy.
Aside from actually liking the designs themselves, the biggest comment I have received on my nails when Lily has done them has been «where did you go? Those are amazing, she did SUCH a good job! I need to see who you see!»
I have gotten my nails done at a lot of different places over the years but this is officially my favorite!
As if this place and Lily aren’t wonderful enough all on their own, they’re part of the Five Star Rewards Program — and who doesn’t love rewards?

I just had my nails done my Lily. This is one nice lady. I will definitely be back soon. She is amazing, very clean instruments which I tend freak out if they don’t come out of that sealed packet. Oh also you have to turn OFF your phone!!! Thank you thank you. I always am relaxing then some lady sits right down next to me going on & on about what she did the night before & how drunk she got really lady do I really need to hear that. TMI

Amazing ! Decided to come in the salon for a fill on my acrylic set and wanted to try something new and fun I saw on Pinterest for Halloween. I asked for fill on my French set and then shellac matte over that. I picked out this plum color thinking it would be fun for halloween. I got Mandy and she was great. She really worked hard to get the exact length and style of my nails that I wanted. (Super thin and square) Half way in between the fill I realized I had to pick up a kid I nanny for and bring her home. Mandy was super nice and understanding and said I could come back anytime that day and she would finish for me, that I could even come right before they close and she would finish the shellac. I paid in full. (for the full and the shellac add on it was $ 40)
I got back to the salon around 6:45 (they close at 7), and I was immediately seated with Mandy. But the salon was still super busy, helping about four other women. Mandy did three coats of the shellac color I choose and then put in the matte top coat. Now these are super fun. But I wish that they were lighter in color. I think the multiple coats in the plum color and then matte top coat made it super dark, so my supposed plum nails look black. But hey it’s October! The matte thing totally worked and gives my nails an almost velvet look to them! Super cool, excited to try this style again with Mandy but probably in a lilac or raspberry color next time !
I left around 7:25 but why we’re still helping three other women when I left! This place has amazing customer service.

I work down the street from here and always pass by. Needed a quick manicure during my lunch and saw on here that they have good reviews. Called and got an appointment 10 mins from when I called. Lily was amazing! I got the quick mani which with my new customer Unilocal discount was only $ 13.50 instead of $ 15. My nails looks amazing for only a 30 minute manicure and Lily was so precise and such a perfectionist!
Great atmosphere and beautiful inside! This is my new go to spot!

I’ve been to many salons, and I can confidently say that Orquidea is an all-​time favorite!
My gel manicures and eyelash extensions are PERFECT every time. So perfect, they are compliment-​worthy. Steven and Tracy are amazing; they know me by voice when I call in for an appointment and are always so cheerful and welcoming. Steven is probably the most consistent manicurist I’ve ever had. His particular attention to detail is unsurpassed (which is probably why my nails always look great, all the time… even when my busy schedule won’t accommodate stopping in every two weeks). Annie is also fantastic– she’s so gentle and knowledgeable in her eyelash niche.
I can’t imagine visiting another salon for any service (I’m actually seeing Simone for a stylish cut this week!). I could countine my rave review, but would probably lessen my ability to book appointments with my favorite crew.

They are very good. I am pretty picky when it comes to having my nails done and I have tried other places in San Francisco non of which has been as good a here. I go there every 3 weeks regularly for Mani, Pedi and it’s usualy Gel French. I have had differnt people and everytime they have turned out to be amazing. :)

Not a great experience
I recently went to La Orquidea and I was not impressed at all. For the prices they charge the level of service did not equate.
The women who did my nails were unfriendly and made the experience less than relaxing. Worst of all my nails were a mess 1 day after leaving a sticky residue. I am not sure what this was caused by.
I would not go back or recommend this nail salon, particularly at the prices they charge.

Love this place! I’ve seen several people here and I’ve always been happy. Clean, professional, and consistent.

Tracy fit me in for a quick color change at 9:15, they don’t even open until 10am! So accommodating, fast and great job.

Staff is very nice and helpful. Even when there was an issue with my appointment not being made correctly, they make sure that I am taken care of and make it right.
Pedicures are very clean and thorough, only downside is that I really like the jets in the water but they use a bag to cover the tub and take away all the waste with them so the jets aren’t possible.
Tracy is amazing for nails! I have never been able to find someone to do acrylic and make them look natural. Even after two weeks of growth, they still look good.

Always my favorite place to get my nails done! So relaxing, and all the girls do such a good job. Angie helped me today and she is so sweet. Isn’t my first time here and won’t be my last!

All the staff are professional, nice and accommodating. The salon is always clean and very relaxing. It is easy to make an appointment even though you don’t have to. I like having the same person each time so it’s easy to call up and request. The location is good always easy parking. I highly recommend La Orquidea Salon.

LOVE this place! SO clean, so friendly, and they do the best job! They have a great high end selection of gel and shellac polishes that last much longer than other salons I have been to! Love every time I come.
