Established in 1958.
Dr. Rom Karin has been practicing otolaryngology in Los Gatos since 1990. He received his medical degree from the UCLA School of Medicine in 1983. His internship in General Surgery was completed at Cedars Sinai Medical Center in Los Angeles. He completed his residency at The University of Iowa, Iowa City, Iowa in 1989. The University of Iowa is considered to be one of the nation’s best training programs in Otolaryngology-Head and Neck Surgery. Following residency, Dr. Karin was an American Cancer Society Clinical Oncology Fellow in Otolaryngology at the University of Iowa and remained on faculty with a focus on sinus disorders and pediatric otolaryngology until joining the physicians at Ear, Nose & Throat of Los Gatos in 1990.

Dr. Karin’s current focus is the area of nasal and sinus disorders, having traveled to Austria to obtain additional training in Endoscopic Sinus Surgery. He has had the honor of serving as Chairman of the Division of Otolaryngology at Good Samaritan Hospital, Chairman of the Insurance Review Committee of the Santa Clara County Medical Association and member of the Staff Executive Committee and Credentials Committee at Good Samaritan Hospital.
Dr. Karin is board certified through the American Board of Otolaryngology (1989), National Board of Medical Examiners (1984), and the State of California. He has remained active in medical societies such as American Academy of Otolaryngology-Head & Neck Surgery, California Medical Association, and Santa Clara County Medical Association.
Dr. Karin is married with 3 children. He enjoys mountain biking, hiking and skiing. His philosophy is to provide the most advanced techniques with a compassionate and caring attitude to help his patients with the
