Joceliza Gonzaga Chaudhary, MD

Dr Chaudhary is very kind and listens to you. She is very thorough in explaining things as well. Only bad thing is that she ran about 30 minutes behind, however she did apologize. Her office was pretty nice as well. I would recommend seeing her.

I can’t imagine a better doctor than Dr. Chaudhary. My two daughters and I have been seeing Dr. Chaudhary for about four years now at her old office and are looking forward to continued great care at her new office (15 425 Los Gatos Blvd, Suite 120 in Los Gatos) in 2015. Her support staff are very professional (in fact Luis even remembers my name every time I come in).

I had an appointment scheduled with her. Waited over an hour and a half. The office staff was pleasant however I had to leave due to my work schedule. The staff stated is has a tendency to run late. I went to see another doctor in her office that has better time management and is concerned about their patience time.

Dr. Chaudhary has been my PCP for more than ten years, and continues to provide excellent care. She does not seem rushed and listens (patiently!) to what is sometimes a long list of symptoms. She is ready to provide referrals to specialists when needed. I would recommend her to anyone looking for a Primary Care Doctor.
Staff performance and ability to return phone calls is pretty spotty, though. I recently had someone try to remove the thermometer from my mouth while running past me — she missed and had to come back for it.

Dr. Chaudhary has been a wonderful doctor. She was my husbands GP and I switched to her in an emergency situation where my own doctor was not responding to multiple emails and messages. Dr. Chaudhary was able to fit me in the same day I called. She has been responsive, understanding and caring. It is nice that there are multiple doctors in the practice including a few specialists so you don’t have to go far for a referral. I am so thankful I switched to Dr. Chaudhary.

Dr. Chaudhary Is awesome!!! Must say she is very helpful and doesnt rush you out of her office. Loved her.
As for the STAFF! They seem all really upset at the world it seems like they hate their jobs. I think they forgot that they all work at a clinic. Very Unprofessional. If i had to rate their customer service it would be a ZERO.

I LOVE Dr Chaudhary! She is the Dr for our two young daughters. She has been everything I would have wanted in my children’s physician… caring, informative, and asks me questions about them and listens to my concerns.

Dr. Chaudhary herself is great. She is responsive, seems quite knowledgeable, listens well, and is not afraid to make a referral when the presenting problem is outside of her realm of expertise. I was referred to her by a satisfied friend, I liked her myself, and I have sent my daughter to see her. These have all been happy patient-​professional associations with a well qualified and gracious physician.
But the office staff! As others have noted, some staff members are rude (Luis, in particular), and the general tone of the office is one of understaffed, overworked, and overwhelmed assistants. Here’s one of several examples I could offer. When my daughter was home for a vacation from college, Dr. Chaudhary referred her to a specialist who proved to be unavailable. Seeking to get another suitable referral during the time frame in which my daughter was home, I contacted the doctor’s office on Monday. I called every day that week, as did my daughter on two occasions. We left a message on the nurse assistant’s message machine, and when there was no response, we talked daily to the people in the front office who said they would communicate with Dr. Chaudhary’s right hand assistant. Not until Friday did we finally get a response. By this time it was too late to matter in terms of my daughter seeing a specialist. What a shame. This is not the first such experience our family has had. I love Dr. Chaudhary, but I wonder if it is worth it the hassle of dealing with Samaritan Family Practice where she works. They make the simplest thing like a referral into a week long headache.

0 star’s for the front staff. They are condescending and rude. I had an issue regarding approval of a procedure that wasn’t written up correctly. Granted, that was not their fault but to try to speak with my doctor or her nurse was difficult. When I asked to speak to a supervisor, this one male individual would say certainly, let me transfer you, knowing that she would’nt be there for the day when I needed an answer the same day. Whenever I call I dread that he is going to answer the phone. The staff alone has me pondering whether to find another practice. If they are going to make it difficult to see the doctor then why bother going?
4 stars for Dr. Chaudhary. I like her, she listens, she won’t automatically diagnose you to the point where you feel stupid for going and will explore what all of your symptoms might mean. She will refer you to a specialist without her ego involved, I never felt rushed and would love to continue to have her as my doctor. Her nurse is rather dry too, you really have to be assertive and ask questions when it comes to your health. This is their job, I learned that it is my job for me to communicate everything with them, you can’t take it for granted that they know what is wrong with you. Funny that as you get older, see your parents age, or have a health scare that you now realize how important a good doctor is.
It’s a love hate thing for me, my health is the priority so I suck it up when it comes to the horrible front desk staff. I think they know that and I feel like they it’s their ‘leverage’ when it comes to dealing with patients. Lucky for them they haven’t seen me pissed off… yet!!!

As I’ve seen Dr. Chaudhary more, I’m not as impressed as I was before. I feel like she expresses too much of her person opinion rather than her professional opinion. Although I do appreciate different points of view on a topic, I don’t want my doctor’s personal opinion to get in the way of what I think is right for my body or for taking care of my son.

She is one of the best doctors in San Jose! She will go out of her way to try to help you as a patent and make you feel cared for.

I give Dr Chaudhary NO STARS the only reason it shows 1 is because you have to pick something. She needs to go back to school she does not care about her patients she is just in it for the money. I went to her for over a year. Telling her I had heart palpitations and that I was always feeling tired an had flu symptoms , She told me that I just need to exercise and lose a little weght. How can I excercise when somedays I could not even get out of bed. I finally had to go to emergency because My heart was racing I thought I was having a heart attack, With just them hearing my symptoms they ran test to check my throid and founsd that I had Hypothyroidism .
And Dr Chaudhary could not figure this out?
So I suffered for a year because she could not figure it out?
She would tell me its just a virus… Then I took my 10 yr old daughter in for a sore throat and it would not go away after 2 weeks so I took her in again and She said it was just a virus (her favorite word). So I took my daughter to acute care and they found that she had strep throat. This is serious, if untreated it could effect the heart later in life.
Then the worst of all I found out that my Niece was seen her, she had just found out that she had stage 4 cancer, And again after a year of going to doctor Chaudhary telling her that something was wrong and she did not feel well, She told my niece that she needed to exercise and AGAIN she told her it was a virus. … And they way she found out was from her dentist, she described how she was feeling and after 10 mins her dentist told her that she had a tumor in her nasal passage maybe if Dr. Chaudehary had paid more attention maybe they could have caught the Cancer before it was stage 4. she should have sent her for some kind of testing. My niece told her she had ringing in her ears and that she had sinus trouble and she did not send her for any test at all. This is outrageous and she should not be practicing medicine. I hope there are not more victims out there. It angers me that my nie
ce is dealing with cancer now which may have been prevented if only the Dr had paid more attention… This angers me these are live she is dealing with… Ugh!

Maybe this review is unfair as I didn’t actually see the doctor. I called twice to try to make an appointment. Both times, the person I spoke with was indifferent. Appointments were two weeks out and when they found out I was a new patient, that moved it out even further. I just didn’t feel they wanted my business. I hope this review will encourage the doctor to review her office staff.

Dr. Chaudhary is fabulous… she has earned all five of the stars that my fellow Unilocalers have given her. I chose Dr. Chaudhary based on the online reviews I saw, and now it’s time to return the favor for the next person who’s looking for a good doctor. I’ve seen her twice now, and both times she has been friendly, professional, and genuinely caring. She manages to be both reassuring and realistic… a great combination. She took extra time with me to walk through a whole litany of issues, then even stopped a few more minutes to chat about common interests on the way out. I never felt rushed or uncomfortable like you do in some doctors’ offices.
After dealing with a rather unsympathetic doctor recently, Dr. Chaudhary’s pleasant bedside manner is a breath of fresh air. You walk away thinking, «I’d like to be friends with that woman…».
The office, as a whole, leaves a bit to be desired, but it’s definitely worth it to see this gem of a doctor.

I travel from the Pleasanton area all the way to Dr. Chaudhary’s office. Why?
Because she is THAT GOOD.
She listens but she also advocates. When I met her, she was just out of residency and yet she correctly ID’ed a condition that 3 other doctors had completely missed. Nor was this a «one time deal.» She did it 3 times, saving me pain, meaningless treatments and time.
Her most effective feature is that she has a way of looking at you that says «Come on, you HAVE to do this.»
Incredibly dedicated and a complete professional!

Dr. Chaudhary is a gem of a doctor. I have been going to her office for about 10 years. I have recommended her to other people. She is young, but very grounded and very warm. She does not make you feel rushed and she will take the time to look something up to double check on things. She really seems to care about you. Her support staff is very accessible if you need help over the phone. Never had a problem getting in right away if I had something urgent.
Update: I removed a star because the office has kind of faltered at handling phone messages. It can take days to get the Dr. call you back when you phone her. Also, the office messed me up once by not providing the refill for a prescription for A WHOLE WEEK. I requested it on Monday and come Friday I called and asked what happened and they told me it would be done. Well, it wasn’t. I had to go into the pharmacy over the weekend to get an advance of a 3 pills to tide me over until the Dr.‘s office was open. on Monday, which meant another trop to th pharmacy.
EDITED TO ADD: Only problem is getting the doctor on the phone. Sometimes the support staff is subpar, meaning they neglect to call in a refill and don’t call back when they promised to.

ITA with the previous posters. Dr. Chaudhary was assigned to me as a PCP and she actually called me as soon as she reviewed my chart because the asthma treatment I was on wasn’t working. She was concerned and brought me in and put me on another treatment that has made a world of difference. My husband and I are pretty tough to impress but now he’s also her patient because we both think she is a wonderful physician. She followed up after recent analysis and made sure my specialist knew about the results from her office. When my kids outgrow the pediatrician, hopefully Dr. Chaudhary will still be practicing locally and you bet they’ll go to her.

I agree with every single thing Amber mention. Dr Chaudhary is wonderful, caring and LISTENS. She doesn’t seem to rush through appts and didn’t have a problem referring me to a specialist when I needed one.

Dr. Chaudhary is an angel. She is one of those special family doctors who treats you like a human being, not just another «chart». She listens, she advises and she is open to your knowledge and feedback about yourself. I initially found her on another site (
), and she has a bevy of loyal patients. She has a gentle touch and caring demeanor and you don’t leave feeling «violated» after a pelvic exam (I am sure she is gentle with the fellas too ;-). She doesn’t mind following up with phone calls if need be. She is okay with you having more than one issue to discuss per visit (I think I had a dozen issues to discuss on my first visit). She is knowledgeable, but isn’t a know-​it-​all kind of physician (you know, those types that think they know more about you than you do and they aren’t willing to listen or worse, they just dismiss your input outright). She will not only listen to you, but will go do research or ask her peers for advice if need be. And she is in with my insurance (Blue Cross)!
There is some room for improvement in the practice where she works (Samaritan Family Practice). The front office staff is always young and on the unprofessional/​inexperienced side. Generally, I think this office sees too much staff turnover, but there are at least a couple familiar faces each time I go. They have done some remodeling that has made the place look much better, but they can’t seem to keep up with the mystery stains on the waiting room furniture. It sort of reminds me of movie theater seats (you know, you don’t really want to look at them that closely, just sit down and try to forget about it!) However to have such a fine doctor caring for me is worth a few «aesthetic» sacrifices.
