My teenage daughter is going through the acne stage. We had seen Dr. Schmidt in the past with my older two children, so I called to schedule an appt. to see him again. The office staff told me about IDN, and it seemed too good to be true. Upload some pictures and get a diagnosis? Seriously? Well, that’s exactly what happened. Dr. Schmidt reviewed what I submitted and had a prescription sent to Costco for us to pick up. I really liked not having to wait 3 weeks for an appt. The acne was a pretty simple diagnosis, so I’m not sure how the process would go with something more complicated. I would definitely use this service again!

Very convenient, good service & follow up, a correct diagnosis. What more can I say? I will definitely use again (although I hope I won’t need to!)

This service is awesome. I developed a red mark on my leg. Normally I probably wouldn’t have gone to the doctor and just worried about it. This service allowed me to obtain a diagnosis without having to leave my home. The diagnosis was perfect and set my expectations perfectly saying it would take 2 – 4 weeks to be cleared up. I will definitely use this again and would highly recommend it.

I was so excited to use this service: I had just come home from a vacation & had developed a horrible rash. It was the weekend, so I logged on, created an account, completed the questionnaire & uploaded my pics of the rash.
Monday morning came and I was worse, so I called my former dermatologist in Walnut Creek. They could see me so I decided to bite the bullet and make the 130 mile round trip. They diagnosed me with «Hot Tub Folliculitis». 36 hours into the course of antibiotics and I feel so much better already!
Just now, I received a «diagnosis» from the Internet Dermatology Network doctor, Doctor Miller. He diagnosed me with something totally different (insect bites) & told me to come in for a cortisone injection.
So…I’m pretty sure his diagnosis is wrong. Plus, it took them two days to get back to me.
I’m super-​disappointed. More in the technology then the people behind it.

I wish all my Dr appt were done this way. I had weird rash on back of my neck that wouldn’t go away. Then I remember last time I was at Dr Schmidt’s office I pick up IDN card. So on Saturday AM I went on the site and sent Dr Schmidt my Schmidt also with few photos. Didn’t think I was going to hear back until Monday but to my surprise I got a response from him in few hours. He said I had eczema and sent me a prescription cream. Within days my rash went away and my skin is back to normal. All I can say is WOW!!! It really is perfect for someone like me who doesn’t have enough time in the day. I will definitely use this service again.

This is such a great service. I caught a bad case of what I was pretty sure was poison oak. I sent my pictures to Dr Schmidt and he confirmed and responded within the day and I had my prescription sent online immediately to begin the relief.
The service was so convenient and easy to use, I will definitely use it again.

This service worked great for us when my daughter, who is about an hour away at college, had a flair up of a chronic rash. It would’ve been really difficult to get her to Dr Schmidt’s office, plus he is always really booked up bc he is such a good doctor! So we registered with IDN (which was probably the most cumbersome part which is what keeps it from getting a fifth star!) but now that that is done and we can easily just log on, I’m sold. Within hours the dr had looked at our photos and the prescription he recommended was waiting at the pharmacy. I think this is a great option!

This internet dermatology process worked great – so much better than we could have imagined.
My wife had an extremely itchy rash on her back which she thought might have just been insect bites. As it became worse, we took a couple of photos and uploaded them about 8 PM on a Tuesday evening. We were totally amazed when Dr. Schmidt responded within a couple of hours with the diagnosis and prescription. She had shingles, and the prompt diagnosis and commencement of the antiviral medication quickly stopped this from spreading further.
This is a great service that we would recommend to anyone. It sure beats spending all evening sitting in an E.R. or urgent care facility.

When I first heard about this site from a friend I was skeptical at best. But when I woke up with a rash and was unable to get in to see my doctor any time soon I decided to give idn a try. At first, I was concerned about privacy and confidentiality as well as the doctor’s ability to evaluate my rash online, but the website was easy to navigate and Dr. Schmidt sent me a response with a diagnosis within a few hours. It was all very professional and efficient.

This on-​line dermatology site saved me a lot of hassle and grief, on actually two occasions last month — and I came across it by accident, by Googling «on-​line dermatology san jose.»
My wife woke up with a very itchy rash all over her back. She couldn’t get in to see any dermatologist quickly, so we tried this web site out of desperation. Their Home Page stated: «Visit the dermatologist of your choice on-​line and receive diagnoses and treatment recommendations within hours.» Well, that’s exactly what happened. And it was well worth the $ 65 charge just to get a doctor’s diagnosis so quickly! The rash was extremely itchy and was driving my wife crazy trying not to scratch!
I took three fairly sharp photos, uploaded them to the site, and filled-​out a little information that same morning. We received a diagnosis later that afternoon, explaining the rash was a common «Eczema.» The local dermatologist she had selected (at the site) also wrote her a few paragraphs of ‘patient instructions’ and included a couple of recommended medications, an antibiotic and an ointment.
I immediately paid the $ 65 using PayPal, what with being thrilled to get such a fast solution. I did have to specify my closest drug store location, and enter their Fax number, before IDN sent a prescription for the medications. No big deal though! An hour later CVS called and said the drugs were ready for pickup.
The medication worked well, in a week the rash was much improved. I reported these results back to the doctor since he asked for followup. All these transactions took place at the web site — very simple. We’re both happy!
The following week I suddenly got a similar itchy rash all over both of my legs. I didn’t even try to make an office visit this time, just used this same web site again. And it was the same story as my wife. Within 24-​hours (this time) I received a diagnosis of «Hives» and a recommendation for a prescription antihistamine. Paid the $ 65 again, and the nearby CVS pharmacy called within the hour. Itchiness and much of the rash were gone in under a week.
So in both cases this same doctor was right-​on. We could have seen our primary care doc much more quickly, but preferred seeing a ‘real’ dermatologist because rashes seemed serious. Seems all of those guys are very booked-​up in San Jose, don’t know why! Nothing bad I can report for this site. $ 65 seems cheap to me for such rapid service. I’m especially happy that the rashes turned out to be fairly minor problems, but at the time they seemed scary.
