This place is awesome! They have a wide variety of quality products. The staff is knowledgeable and friendly and always willing to answer my questions. The manager has been there for years and I recognize the faces of his employees as well– something I look for in any business I frequent.
I appreciate being acknowledged and asked if I need help – hello??? I don’t interpret this as harassment or suspicion.
Chances are this store will have what you’re looking for!

I love this store… Sometimes all you need is to get some advice, and I ask the manager JT. He is very courteous, helpful, and.knowledgeable. He has been there for over 10 years, and that says ALOT. Most people do not stick around in retail, but he is very honest and and treats it as his own, That being said, Miss N’s review is shallow, and paranoid at best– Get a reality check lady and stop posting bad things about good people– You should perhaps, self-​evaluate.

I have been coming here for long time. I have to disagree with the other Unilocalers about the service being aloof or inattentive. If I needed help in the past I go get someone without being harassed. I hate being harassed. Last time I was here I was asked 2 times in 2 minutes if I needed help. Not good. Don’t like that at all. If I need help I will ask. This is a small store and I don’t think it is appropriate for the employees to have to be Right There, since they are already within eye sight, no matter were they stand.
The customers that are complaining I think are complaining more towards the attitude of the employees. They are friendly but have an attitude. They passively argue and are lacking in genuine friendliness.
I had a man one time tell me here that the product I wanted would be found at Longs cause it was a lower end product… well excuse me… He was wrong. I know he was trying to help but he was a dick about it.
Then when the girl was looking up my number she didn’t find it and I told her I was there somewhere and she kindly said «No, if you were, it would have pulled you up». Since I have been coming here for 10 years I know I was there and she was mistaken but for argument sack I just ignored her passively rude comment. I just paid and left. (she only looked up my maiden name and not my married name so…) yeah. I will still come here just knowing what to expect it has been like this for years. Its way better then the location on Stevenscreek, were you are stalked like a thief.

Haven’t purchased anything yet– just saw the name and wanted to check it out– this place is huge with an amazing selection for everything– tons of hair products and beauty products. What caught my eye is their eyelash selection– I am addicted to falsies and this will be my new go to spot for them. They have a great fake eyelash selection– also really really cute modern sunglasses for cheap! I can’t wait to come back here on pay day.

I’m going to look for another store for my needs. Every time I have a product that breaks or fails to work as it should (curling iron failure three times or hairspray nozzle several times) they give me a hard time trying to return it. Their standard answers are «they have never heard of that problem before», «they cannot take returns after 10 days», and «we have to ask the manager and they are not in now, your have come back». Moving on…

Beauty Avenue is conveniently located and yes they have a large selection of products. I’ve always found what I was looking for. BUT I do not like their new rewards program. Now they give you a cash register receipt… tiny…and expect you to hang on to it till you want to use the $ 10 reward. I’m sure they hope we all lose it. The rewards card worked fine, why change?

Great selection of beauty products — I may just be lucky but they always have exactly what I need. Their inventory is always stocked. The employees are always good at pointing me in the direction of the product I need — but everyone knows not to ask for hair advice — that’s what your hair stylist is for!

Highly recommend. There is one man who is almost always there behind the counter. He is especially helpful and knowledgable about the products. He even helped me find my «lost» sunglasses by looking at the recording, only to find out I had stuck them in my bag, oops. I always find the products that what I want and need. The discount program is a nice benefit. They have a lot of travel size products. The parking is fairly good, I usually get a spot right in front. I have been going here forever, 10 years? The girls are not as helpful as the guy, but they have never been rude.

Good selection, found what I was looking for ON MY OWN.
1) Staff was unfriendly, too busy putting on lipstick to say «hello»
2) allowed someone to cut in front of me when I was waiting first, and so tactless (completely ignored me when I was trying to hand her my items)
3) The girl who finally rang me up was talking about how she doesn’t work at Whole Foods anymore, she likes it better here, even though they only pay her $ 9 an hour. After she did not get a response from the other customer, she repeated herself again!
WTH is wrong with their staff?

I LOVE this store! I come here for all of my beauty needs. :) The employees are so helpful, sweet, and beautiful! They are very knowledgable of all the products they carry, and even the ones they don’t! They give their honest opinions about the quality of the products, and I always trust what they say. They have helped me purchase amazing products, and I couldn’t be happier with their suggestions. I definitely recommend this store. :)

I’ve come here for over 2 years, on and off, and have never been overwhelmed by either incredibly rude or helpful behavior, except for tonight. I LOVE the Dermalogica skin care line but don’t really know what I need so I walked in and talked to the guy I recognize as always being at the store (has been very helpful in past visits too)…told him that my skin felt congested and that I needed help. He listened attentively and then made three recommendations and then would not let me buy one because it would have done me more harm than good at this point… talk about caring about the customer over the bottom line. Very refreshing experience after the other poor customer experiences I had (with Comcast) this week. Big Like!

I like the selection, I like the price and I love the reward card that doesn’t expire that gets me an average of $ 10 off each time I go shopping. I don’t come in frequently but when I do, I stock up… really stock up. I buy for the whole family and then some.
It’s good but why it isn’t great is every time I come here, the employees look at me like I’m going to steal the place. After coming here for years and spending thousands of dollars, you would think that they would know me by now. It’s not a deal breaker but it’s room for improvement that would be a nice touch. Or if theft is an issue with the store, secure the store better so that your regular shoppers are made to feel more comfortable shopping here.

I come here because of the customer service. If you are price oriented, then the better deals are on-​line. I come here because the staff is especially helpful. They have provided great advice on how to color, types of color, how to get the red out, best way to condition and best straighteners for the value.
As far as price, they are not steep but they are not cheap. Consequently, I come for the advice and guidance. Gratefully, I’ve never had a negative experience here.

I have shopped here many times over the years. In general, they are pretty dry, but I have noticed that when you ask for help on something, they really do try to help out. A few weeks ago, I was looking for a certain kind of hair dye (since I have allergies) I didn’t ask him name (my bad) but the male there really went the extra mile to help me by even pulling up ingredients on the computer to make sure the dye had nothing in it that I would be allergic to. I thought that was really great! Thank you guys!

I took a business trip to Los Gatos last week and the airline lost my bag that had all of my valuable skin care products! I was devastated! I checked this place out and glad i did! the girls were so sympathetic, helpful, and funny… they gave me enough samples of Murad to last a month! Love them and loved the store! thanks!

I agree with the other Unilocalers on this place — a wide selection of products but really horrible service. I’ve been shopping here only because they carry Loma products and I can’t find them anywhere else without driving way far away.
The staff is rude and inattentive every single time I go in there. Last time, one of the girls was stocking products and had boxes all over the floor, blocking the only way down that aisle. I stepped over her boxes to get to the nail files and she made a «tsk» sound because she was annoyed. Another time, the manager was gossiping with a staffer about a customer who wanted to return something and he was using some unprofessional language.
Their discount card is good, but is it worth being treated so rudely? Might have to buy my stuff elsewhere if they can’t make some changes to their attitude.

Good selection of products, and I like that they have a rewards card type thingy where if you spend over a certain amount, you get $ 10 off the next purchase. The people who work here are completely useless though. . I’ve stood in front of the register ready to check out with no one helping me for long periods of time. They border on barely civil and downright rude. Get it together people, you are in the customer service industry.

I go here because of the selection not the customer service. The girls that work here don’t know much if anything really about the products. Most of the time they are too busy talking to each other about their own hair or makeup that customers end up wandering the store asking each other for help.
They have a small salon in the back of the store however for as long as I’ve been a customer here I’ve never seen it open with stylists working.
I love the selection of product here — seriously it’s huge. Tools (flat irons, blow dryers, curling irons, brushes, etc.), hair care and skin care products and even nail care products and waxing supplies are sold here.
They do offer a frequent buyer card which is based on a points system. So you spend X amount of money and you get a couple of points. Once you hit 10 points you get a % off of of your next transaction.
They do have good sale prices on liters of shampoo and conditioner.

They have all of the normal stuff that you would find in a large beauty supply store, and also a selection of boutique candles and such. I wasn’t impressed with what they carried in terms of hair product brands. They didn’t have anything different or special, just your run of the mill lines, but tons of it. There were a few specific (and fairly popular) treatments that I asked for, and they did not carry them and didn’t seem like they had ever heard of them. They didn’t offer up any alternate suggestions either. Actually, they were quite rude, snobbish, and somewhat uninformed about products. I had to track one of the girls down way in the back, while she sat doing inventory and gossiping with another girl, every time I had a question. The guy that worked there was absolutely no help either. He was too busy loving himself. He really had a «we’re fabulous, and you are lucky to be in our store» attitude. Perspective dude, it’s a beauty supply store.
I will not purchase here again. There are too many other beauty supply stores to choose from, with great customer service and minus the tude.

Oh my gosh, that’s a lot of product. I currently have not enough hair to care about hair products, but I did manage to find every single tester of pomade, sculpting clay, or wax and smell it/​try to put it in my hair. I think American Crew is for dudes, but they have a whole line of tea tree oil products, including pomade, which I was just about ready to eat (I love the smell of that stuff).
They also have some Chocolate Soy Milk shampoo and Soy Pumpkin Spice shampoo that smells soooo goood. It smelled practically edible. But if I wanted my head to smell like a Peet’s Coffee, I’d just go work there again.
But, like I said, I have like, no hair. But I bought a brush for when I dye my hair, and my friend found some pure cocoa butter for her dry skin. The staff was aloof an uninformative, as every beauty supply store employee is wont to be. Prices were a little high (hello, Los Gatos), but the place was clean and well-​organized. My only complaint is that it really echoes in there, and some crazy lady was yelling at her mom on her cell phone, and I had to listen to it for ten minutes. I wish someone had asked her to take it outside or something, but oh well.
