Baccarossa means redberry in Italian, and celebrates our passion for great red wine. We make our wines in the philosophy of the Garage Winemakers in Bordeaux in the 1990’s who broke away from traditional winemaking styles and crafted small batches of wine with careful attention, and minimal automation.

We also believe that wine, food, and friends is the ultimate combination, and to that end we invite you to read our Wine and Food Blog at www​.bac​carossa​.com. Baccarossa Chef Jen Sommerness will share interesting dishes, recipes and techniques.

Unfortunately we have no tasting room, and are not open to the public.

Our wines are available for purchase on our website, Rootstock Wine Bar of Los Gatos, and Ruthe Roberts Wine Collective in Saratoga Village.

History

Established in 2009.

We started making amateur wines in the 1990’s in the philosophy of the Garage Wines, focusing on creating distinctive red wines. Starting out with a few friends we bought some Cabernet grapes from a local vineyard. The first amateur vintage won a silver medal at the Orange County Fair Wine Competition. Over the years, we have developed new techniques and launched a professional winery, Baccarossa. In November of 2012 Baccarossa introduced its first two wines for sale.
