This place is awesome! David is really a great barber. Expect a wait though. I got there at 7:23 am on a Saturday morning to get my 2 sons hair cut and 1 guy was already there waiting. David opened around 8, and by the time we left at 9, 5 more guys had come in to get hair cuts. Yes this was a Saturday but when I called on Thursday he had a 2 hr wait! He’s that good! I will defiantly be taking my boys here from now on, even if I have to wait 2 hours!

Well as u already know that Marilu does by appt only but Dave does walk ins only, so guys just get up early nd wait a bit outside instead of waiting 3 – 4 hrs fr ur cut OR u can write urself in then come back at a later time, just b sure to ask how long fr ur turn lol. Anyways this barbershop is the best in town due to the awesome ppl that own nd run the place, Dave & Marilu Nieto r the best at what they do nd will b missed as my woman & myself have moved out of town, i have been coming to Dave fr my skin fades fr a few yrs now nd now i find myself in search of a place that’ll do my hair. They will b missed dearly by both of us as my woman was getn her hair done by Marilu. All i can say now is thank u Dave & Mari fr ur friendship nd services that u have provided fr us, u r appreciated.

Okay so here’s the deal… ;) First things first: MaryLou is by appointment as well as walk~ins. BUT they only take CASH so come prepared but their prices are unbelievably affordable especially when you consider how MUCH time and expertise both her and her husband David take and spend on each client. Was ready to take my very short coif down to a super short piXie cut AND go platinum blonde… Two major style change requiring serious skiLL n know how if I wasn’t going to come out looking like a weed whacker attacked my head and I stumbled n fell into a bucket of Clorox…; head first… I had just moved into a tiny town that I would soon learn would be located somewhere between a bad episode of the twilight zone n the Bermuda Triangle… Aka: Los Banos, Ca … With zero resources except for this lil style oasis called D&M. MaryLou talked to me in detail about the process that would follow from the cutting to the color and prepared me for the strong discomfort that I would very likely experience following the application of the Bleach not only to my hair but to my scalp as its super supppppppppppppper strong bleach in order to take the natural hair color down to a pure platinum. Although it was mildly uncomfortable as i have a damn strong tolerance for pain; she checked with me constantly asking if I was okay which I appreciated so much as i can’t tell you how many times i’ve NEVER been asked the question in the years past by other colorists while cooking under their dryers as my eyes wept and watered from the fumes… 6 months later I ABSOLUTELYLOVEMY PiXie cut Platinum style and DAILY receive compliments on both my color and cut anywhere I go. NO joke. The compliments come in multiples and daily ;) MaryLou has the MOST skilled set of hands along with her mind and she’s a true master of clippers ANDYES! Although I’m a chic my back and sides are clipped hella short at my request and she tapers, scissor cuts and TEXTURIZES unlike anyone I’ve encountered today. ONLY thing that breaks my ice cold~heart is that I just moved to Sac and now to get to her I am well over 2 hours away ONE way… SO the search has begun to attempt to find my new stylist & colorist here which brings up a good point: When I went to see her for my very last cut right before the move and informed her i was moving INSTEAD of withholding the techniques she uses on me as well as the product line, she instead shared them all with me telling me what to tell my future new person. The ONLY thing I will miss about this lil hole in the wall town is MaryLou… Period lol Final Grade: A ~ The End ;)~

Dave and Marilu(?) run a nice little salon/barber shop. We regularly take our boys in for haircuts, and they both do a fantastic job on kids. They have a number of stations, and welcome walk-ins and appointments. Walk-ins can have a long wait time if they are busy, but they do their best to keep things moving. My only issue is the place could use a little tidy-up and updating. This is easily over-looked though by the friendly service and great hair cuts. *Side note — English and Spanish speaking staff.
