A & A Auto Repair

DO NOT GO TO THESE PEOPLE. I take care of 2 disabled parents. I personally took the car I bought for them to this location with body control module problems. I explained that this car was for my parents that don’t have much stability in life so I was trying to find a reputable place that could take care of issues right. After 4 trips back and forth because the body control module that was put in was faulty I was told they had finally done it right. The car ended up having the SAME issue and left my parents stranded in Los Banos leaving them no choice but to take a cab back to our town Dos Palos. After my parents dropped the car to A&A they were told it could be a number of issues which had never been brought up to me. Seemed to me they saw 2 people they could take advantage of because when A&A finally did get the body control module right we got it back with other issues that were previously non-​existent. When I brought it to their attention I was told it was an unfortunate coincidence that it happened when it was in their possession. Total crooks. STAY AWAY FROM THIS PLACE. Fernando is NOT a honest man!!! He’s one of the main mechanics. If I could give 0 stars I would!

you get what you pay for. The parts they install tend to be going bad after 12 months.

I took my car to Repair it at the Auto shop and it was crash and had fall in a lake. The car was there for about two hours. «The transmission. does not need to be rebuilt. When something like this happen. My uncle told me many years ago because water is already inside of the part. You need to buy a new one in order to have the vehicle working again. And so this happen here in US. I spoke to The Mechanic at the shop with out telling what I new and, expecting to spend less money and He told me the samething. It’s cain of silly. going two times trough the same situation. I have to pay for a new Transmission. Tha’s to bad! My car is working do. Thank’s You all.

My daughter recently broke down just outside of Los Banos (about three hours from where we live). We got her towed to A&A after I called and spoke to Fernando. He assured me he would take care of my daughter, who was very scared, and promised to get her back on the road before they closed. He did exactly what he said he would do, and he did not overcharge. He could have taken advantage of us due to the situation, but he was honest and more than helpful. He made a bad situation turn into a great experience for all of us. I cannot recommend A&A enough!

No one answers the phone and when they do I have no idea what the guy is saying. Transmission went out after two months of it getting rebuilt. Also don’t hold your breathe bc one week turns into two on a job. Shall I keep going???

I wish I could select 0 stars but I can’t. We have taken our vehicles to A and A a few times but this was the final straw. My gear shifter snapped on my vehicle and we had it towed to A and A to get looked at. We spoke to Ignacio from the shop who later called explaining that it was the entire steering column that went out and needed replacing. 2 days later we called to check the status on our vehicle only to be told it was already done, yet we were never notified. When we went to pick it up we were told it was a small part which we found online for $ 80, yet the shop claimed they couldn’t find one for sale so they purchased an entire column that they charged us $ 300 for. What should have been a $ 200 repair turned into nearly $ 600. They thought they were going to keep the steering column too, I don’t think so. I paid for it. Its mine. They always state one problem then contradict and overcharge and it turns out to be something different. Don’t trust this place. They are a bunch of scam artists. I’m in the process of reporting this to the BBB also. I’ll never go back to those thieves.

I was traveling and my check engine light came on. I found them on Unilocal and stop by. They where able to check it with out charging me in a few minutes. It only fuel tank issue (like gas cap but my car does have one). Reset the code and we on our way.

Fast service, lower cost than quoted, super nice people. I am headed home!!! Thank you guys for fixing my ride!!!

These guys are honset, very knowledgable and as far as I know do all work in house, as opposed to a couple of popular places in town who outsource things like tranny work and other specialtie work. Go here if you wan honest, knowledgable and friendly serivce!

Got towed in with a bad fuel pump after dying on I-​5.
(Thought maybe it was bad gas.)
My 2001 Denali had to have fuel tank removed to access the fuel pump inside it; no access panel under the seat like some vehicles.
We were in & out in about 2 ½ hours on the road, with a lifetime warranty from O’Reiley’s for the pump & a year warranty for the service, good at any ASE certified mechanic, at a price that seemed right in the middle of the low to high price estimate I found online… Glad to be back on the road to home in the North Bay with my family after driving up from Mexico. Thanks guys for the good job and the quick service !!

Take all of my cars here they are great, fast reliable service, very nice friendly people. sometimes it takes a couple of days to fix but well worth it, owner very nice guy worked with me on my payments,…

I always take all my cargo vans and my minivan here and Fernando is always there to take my vehicles in and service it right away, I don’t always have time to wait or leave my cargo van at a shop since it’s always being used for business purpose, so 15 minutes oil change and 1 hour brake pads change, and super fast service on even other major services, I never had any problems either on any of the services that Fernando did, always did it right the first time.
If you do 3 or more type of services, he might forgot to do 1 of them sometimes, you just have to call him after a couple of hours to remind him of all the services you requested, this doesn’t happened a lot, may be just once or twice, with the kind of service I’m getting, I don’t mind this at all, after all he’s only human, nobody’s perfect.
Another thing is the price, it’s extremely good price compared to surrounding shops plus since they did the job efficiently, that makes the labor costs even lower since it’s less time needed to do the repairs, I highly recommend this place.

I have taken my car to several places now that I moved to Los Banos and once I took my car to this shop, I won’t take it anywhere else. I have taken several cars over the years and the owner is very honest and the prices were reasonable. Is hard to find an honest mechanic shop. My nephew came to visit from Oakland and his A/​C was not working, he had gone to some mechanic shops in Oakland and I told him to visit Fernando’s shop and he was very impressed with the explanation Fernando gave him, his recommendation for the parts he should use and how much he was going to charge him, needless to say, my nephew got his car repaired at this shop and was extremely satisfied.

I have taken both our cars here, and they failed to fix ANYTHING! The guy took our cars in didnt write anything down, forgot to repair a few things, and didnt appear to fix anything I did need done. He said things like it only took a few minutes.(then why did he keep my car for two days…) So now I’m right back where I started, two cars that still need repairs… So frustrating. DO NOT go here… and if you do Make sure they write stuff down and give you an invoice.
