Eydie is a wonderful person and has a great deal of experience as a paralegal working in the realm of family law. I wanted to find someone who could help me with practical aspects of the filing process and who could act as an even keeled communicator and mediator with my ex. She always makes herself available for questions and responds promptly. She also has a keen sense of humor and brings levity to an otherwise dreary and somewhat unimaginable point in your life. Basically, she’s a combination sage/​yenta who has accrued years of wisdom about the human condition and can likely read the situation with your ex like a old world fortune teller can read coffee grounds.
Keep in mind, Eydie is *not* a lawyer, but if you want someone to help you with practical aspects of the process and take pressure off she’s a great choice. As someone who could have done all of that myself I felt like I really didn’t need to force myself to deal with research, paperwork, and visits to the court on top of everything else I was going through emotionally. She turned out to be a great alternative. Remember though, she doesn’t know your life as well as you do so make sure to carefully review all forms before she files those docs with the court.

I feel so fortunate when I searched online and found Eydie of Womens Divorce Services. I called a few other places prior, but when I rang her, she asked questions other didn’t and I knew in my gut that she would be the one to help me in my situation and my intuition was right. She truly knows her stuff and I would definitely recommend her services!

Funny, after writing a review about one year ago it was placed in the «not recommended reviews» section and now it’s not even there. So here is another attempt.
Eydie took my money and gave me false court documents. She gave me LA Superior Court documents that look official; they were stamped with an official seal and mailed to me. But she NEVER went through the complete process. She profits by not completing all her cases and therefore saves a lot of money on her end.
So 10 years later I find when I search the LA Superior court website that I HAVE NOT been divorced and that my new, happy, 10 year marriage is INVALID because of it! (Nevermind the home we own and our children!!).
The moment I became aware of this I hired a lawyer and after $ 3,000 and a family court appearance the judge retro-​dated my initial attempt at my first divorce (married under a year-​no children) which made my current marriage valid and legal. PHEW!
Needless to say, the judge, court clerk and my attorney said that Eydie is obviously a crook. My suspicion is that she probably has a friend in the courts (in fact she mentioned this friend to me when I was in her apartment/​office) and this is probably her connection.
The court case number on my phony paperwork listed another couples name on the court website and under my name it said that I failed to answer or show up for all the filings necessary to complete my divorce so it was DISMISSED. The judge said Eydie probably took that other couples case number and used it on my paperwork.
ONE MORE THING FOR YOU!!:
Check the return address on the top left of your documents. Eydie listed HER address as the contact address and NOT MINE: therefore I did not receive all the summons to complete my divorce filings, but instead it went to Eydie (this according to the judge and my lawyer).

Eydie did an amazing job in helping me with a difficult divorce. After I spent thousands and thousands of dollars on an attorney that completely failed me, Eydie helped me to get on track. I was completely lost and frustrated and was dealing with a very difficult ex when I found Women’s Divorce Services. Eydie is very knowledgeable with family law, more so than most attorneys in my opinion, and gave me a clear plan of what I needed to do and what paperwork needed to be filed. I highly recommend her!

After being yelled at by these people and told that what I wanted to do was impossible, I thankfully did not lose hope, and continued calling lawyers until I found one who knew the law well enough to know that what I wanted to do was indeed possible and in fact very easy. Now it is done and I am very happy.
As for these guys, I don’t think they know the law very well, and they are quite rude too.

Women’s divorce did an excellent job with helping me last year. I had a messy situation with all the paper works which I ended up going back and forth with the court. After 1 year of frustrations I found Women’s Divorce and she fixed my paper’s and I was divorced in less than 3 month. I am so grateful for her help! Anyway my boyfriend just started his divorce and the ex put his name wrong on the paper. Now we all know how delicate everything is and Eddy found a way to correct it without making him lose any money. He is back on track and everything is smooth. I can speak on mine and my boyfriend’s behave and we both think that Eddy knows exactly what to do and she will help you get the best and fastest results!

I went to this paralegal for help with my divorce. I paid her $ 500 for her to prepare all the necessary paperwork. I go to her house and I had to take my baby and my friend to watch the baby while we did the paperwork. When my son starts crying she makes my friend go outside because she says she can’t work with the baby crying. Ok. But the baby leaves and she is constantly making mistakes that I point out. It takes her almost an hour to get all my info.
I come back a week later and I still find mistakes on my paperwork. She just crosses it out and writes it in. For the money I paid you would think she would print out another sheet to make it look professional.
I call her two weeks before my next trial date to schedule a date to prepare the trial brief that the court is requesting and she yells at me for not giving her more time. And she says that it will be an additional $ 300 for her to prepare the brief because she says it is a lot of work. I became upset because she had said the $ 500 was for the divorce paperwork and she should have told me that a trial brief was not included.
I ended up going to the self help center to prepare the brief. It was simple and free. And an attorney looked over all the work and approved the final brief. I regret giving this women so much money when I could have done it for free.
I don’t recommend her. She is very rude. She makes you feel like you don’t know anything and she is not upfront about what will be included for the amount of money you are paying.

Go see this lady, she’ll get the job done. She’s helped me out before. I recently made the mistake of going elsewhere and I’m paying for it… literally — in money and time.

I’m very pleased with Eydie’s services. She really helped me out when my first attorney failed me. I was on the verge of losing everything, including custody of my precious children.
Eydie told me what to do to regain all my lost ground, and then referred me to a wonderful attorney who was able to handle the rest of my case for me.
I was deeply in despair, and Eydie showed me the way out. She is truly a feminist in the best sense, and she really knows how the court system works.

Paralegal called back from message I left to find out about their services. The woman was beyond rude, insulting me and calling me names when she refused to listen to my simple answers. I’m a lawyer (not this type) and have rarely dealt with someone so addled and unprofessional. In less than 2 minutes to call someone names and insult them? I see that multiple persons have had the same experience as me. (See filtered reviews here too.) That paralegal must be either one of the owner’s romantic partner’s or a relative. Otherwise why wouldn’t they fire someone who clearly loses them business? (Would give zero if I could.)

I cannot express enough what a wonderful service Edyth offers! She helped me relentlessly and went above and beyond what I paid for. Her services were professional, quick & efficient. I couldn’t be happier with the outcome and would recommend all my friends to her!

Let me preface by saying that I signed up for Unilocal explicitly to warn other people about Women’s Divorce Services.
WDS is a one-​woman operation (her name is Eydie B.), and this woman is a nightmare. I find it horrifying that she describes her services as empowering, considering she is one of the rudest people with whom I’ve ever spoken.
I found Eydie through a Google search, seeking to ask some questions about divorce in California. I called her on my cell phone, which is both the only phone that I have, and a totally reasonable means of communication. The first question she asked me was, «What kind of phone are you on?! It’s terrible.» When I replied that it was a cell phone and that I was sorry if the reception was patchy but that I would do my best to speak up, she said, «Well, I don’t know how we’re supposed to talk like this.»
During our conversation, she cut me off repeatedly, saying things like, «No. You listen to me. This is what you need to understand…»
She was both patronizing and highly aggressive; she also spoke to me as if she’d identified a learning disability, and that I obviously didn’t know what I was talking about. She was curt, insensitive, condescending, and demanding.
She kept asking me questions, and then when I would start to answer, she’d either cut me off and resume scolding me, or else say, «We can’t do this over the phone. You need to come see me.» But then she would ask me another question.
She said, «My services are $ 250, and there is also a court filing fee. But we can apply to have that fee waived.» I told her this wouldn’t be necessary and she said, «What? Why? Why would you want to pay if you don’t have to? That’s stupid.» I repeated that I was simply trying to get some information, and that it wouldn’t be necessary for her to begin the process of looking into a filing fee waiver, but she was indignant, highly irritated.
(I’m of the mindset that it’s frankly none of Eydie’s business whether her clients choose to pay the filing fee of the Superior Court, or apply for an exemption. Informing women that they have the option of a fee waiver, and that their low income levels do not negate their legal rights, would be a positive service. But this is not what she does.)
When I asked Eydie when she was available to meet, she said, «I work from my home and I’m available today.» I told her today wouldn’t work for me, and she replied, «Well, I don’t know how you think this works, but you need to come see me or I can’t help you.»
Eydie does not want to help women understand their legal rights in divorce proceedings, nor assist them in navigating the complicated terrain of California law. She wants to berate and scare low-​income women into cutting checks that they probably cannot afford. Eydie is clearly a bitter, angry woman: the last person on Earth you’d want helping you through a divorce. She capitalizes on the fact that information about divorce in CA can be diffuse and frustrating, and she uses debasement as a means to manipulate people into paying her to fill out legal forms.
I thank the powers that be that I do not need to solicit this woman’s advice or services, and I hope that other’s who are considering it know that there are plenty of alternatives out there.
