The worst dentist ever unless you have a child with full insurance. Never go there it took months to see an actual dentist but they are so ready to take your money.

Horrible dentists and terrible service.
They have repeatedly and fraudulently charged insurance for emergency visits even tho I had made an appointment.
Sent me on needless referral appointments instead of doing the work
Made me go thru unnecessary X-​rays
Run far from them if you value your teeth!

After going to three shady dentists in LA, I finally found an honest one!
With medicaid, I don’t have many options. I also don’t trust many dentists in LA because All the ones I’ve gone to before Wilshire Center told me I had either several cavities (though I had no pain or tenderness) or I needed a deep cleaning (which is super duper expensive) or that I needed a mouth guard for grinding my teeth (though I have no symptoms of such). They all wanted me to pay a thousand bucks for these procedures. I was skeptical of course. After reading good reviews of these guys, I gave them a shot. The dentist was kind and practical and told me I didn’t need any of those things done. My teeth looked great!
So, the moral of the story is, some dentists, especially medicaid ones, are shady and act like used car salesmen. But you can trust Wilshire Dental Center.

Our family dental office for many years now and overall we’ve been quite pleased. Sometimes they can mix up your appointment time but that has been rare in well over 20 years of coming here. Very timely about appointment reminders and most of the staff are friendly and professional. Every dental need can be fulfilled here.

Sometimes finding a good dental office can be like trying to find a good auto mechanic – you never really know what you’re paying for, and results may vary!
I liked Dr. Silverio a lot on my initial consultation, but the office staff appears to be ill-​informed regarding the correct application of insurance and co-​payments. When you have a listing of benefits taken directly from your insurer’s website, it’s reasonable to expect that it be honored by any participating provider. Case in point: a periodontal cleaning is 100% covered by my plan within a 6-​month period, with the more extensive scaling and root planing covered in full once in any 24-​month period. It couldn’t be more clear. And yet, I was told I would be subject to a co-​pay of $ 50+ per quadrant. I offered to fax or email the benefit listing, but was told that it wouldn’t matter, «because we have a co-​payment listing.» And that pissed me off, especially since I’d already been told previously that they weren’t certain of the payment schedule, and they’d have to contact my insurance company. So basically, you’re making prices up? It gave me a bad feeling. And much like picking and sticking with a mechanic, gut feeling counts for a lot. So I cancelled my remaining two appointments.
I do think the quality of care here is probably good, but the staff really left me feeling like they were inattentive and just lazy. With so many dentists around there’s no reason to put up with this nonsense. The search continues.
EDIT: Received a voicemail message «in regards to my Unilocal review.» This is inappropriate. Do your job well and you won’t get reviews like this. And by the way, I visited another dentist, and am having a filling and root canal fully covered save for the crown. As is appropriate per my insurance schedule. Yup.

I came to WCDG because the provider my PPO assigned me to was awful. After researching my options, I settled on WCDG, and I’m glad I did.
The good: Friendly staff, clean facilities, minimal payout, quick.
The still-​good-​but-​could-​be-​better: Aesthetically, the office is fine, but some of the chairs are torn and it almost looks like a low-​income waiting room. Now, this is probably because I came through the back and not the front, which is actually very nice.
Back to the amazing: Dr. Kaplan was quick, yet thorough, and polite. He answered all of my questions (I’m the type to ask, «What’s that?» every five seconds) and showed a genuine interest in my oral health goals. I mentioned wanting Invisalign and he walked me upstairs to their partnered orthodontist. The entire affair was professional and easy.

Great customer service! Very nice ppl. Specifically this young lady named yulissa at the front desk. Very polite, friendly and helful.

Having issues with my teeth and the fear of the dentist is not a great combination. My first visit was mainly to get the x-​rays and get a quick exam from the dentist. Dr. Rogers, very nice, told me my issues, (what i kinda already suspected), and offered me «extra» services such as a deep clean.
I know other Unilocalers are complaining that they are trying to «up-​sell» you, but it is just a recommendation and you can just say no. I know that a deep clean is very important for your teeth’s health, but when you are starting a new job and bills are taking all of your paycheck, things like this gets pushed to the back burner.
So I found out that I needed a tooth extracted (versus $ 2000 for a root canal and crown), 3 cavities will need to be drilled and filled, and one tooth lost a filling, so I have to get that redone as well.
So on to my second appointment. Boy was I scared. I was telling myself, «Should I get all the work done at once?», «Do two trips?», Is she gonna pull my bad tooth first or do the fillings?“
I was sweating bullets. So Dr. Rogers came on in smiling, and that made me nervous, like she was about to go at my mouth with all the stuff they had pulled out, i.e. pliers I had seen and pointy tools. But she was nice and said, «We are only going to take out the bad tooth and do the fillings on another appointment».
YAY?
I was so ready to take all the pain and I was like ok, this is not too bad. Believe it or not, after 2 viles of numbing serum, I was out of that chair in about 12 minutes. I go back next week to get my broken filling taken care of next.
It is the following day that I am writing this review, and besides some slight pain, (I ate a burger for lunch)(ouch), Dr. Rogers was very nice and she was calm with me and I am ready for the next leg of my dental journey!
P. S. If you get any teeth removed, ask for the irrigation syringe to wash out the spot where you got your tooth pulled, getting food stuck in there is kinda painful! And stock up on Tylenol, I have some Oxy left over from when I had surgery but you really don’t need anything quite that strong!

During the visit everyone was extremely courteous and everything went smoothly. There’s a big parking lot in back for free. Not a big fan of the dentist but they put me at ease.

Updated: after having some trouble with them i called and got thru. They took care of my issues, the waiting period was very reasonable. This is office is better dental office than most. Recommended to others.

Best Dentist ive been to in LA area. They are thorough with their explanations and have friendly staff. I met with 3 seperate doctors and they were all very gentle and good at their job.

I had to pick a new provider and went to Wilshire dental. I called to make my first appointment last week and was surprised to be offered an appointment soon. I was impressed! I got an appointment for today at 7:15 am! I thought it was weird since prior to picking this dental office I researched the hours of service. I repeated the appointment date and time to the receptionist, she confirmed it. I asked again, in the am? She said, «yes». Guess what! I get there at 7:15 am and they are close!!! So upsetting. I called twice and they are close. I will wait for 8:30 am to call again. This is such a big inconvenience.

I really don’t know how this place got 4 stars. This has been my 3^rd visit so far (1 consultation and 2 tooth cleaning) and all three times, they made me wait 20 – 30 mins. This is on top of me telling their staff multiple times that I would be coming during my lunch break and before work so if they can make sure that I see the doctor as quick as possible and they assured me each and every time that I would. I’m actually writing this on my 3^rd visit and I just found out that they double booked my 12:00pm appointment with another client so I’m here waiting 20 mins for my 12:00 appointment.
AVOID AT ALL COST. I just cancelled my next appointment, I rather go find a facility that actually respects their client and their time.

Ok so this is an update. After my initial review the office manager reached out to me and offered to reschedule the appointment, essentially able to keep the appt that was initially made for Sat.
During the visit everyone was extremely courteous and everything went smoothly. There’s a big parking lot in back for free. The office was spacious and clean. There was a big TV showing Frozen. Receptionist and all staff super friendly and professional. No issues at checkout and they processed the insurance w/​o issues.
I was a glad that they were able to reach out to me and rectify the above. Would definitely come back here again.

I got 2 crowns there and after weighting almost 2 months… Finally I got them but the color is too withe and the shape of the new crowns are way bigger then the originals

I recently switched insurance plans and needed to find a in-​network dentist. After reading the great review on Unilocal about Greg Kaplan, I chose him for my Dentist.
As a new patient, I first received full X-​rays. Then Mr. Kaplan came in and introduced himself and was very friendly. He looked at my X-​rays and then did a very quick oral exam. He said everything looked good and asked if I had anything bothering me or if I had any concerns. That was it. I was then sent off for a cleaning with Luis. Luis was dry friendly and did a great job.
Overall, my experience was good but I sort of left there feeling like more should have been done. My last Dentist told me I had 2 – 3 cavities that needed filling, but Mr. Kaplan didn’t seem to find any. Was my last Dentist lying to me about cavities so she could get more money out of me? Or did Mr. Kaplan not see them because his exam was so quick?
When Luis was cleaning my teeth, he had my X-​rays pulled up, so I asked him if I had any cavities and he said no and then proceeded to tell me that the Dentist would have seen them if I did.
I’ve never left the Dentist having such an easy experience. It seems like every time I go, they always tell me how much work I need done… which inevitably is always going to be super expensive. I guess I was expecting the same thing from this Dentist, but that didn’t happen. So maybe it really was just that easy, and if that’s the case, and I really am cavity free, then this was a great experience!

My new insurance company gave me a long ass list of dentists I could choose from and told me good luck in finding a dentist. I did all the research I could and found Wilshire Center Dental Group thanks to Unilocal reviews. I was very happy with my decision! Parking was free! Location was central! The waiting room is never crowded and you get called in on time. All the ladies in the front are very nice in person and on the phone. I had a great hygienist, I apologize, I forgot her name but it started with a C. She murdered my gums in a good way and now I am plaque free (for now as I will probably continue eating my candy). My dentist was Dr. Schwartz, he was a nice straight forward guy and got the job done with my teeth fillings. I got in and out in less than an hour with quality dental care. And that’s all I could ever ask for.
⁵⁄₅ would stick with this dental group as long as I live in LA.

I am switching dentist because their office staff makes it seem we bother them with questions. I asked if my insurance would be a problem, submitted information ahead of time. It was never verified by the time of my appointment, insurance was on east coast time and closed by the time of my visit. Office girl made me pay $ 50 cash for me and $ 50 for my daughter
I’ve only been reimbursed for one of us and nobody gives me a straight answer. Again it’s a shame educated doctors lose business by surrounding themselves with incompetent staff that feels entitled to your business.
Well I got a good cleaning, lost $ 50 but they lost me as a customer

I’m glad I found Dr. Rogers! She and her dental assistant, Corneilious, are both awesome! After living in four cities, I know the importance of finding a great dentist, and Dr, Rogers is just that.
I hate pain. Have no tats, not do I have kids, so needless to say, I’m good on pain.
Had to have a wisdom tooth pulled and two cavities filled All on the left side of my mouth. Not only sis Dr. Rogers administer the anesthesia painlessly, she did all the work and I didn’t feel a thing. Corneilious was great assisting as well! Think I’ll stick with Dr. Rogers from here on out! The other wilshire center staff is always pleasant as well!

Bottom Line: I have been going here for a few years now and I have to say its pretty good
I started comin here a few years ago and it took awhile but the place has grown on me. At first to me it seemed a bit like an assembly line dental care but at the same time they are usually pretty quick about everything.
I had my wisdom teeth pulled here and I couldnt have been happier with the way it went. I have had good days and bad days here for sure but all in all, this place is pretty good.
