Who’s That DJ?

Who’s that DJ is the best DJ out there! I hired Matt to do my wedding back in September and he was incredible. Everyone was having the best time. My best girlfriend ended up hiring him for her wedding after seeing how great he was! I’ve never seen a better wedding dj. He’s absolutely incredible. He captured the vibe my husband and I were trying to achieve perfectly. He’s the best of the best! Couldn’t speak more highly of him. I refer him to EVERYONE I know!!!

We came across Who’s that DJ from the recommendation of our photographer. She had worked with Matt and Co on many occasions. We quickly set up a meeting and sought to find if this guy is the right guy. We met at a coffee bean to get a vibe of him and noticed he’s a laid back guy, but with confidence to spare. Obviously by me writing this review we went with him and we are so happy with our decision.
Let me start off by mentioning that Matt is super professional and actively working to make the event, in my case my wedding, as great as it can be. He’s proactive in keeping you on task with what is required for song choices during the day of. Also he’s super helpful went we went through the preliminary timeline with him and our coordinator. He’s just a great guy overall.
On the day of the wedding he was definitely one of the vendors we did not need to worry about. Everything was set up from his side: the sound system both outside for the ceremony and inside for the reception, mics, sound check, etc. were all executed without any driving from my side or the coordinator’s side. During the reception where he took control as the MC and DJ, everything that he was in controlled of went without a hitch. When introducing the wedding party and transitioning to speeches he was quite composed and brought an excitement when needed for transitions. Plus his interactions with the different groups are hilarious when looking back at friend’s videos of certain moments.
Obviously I would recommend him for your wedding or any event as a matter of fact. Matt is the DJ you need.

My husband and I choose Who’s that DJ for our wedding with the recommendation from our wedding coordinator and were not disappointed. Matt was great at communicating and setting up everything and Dominic was the DJ for the wedding and he was amazing! He spent time talking to my husband and I and finding out what was important to us at the wedding. He was also able to asses the vibe of the crowd and played the music accordingly! The dance floor was full all night thanks to him. I would recommend Who’s that DJ to everyone they are very professional and very talented!

Dominic Miranda from Who’s That DJ? hosted my daughter’s wedding last weekend at Descanso Gardens. Dominic was AWESOME! His set-​up was on point, he hit every music que and his announcements were timely, accurate and appropriate. He felt the vibe of the room and made the event run smoothly. This review is for Dom… Dom da bomb! Words cannot describe how pleased we are that we chose him for our special day. From the way he timed everything perfectly during our ceremony procession to the perfectly DJ-​ed reception– everything was flawless thanks to Dom! Whether you want to pick every song yourself or whether you want a DJ that can create a playlist inspired by your taste– Dom is flexible and can cater to your needs. All our guests had an awesome time and stayed longer on the dance floor than I’ve ever seen at a wedding. A special thanks to Who’s that DJ for having the best DJ around! Thanks Dom!

Matt was very accommodating to my needs since we were on a strict budget for our graduation party. My sister wanted to have not only music but lights, and Matt was able to quote us a more than reasonable price. I had called more than 8 DJ’s all of which were charging more than what I felt was affordable. Matt was able to return our calls within a reasonable amount of time which helped relieve me of stress and unanswered questions. For the day of the event, we had Dominic as our DJ and he was fantastic! Not only was he very professional: arriving on time, and setting up in a timely manner. Dominic was great at playing the requested songs from our guests, the songs we placed on our must have list, and incorporate other songs that were still within our genre that we had never heard of. The music never ended and our party was a huge success!

Matt was amazing from start to finish! He was super helpful and on top of it during planning. I had a good idea of what kind of music we wanted, but even when I my «I don’t know «moments, he was there to make everything better! The day of the wedding went awesome and everyone kept complimenting our music ! Love Matt and what he does ! Worth every penny :)

We are fans of Matt Gudis and the services that ‘Whose That DJ’ provides to partygoers. He delivers top quality service for making your party an absolute blast. Matt has been the ‘DJ” for our social circle for years, and with every party or event, he provides the best music for all occasions and segments of the event we have been the hosts or guests. I am a fitness instructor so I love finding new musical beats to motivate people to move and sweat all the time while getting fit. We trusted Matt to bring out the best musical selections to get the party started and appease all ages with a variety of musical genres. I always dreamed of having a dramatic musical bridal entrance when walking down the aisle to meet my husband. Matt helped me convey that moment and worked with my many ideas to creatively produce the romantic experience musically of making my walking down the aisle moment feel magical. He recommended a beautiful non-​lyrical ballad from Coldplay (my favorite band) that I had not heard of before, when he played it for me weeks before the wedding, my wedding processional vision only got better. Our bridal party walked down to ‘Reign of Love’ and I walked down the aisle, not to pachabel’s canon (boring) like I thought I would after hearing it at my childhood ballet recital or in all those wedding movies… but rather to a very powerful song called «The Only Moment We are Alone» by Explosions in the sky, to which my husband had loved. Matt provided the music to really deliver that moment of my dreams, and although it last under 2 minutes, it felt like time stood still and allowed our guests to take in the intimacy of our beautiful 40 minute wedding ceremony. The recessional music after our vows, was fun and upbeat leading our guests into cocktail hour and for a fun night of festivities ahead.
My husband and I love all types of music from dance, club, rock, ‘80s/​90s, pop, electronic, house, hip-​hop, and rap. We got married the week legendary rocker David Bowie passed away, and since all of us were fans, you can guarantee we all rocked out to «Let’s Dance» memorably. We had such a fun time at our wedding from our first dance, to dancing with our family, to the Last Dance, but he even added in a few extra songs to play as guests kept dancing away, which was our goal. We are so pleased with these memories. Highly recommended professional DJ service to accommodate sound and entertainment for your special celebrations.

All she wants to do is– all she wants to do is dance! Matt Gudis is hands down the best DJ I’ve ever witnessed at a wedding. My best friend hired him for her wedding, and it truly made the evening. He was so receptive to the music she and her husband (yay!!!) requested, and is a serious artist at mixing and keeping the flow going. The dance floor was full all night, and my feet look like I put them in a garbage disposal. I assure you that’s a testament to the amount of time I danced in heels, barefoot, and in someone’s sandals I found. He kept the night’s activities on track without ever stealing the spotlight from the couple.

My husband and I were referred to Matt Gudis and Who’s that DJ through our wedding planner, and we could not be more grateful for the suggestion!
Matt was kind, helpful, honest and accommodating not only in regards to my husband and my wedding vision, but also in guiding us toward playlists & a vibe that would fit the venue/​our guests/​etc. We had a Skype session prior to booking to make sure it was a good match, and within minutes of the phone call we knew right away we would be happy with his services. He answered any and ALL of the millions of questions we had for him, and was able to provide FANTASTIC flawless service within our budget. He was classy and professional but also extremely fun, and we literally could not have asked for a more ideal DJ to facilitate the best party anyone’s ever thrown (in our humble opinion;)).
Months later people are still raving about how awesome the music was at our wedding – a favorite memory amongst many of our guests is of chugging wine at the bar between songs because the music playlists were so good nobody wanted to have a drink in hand for fear of hindering dance moves. Quite the conundrum, and in my opinion the best problem to have at a wedding :)

Matt was amazing! From the moment we booked with him he went out of his way to make us feel like he created a personalized event just for us. He met with us to get to know us and have a better understanding of the mood we wanted at our wedding so it never felt like a template event. Instead, he helped to create such a warm and fun vibe at our wedding that everyone was talking about!

I knew we picked the perfect wedding DJ when I looked around the party and saw my great aunt, my mom’s co-​worker, and my best friend from college all getting down on the dance floor at the same time.
From the beginning Matt was so professional and organized, making the whole process easy and smooth. He communicated with us every step of the way to make sure we were happy and getting our needs met.
We had Dominic as our DJ and we cannot rave about him enough. He did our ceremony music, cocktail hour, and reception music and gave us exactly what we wanted. He was so great at reading the crowd and transitioning between songs – he’s amazing! I seriously want to have another party just so that he can DJ.
After the wedding everyone came up to us saying how incredible the DJ was and how he set the tone for such a fun wedding. We are so grateful to Dominic for making our day so special and to Matt for all his support.

Using Matt was the easiest decision we made. The process was very smooth. He was very available to meet wherever we needed in the LA area, which was useful when busy planning multiple other items for a wedding.
We used a simple website he sent us to choose our songs and make notes for the songs. The night of the wedding went very smoothly and Matt did a good mixing songs throughout the night. I had friends ask me for his info after the wedding because he did a great job. And that’s saying a lot as me and my friends are in the music business. Matt’s price fell within out budget, especially considering we he was very professional and music was something we never had to worry about.
He was also a great MC and was very classy and professional!

Matt and Johnny were a breeze to work with throughout the wedding process! Who’s That DJ really took the time to get to know us and gather a sense of what we wanted for our special day. They were spot-​on grasping our preferred styles while inserting their originality and creativity. We touched base a couple of times throughout the planning process and used their online tools and music database to delineate our wedding day songs and add some guidance for «what to play/​what not to play». We left the rest to them and couldn’t have been happier! They were professional and their expertise definitely showed! We got amazing compliments for the music on wedding day! One very important element we required was a bilingual MC and they didn’t disappoint! Family and friends were all thrilled! 100% satisfied.

Matt and Dom come in less than a week before our wedding on Saturday ¹¹⁄₁₄ and totally killed it! They were absolutely great, Dom didn’t get much direction from us, but he knew exactly what he was doing and got everyone out of their seats and on the dance floor and kept them there all night! Next time I need a DJ I will 100% call Who’s That DJ again!

We couldn’t have been more pleased with Who’s That DJ and our amazing DJ, Matt Gudis. He helped make our wedding reception just perfect. His selection of music, expertise on the microphone, sense of humor, and all around great attitude was so appreciated. So many of the guests commented on how amazing Matt was, plus the dance floor was always jam packed. The variety of music was fantastic — including songs we choose and many of Matt’s picks mixed in as well. The style suited us perfectly. He got to know us in meetings beforehand and because of that he was just fantastic during the reception.
We really appreciated how down to earth he was, how he walked us through the process and made everything so easy. If we ever need a DJ again — we will most definitely give Matt a call right away! All the thumbs up!

I used Whos’s that DJ for my wedding in May 2015. Dominic did a fantastic job of keeping everyone (including me) on the dance floor. There was no cheeseball which I was extremely happy with. We met with Dominic a week before the wedding to get all the likes and dislikes down and talked about timelines.
All in all I was very happy with my experience and would definitely recommend them, the owner Matt is pretty awesome as well.

For our wedding day we had the great pleasure of not just working with Who’s That DJ but booking Matt Gudis himself! We did start our planning and booking almost a year in advance but being able to spend that time getting to know each other, music experience and tastes and overall professionalism/​work ethic was extremely worth it. My husband used to DJ in high school and this was the only vendor he was responsible for researching. He really like some of the tracks on the site and for him it was important to know that we’d have a dj with strong skills in seamless transitions, diverse music knowledge (and a large database) as well as great speakers — Who’s that DJ had that and more. As a meticulous planner and being someone who tends to be very particular, one of the things I liked best about working with this vendor were their use of software/​online apps that made communication and organization so much easier. Matt sent us 2 links so 1 was to construct a song list with our do’s, don’ts and special requests which was very helpful especially because we incorporated some international music. The other app was much like an event/​timeline planner so we could specify which songs and when and work on how events would be announced (such as speeches) as well as the general agenda for the day. Based off this, it helped us build our larger timeline with our wedding planner and site coordinator.
To communicate, he was kind enough to Skype with us on more than one occasion which due to busy work AND wedding schedules… made things work out even better. He is very timely with email too and I have to say this because just about the week of our event, I requested an add on of 90s R&B and pop love songs since we grew up in the 90s and just like that — BOOM. he worked it in. All the big hits too, because of Matt/Who’s that DJ we have a beautiful memory of 2 of our closest friends doing an impromptu KC & JoJo performance — everyone in the attendance LOVED IT, and was singing along! By the wedding date we really all felt like we knew each other. Not only that, we have come to truly love Matt, his work and his music. His personal positive energy and passion will only make your event more special.
Some things that our guests really appreciated that Matt was not cheesy, made the whole event very much about us and played such an awesome mix of music that really represented the two of us both as individuals and as a couple. It was like a concert of our greatest hits. I, myself, literally could not stop moving and dancing till the music stopped. He kept the energy and spirits high all night long. People now ask us who was/​is your DJ and I’d like to think that if we ever had another massive event… we already have that questions answered.

Where to begin??? Oh I know… how about Matt, you ROCK!!! We were very fortunate to have met Matt through our wedding coordinator Mindy, from Mindy & Co. We met him for coffee, and fell in love with him right off the bat. He knows his stuff; asked us what we listened to, and what type of vibe/​mood we wanted for the night. He provided us a very useful link where there are options of the most popular songs for different categories (father/​daughter dance; mother/​son dance; first dance; cake cutting song… etc) there was also an option of «songs not to play”(like Shout or the Chicken Dance).
A few weeks before our wedding, we met with him again to go over the timeline of the day. We were stuck on two (2) songs for the bridal party and bride/​groom entrance: «Home» by Edward Sharpe and the Magnetic Zeros or «Best Day of My Life» by American Authors… and he gave us his honest opinion on how our music choices were already flowing so he was the tie breaker… we went with «Home». During that meeting, we had expressed to him that we absolutely didn’t want random people grabbing the microphone on the wedding and giving a speech; we gave him a list of who were the only ones who could use the mic, and he made that happen! We had offered a spot for music requests made by our guests on our wedding website, I sent that final list to him a few days before the wedding, my goal was not to have our guests lining up to requests songs.
Our wedding day… what a wonderful day that was! Matt was so professional, dressed to the nines! Our wedding had a slight delay after dinner, but Matt made sure to keep the music upbeat so it would get our guest on the dance floor. Till this day, all of our guest cannot stop talking about how amazing the music and energy we had that night. Thank you Matt for all that you did for us, we could not have had the night we had without you. Ladies and gents, look no further, Who’s that DJ is by far the VERY BEST there is!

We couldn’t have asked for a better DJ than Matt. We first saw him DJ our cousin’s wedding two years before ours and sought him out for ours. Our wedding needed to have three different music areas setup, the ceremony, cocktail hour, and reception. He showed up early and had all of the equipment ready so there was no break in music between each part of the event. Matt read the room perfectly and crafted sets that kept people on the dance floor all night.
Planning the music and general timeline of the day was painless with Matt. He was extremely professional and great with replying to e-​mails and taking calls. My wife and I like many different genres of music and Matt had great suggestions. We can’t even count the number of compliments we received about him from our guests.
