They have a really good and unique collection of cheese and some hip seating on the patio! Will definitely be back for some cheese plate and sides on an afternoon with friends!

So glad to have found this place. It’s located on Washington, so you’ll need to find street parking. The meters in front are old school and don’t take credit cards so you’ll need to bring coins. It’s located right next to Pitfire Pizza.
Wow, their choice and selection of cheese is amazing! They are all arranged by region and the guys who helped us were great! Very knowledgeable and they will let you taste all of their cheeses. They have a wide variety of cheese so I got my funky cheese (Greyson), we also picked up a very milky and delicious Brie. Their prices are good, especially for the quality of cheese you are getting! Although I do have to say that they totally ruined me and I can probably only get my cheese from Wheel House from now on.
They also have a small, but very good beer selection. The guy who helped us was awesome and was totally into beer, which made for a great conversation. They also have wines and a few jams and jellies. I’ll be back very soon!!!

This place is perfect. Friendly staff, great selection and good location. I don’t know much about cheese (other than cheddar, Swiss, etc.). This place will open your eyes to cheese if you’re unaware. Stop by and check them out. You can taste them too which was my favorite part. :)

I came on a Sunday afternoon and it was busy. There were about 2 parties ahead of us, but beware each customer takes up a lot of time! They were all taste-​testing various cheeses recommended by the staff. So come with some patience because the personalized attention means you will be waiting. I got the wine and cheese tasting for 2 off a gilt city voucher for $ 25 which was worth the price.
I discovered an amazingly salty aged gouda that was to die for. The tasting comes with 4 cheeses, a jam, and some toast.

This is my new happy place. Just walking in here makes my day before I’ve even tried or bought anything. Every one of their employees is a wealth of information and a poster child for perfect customer service. Engaging, interested people who really know their stuff, but most importantly, are patient as all get out with those of us who either don’t know what we want or are looking to try something we haven’t had before (without the handy dandy memory of what all we have had!).
We usually come in here at un-​busy times of day (mid-​day on a weekday, say), so we’ve been lucky enough to have the time to ask all the questions and try all the things. They’re glad to give you endless samples to help you make your decisions. Their prices are good and their selection has just the right size and variety not to be overwhelming. They get new things in all the time and old things do rotate out, so there are always new things to try.
So far we’ve tried probably 50 different cheeses in shop and taken home at least 10 – 15 of them, some of them repeatedly (I’m looking at you Cabot Clothbound! *swoon*). They have a great selection of beer and wine, now. They have lots of interesting crackers, nuts, chocolates and other cheese accessories to enrich the decadent cheese plate you’ll clearly be having for dinner after your visit here.
Payment is via their ipad, super easy and fast.
They have a lovely little patio out back, cozy and decorated with plants and string lights — just delightful. They host movie nights, beer/​wine tastings and cheese tasting events out there, as well as serving a limited menu of no doubt scrumptious breakfast and lunch items! Can’t wait to come back here time and time again. They’ve won a serious place in my heart (which is now made of cheese).

I’ve been trying to come to this place for awhile already but getting across Lincoln blvd is a nightmare. Even on a bike. I read you can bring a bottle of wine here and drink it with your cheese/​meat board. (Charcuterie plate).
I finally got a Lyft to drive us here (bottle in hand) and started to order a board but when I asked about opening my bottle he told me they don’t allow that anymore. The whole reason why I came was to have a drink with the cheeses and meats. He said something about getting a license to serve alcohol but there was none there. I told him forget the board and got another Lyft back home.
I did sample a tiny sliver of cheese but to be honest and it was good. The guy was kinda nice although I did call twice to confirm bringing a bottle of wine before hand (no one answered). I’d rather just go to whole foods in Playa Vista, get the same shit and drink while I shop or tend the bar by the entrance. First and last time at this place unfortunately.

There are a few gems in their selection of 60 to 70 cheeses, but the small inventory means that the choices are not diverse. Most items are slightly ripened goat cheeses, but there are few long-​aged hard cheeses, ripe bleus, and runny cheeses. Sure, it’s a nice cheese shop for the neighborhood, but it’s not worth going out-​of-​the-​way to come here. I enjoyed my visit, but don’t see much reason to come back when there are better and broader selections at other places.
They also sell other items to complete a charcuterie board like cured meats, olives, jam, honey, and baguette. There are bar stools for those who order their cheese sandwiches.

Stopped in after a birthday dinner down the street. Realized we made it just before closing. The server was very nice and offered us samples even though he was working alone and trying to close. We ended up ordering a lovely Spanish Goat’s milk cheese, Quince paste & Mexican chocolate. Everything was delicious and our service was fabulous. He even gave me a birthday treat & old baguettes for an impromptu sword fight! Will definitely be back. The cheese assortment, cured meats and other condiments were amazing. Next day off, I’m here for a little palate pampering.

They have quite the selection and very helpful people who work here. I stopped by on my way to the Hollywood Bowl and picked up everything I needed for a picnic right here.

Had such a great time here! Drove by on the way to the beach and I made my boyfriend stop !! I’ve never been to a cheese shop and our first experience was so much fun! We got a yummy cheese and charcuterie platter! The staff was friendly and taught us a little bit about the cheese we enjoyed. Definitely coming back ;)

This place rocks! The selection is amazing and the staff (cheese mongers) are super cool and knowledgable. I have so much fun every time I go in there, and learn something new about the magical world of CHEESE!
Great location (finally a cheese shop around here!), fabulous gift baskets (my new go-​to gift for all occasions) and best of all… the BACK PATIO!

We stumbled in here after a heavy meal at Pitfire next door. After all, what better way to follow up pizza than to get a light & airy after-​dinner snack of gourmet cheese? OK, maybe not the best plan in the world, but friends of our have used Wheel House to help cater a couple of gatherings, and each time I’ve been so impressed by the cheese that I had to stop in.
The best thing about coming in here is the impressive knowledge of the staff behind the counter, and their ability to help a cheese neophyte navigate the vast selections. You can give them an idea of what you like (sharp, aged), and they will offer you samples of things both familiar and new. The staff is extremely patient and friendly, and there is absolutely no pressure. We decided on the L’Amuse Gouda, and it was splendid.
Depending on your tastes & bank account balance, you may want to make Wheel House a regular stop, or just use it for your next cheese-​based home gathering.

This is the best possible cheese shop on the Westside. Not only is the selection and variety of cheeses vast and varied, the customer service is incredible. All employees are attentive and knowledgable. Look out for Eric, who is my favorite monger. He is friendly and always knows what cheeses are perfectly ripe and in season. I am always happy to have a conversation about the history and origin of cheeses with Lynn, who is my cheese mother. I love Wheelhouse and always feel excited and at home when I walk in. I encourage everyone to go in and taste some cheeses. Delicious! They also have a free open house every 3^rd Thursday of the month, as well as classes and events!!! I am overjoyed to have wheelhouse in the neighborhood!

Amazing cheese shop with excellent customer service. Everyone that works here seems extremely knowledgeable and explains what is being served in a very well. This local shop is a must go for anyone in Mar Visa, Venice, or Marina Del Rey. BYOB for now so head on over!
It’d be nice if they had some bike parking on in front and they are currently going through a remodel so it’ll only get better!

This is a quality shop, wish LA had more establishments like this. Ben walked me through a few different samples till I finally found a keeper. Visited again last week, and let them know I was traveling to Europe. They provided a rundown of popular cheeses for each country I’m visiting. Now I’m ready for the Chevre!

I have been wanting to come in to the Wheel House since it opened and I finally did and it was such a pleasure — thanks to Ben! The selection is not huge but just right. I love the ambiance and selection of cheese pairings. So happy to have a ‘fromagerie’ in my little hood. I was in a rush but I definitely want to check out their patio next time. Looking forward to coming back again and again!

Okay the fact there’s a cheese store in Culver is awesome. The fact it’s right next to Pitfire Pizza as people pointed out, also awesome.
Super knowledgable cheesemongers. And like everyone else has said– they are more than willing to offer a sample. (Angelenos, here’s a Protip: Getting samples of cheese form a cheesemonger is usually the norm, not a special treat, you poor things.)
In addition to the usual crackers and the usual charcuteries and other accoutrements, they do have a couple of rarities, too. Licorice jam? Will have to check that out another time. Can’t imagine what I’d do with it besides eat the whole thing with a spoon.
One thing I was very excited about was the fact they have cheese bags. Proper storage is key. You can’t use Saran wrap or your precious and expensive investment will go wrong on you. So I definitely picked that up along with my favorite blue.
That being said, it didn’t really feel like they carried «more than 100 cheeses from around the world,» as their website describes. And a lot of the cheeses I did see are the same ones found in Whole Foods and Bristol Farms. And as usual I didn’t see any face-​meltingly stinky ones on offer but that’s a larger critique of L.A.‘s collective food palette more than Wheel House.
Mind you, there were a few unexpected gems here and there, to be sure. But I think the real difference and selling point between here and everywhere else you can get proper cheese is the service. The people at Wheel House are carrying what they do because they care about cheese and want to educate you about what you don’t know. Whereas sometimes I feel like the people at Whole Foods want to sell you brie, because that’s what you know.
I’ll come back to this place for sure. If they start sourcing cheeses from more distant or unexpected lands, I’ll probably never leave. You’ve been warned, Wheel House.

They’re generous on the samples, and give great recommendations. Wide variety of all sorts of cheeses — you’re sure to find something you’ll love.
I walked away with a wonderful Tallegio and some Grayson. So glad this place opened up in my neighborhood. Apparently they have cheese classes too. I’ll definitely try one of those out soon!

Let me tell you, this shop is a gem in the rough of the Washington corridor.
First of all, the owner Alex is a wonderful guy. The shop was suggested to me by a friend who lives nearby. So I went to check it out one day when I was already close by. Asked what would go well with an IPA that I had just brought down from Oregon. Sadly, the beer skunked after being in the growler too long, but the CHEESE! Oh the cheese! Must have tried 10 cheeses, samples for free until you find what you like, and ended up with an amazing brie. Told the owner I’d be back the next weekend for more.
When I came back the next time around, again, tasted some amazing cheeses and ended up with two beautiful cow cheeses; an amazing cheddar and soft cheese that blew my mind. Since I had told the owner he was obligated to hang out with me, he came down to the store and came out back for cheese and conversation. It’s always great when the owner is invested in their clients, it really shows in the shop as well. Not only can you get some amazing cheese from all over the world, there are meats, crackers, spreads, chocolates, honey; anything that goes with cheese is ready for you here. Want a spread to take home? Check. Want a tasty sandwich? Check. These cheese mongers really know their wheels.
Will most likely be buying more cheese than I should, on a weekly basis, from this wonderful shop. You must stop by!

It’s late night, I’m kind of tipsy, and I find myself on that part of Washington Place that doesn’t know if it wants to be a cute neighborhood or weird commercial slum. I notice a new place, draw close and almost bust through the glass.
A goddamn cheese shop.
Cheese shops and bakeries awaken this sleeping little child in my heart because there’s just tragically few of these around. Which makes no sense because fresh bread + quality cheese is basically all I need in life. All the Beatles need is love. Well, love for me is bread and cheese.
I went back there today and ended up walking out with handfuls of soft, delicious Camembert for what came out to be ridiculously affordable. Really, though, the prices are excellent. Most cheese shops will make you pay to just smell their cheese, but the lady behind the counter was shoving samples in our faces the moment we walked through the door.
And BEST of all: They have a back patio. Which is BYOB. $ 15 for amazing cheese, a sunlit patio and a big fat bottle of wine? If they’re not careful, they might just have a new tenant.
