Went in for a bagel this morning and was very disappointed. Service is slow at best, had a 20+ minute wait for a bagel with cream cheese. The food is still good but there are plenty of better options.

Great food, Great service. We were originally going to go to Eggslut but the line was looping around half of the place and I was getting hangryyyy. Got the reuben sandwich. Pastrami was cut and cooked to perfection. Bread was delicious as well.

It takes a lot for me to love a bagel… It takes a whole lot for me to love a bagel sandwich. It is rare for me to eat a bagel. It is rare as moon eclipsing sun… It isn’t so rare since moon eclipsing sun can be seen somewhere on earth every 18 months. The point is that I rarely eat bagels and bagel sandwiches, two every three years or so. Uncle Leo had me at its second bite. Just to make it clear, not your Uncle Leo. I’m talking about Uncle Leo from Wexler’s Deli. Everything bagel delightfully danced in my mouth with lox, eggs and onion. I enjoyed every bite of it. Unfortunately, I also had their potato salad and it was below par. One star deduction for it. If you love New York style Jewish deli bagel sandwich, then it will be worth a trip to the Wexler’s Deli in the Grand Central Market. Nearest Metro Station: Red and Purple Lines at Pershing Square

My husband ordered a Reuben yesterday. I tried a bite and it was so good I had to go there for lunch today. But what a disappointment! My sandwich was drenched in grease and there was barely any sauerkraut on it, despite my verifying that the sandwich had sauerkraut. I ate the first half convincing myself that each next bite would taste better. Very disappointing g experience.

Public enemy would say, «dont believe the hype». I had their«famous» pastrami named after an la neighborhood [in true hipster fashion]. It was whatevers. The pastrami wasnt even juicy. It had an Interesting texture. The sanwich was a fair size but not so much meat for the price. It maybe artisinal or hand cured, no se que no se cuanto, but its not as good as it should be good especially for the price they charge. Kinda a small rip off. The guy at the counter had kind of a weird sense of humor too but oh well what do you expect from the hipster mecca GCM.

Wexler’s Deli probably has one of the best everything bagels in LA. There is something about it’s texture that makes it different from any other bagel that I’ve had. I typically get the cream cheese & lox. It’s served with capers and some thinly sliced red onions. I wish they served it with slices of tomatoes(but I also haven’t asked for it that way either). The lox is probably one of the better qualities, however they are kind of stingy on the serving of it. If you come here for a breakfast sandwich, make sure to come before 11:00AM. Overall a great part of grand central market. There’s also bar seating here. Please make sure to order first and then grab the seat. Ladies, they have purse hooks as well.

My dude and I are bagel people so naturally we decided to get a bagel here. One thing I liked about this place was that many of their menu items are named Seinfeld characters. The bagel we got was the«Uncle Leo,» Jerry’s uncle who always says«Hellooo!» It came with egg, lox, and cream cheese. Yumm, very delicious. We also got a boxed water, which was kind of unnecessary on my part considering they already serve water in the seating area. This is a cool spot! Well priced too, especially with the amount of food and care that goes into the bagel, lol. We are fans, and we will be back. Thanks!

Ok, so we were actually trying to get to eggslut. Didn’t realize how long the line would be and we were way too hungry to wait. So we wandered about and just decided to stop here. It looked very nice but more importantly, it seemed that service was prompt and friendly. I ordered the OG and it was honestly one of the best sandwiches I’ve had. Probably helped that I was super hungry by then. But really, this is a good spot to try if you’re at Grand Central Market. I also saw that they sell half and half cookies…(Giant cookie… More like cake-cookie hybrid) I definitely would want to come back and try the Boyle Heights sandwich and grab myself one of these cookies.

Kinda so-so on Wexler’s, and I’ll tell you why: It’s extraordinarily expensive. My(plain) bagel with CC and lox was $ 11 and change. If it were massive slices of lox and double the CC I could see charging that. BUT we’re talking about one piece that sits on top and doesn’t even overlap the sides. It’s just a bit chintzy of a serving is all. They always seem to be out of Everything bagels(can they just order MORE??) I love Everything bagels. So much in fact, that it’s really disappointing when plain is the only option. Of the three times I’ve gone, they were sold out. I went around noon, so I guess that’s just too late. Because of these two reasons, I’ve been hesitant to order a sandwich. They look small. Way too small for the price. It’s just not SPECIAL enough. Service is fine and the space is usually clean. It can take a minute to get your food but since it’s where it is you kinda have to give them a break.

The Macarthur park sandwich is the equivalent of the Langer’s #19. It is cheaper, a little smaller, and almost as good. The pastrami is warm and thick sliced, juicy and tender. The rye bread is thin, so the pastrami is the star. Located in the GCM, it’s the next best pastrami I’ve ever had.

I came here for a breakfast sandwich on a Sunday morning. I got the bagel sandwich with egg, pastrami, cheddar cheese, and cream cheese. The sandwich was great! It was a bit sloppy to eat, but the flavors and textures worked well together. The pastrami was diced up, hash-style. The bagel was soft and chewy. I would recommend this…

Best pastrami sandwich! A little too fatty and the slices I prefer to be way thinner, but the MacArthur Park was a great sandwich nonetheless. I will be back for more!

I’ve only had breakfast here. The people were very friendly, but I wasn’t really feeling it. I had the bagels, both the Big Poppa as well as half a lox and cream cheese and sturgeon and cream cheese. The Big Poppa wasn’t anything out of the ordinary. The lox was really good, but again nothing out of the ordinary and the sturgeon wasn’t that great. I’d like to try their pastrami to see if it lives up to the hype, but after having the bagels, I’m not so sure I want to waste my time in line.

I’ve been here a couple times and Wexler’s has really grown on me. Both the Reuben and the MacArthur Park are solid sandwiches with fat slices of meat. The prices are a little high, but that seems to be the norm for the newly renovated Grand Central Market… so typical for what you’d get from most of their immediate neighbors. My first time I felt the sandwich was a little bland, but as I kept coming back, it kept hitting the spot, so maybe give it a couple shots before making a final judgment. Also, boxed water is silly.

First time at Grand Central Market and i heard good things about Wexler’s. I was pretty unimpressed. We got the MacArthur and the L. A Bird. The MacArthur was good. I actually really liked this one but the L. A Bird was not my favorite. I’m not a fan of horseradish ATALL. Hate wasabi too. They smother the L. A bird with horseradish and I just could not enjoy it. I’m sure though if you like horseradish — the sandwich would be good. NOTGREAT but good. It just seemed like an average overpriced deli.

One of the best corned beef sandwiches I’ve ever had. They cut it thick, almost like brisket, but it’s absolutely and deliciously corned beef. Juicy, too, without it being messy and dripping. Very good. The rye bread was good, too; a fine complement to house the meat. I got a side of the cole slaw, which is a wet and more of the white than the clear variety. Not too wet, and not too sweet, either. Like the Corned Beer, worth springing for. The lox and bagel is very good: the house-smoked lox has an almost buttery quality to it. I really enjoyed it(on an everything bagel). I wish that there was just a bit more lox on it. I savored it, to be sure, in part because its appearance indicated that it wasn’t that big. It comes standard with red onion and capers, so SPEAKUP if you want to modify that. I asked for easy cream cheese, and no capers. They got it mostly right, but there were still a few capers sneaked in to my sandwich. I want to try their sturgeon, and I want to try their whitefish salad — which doesn’t show up all the time, as far as I can see. I gawked at their Black n White cookies the first time. I made a specific trip to try them the next time. I’m told they’re made by some little old lady. OK. And they’re $ 4, which seemed pricy. There is a cost for craftwork, which this appeared to be. So, I got a couple, and yes — they’re good. Not too sweet, and certainly no lemony overtones that sometime show up in Black n Whites. Their bagels are great — reminiscent of Brooklyn Bagels(over on Beverly Blvd, not the Larry King wanna-bes). But these bagels are made especially for Wexler’s. I’ve been a few times, and there’s much to recommend here.

3.5 Solid bagel dish! So I just finished my breakie at the Egg Slut and I knew I wanted to take a dish to go back to OC. So why not try another vendor without the weekend and lunch clusterfuck. I wanted to take some pupusas home but I really need to try something else LOL. Seriously, I’m addicted to Saritas. Anywho, I walk up to Wexlers and the nice woman at the counter greets me. I’m usually a lox bagel girl. With most bagel shops, that’s the only fish they usually have on deck. So when I saw smoked sturgeon on the menu, I was excited. I ordered that and she asked which bagel, I’m usually boring when it comes to a lox bagel but she convinced me on an everything bagel. Believe it or not, I’ve never had one, so why not today! I almost ordered potato salad but damn I really didn’t feel like spending that much for a casual bite. Food was ready in a timely manner and I was off to OC: D After that drive, it’s about time for lunch LOL. I already carbed it up at Egg Slut, but I didn’t give a damn carb meal numero dos. I work out a lot and I deserved it :) So I unwrap the butcher paper and dig in. The bagel looked great!!! The bagel was dressed nicely. I could have used a little extra fish. It did get a little lost in the cream cheese, red onions and all the lovely seasonings that comes with the outside of an everything bagel. The bagel itself was nice and fresh. Not to doughy and definitely not stale. So I can see myself happily content with their bagel and cream cheese. The sturgeon was very fresh and I loved the thinly sliced red onions. Usually red onions stay with me through out the day but they did it right! Overall I was content with my Scooby snack. I would come back again only someone else’s dime LOL because I want potato salad, a drink or sides, I just don’t want to get wallet raped over 15 bucks for it HAHA. Also I have to check out other vendors at the Grand central market: D

Wexler’s Deli makes the most scrumptious bagel, pastrami, egg, cream cheese, and cheddar breakfast sandwich! It’s like a Jewish grandmother’s warm hug and the best comfort food all rolled into one. At $ 9, it’s super filling, satisfying, balanced, and simply perfection. It’s such a delicious breakfast item that it’s the only thing I’ve ever had at Wexler’s! I’ve heard their pastrami sandwich and lox bagel are also amazing so maybe someday I’ll try other items on the menu. Wexler’s Deli is conveniently located in the Grand Central Market. Service is generally friendly and efficient. Dine in or take your deli goodies to go, you can’t go wrong!

You can’t beat their smoked salmon here, and previously I’ve had many great experiences here! On my latest visit 2 things bugged me a bit, first of all the everything bagel was so salty that I to stop and scrape off the excess salt on the crust. It was more salty than a pretzel! I love salty food but that interfered with my enjoyment of the smoked salmon flavor. The second thing that was a bit off-putting was the price tag, which was a bit more than $ 15 for 1 bagel. This won’t deter me from returning, but this definitely won’t be a regular indulgence with that price tag! Bottom line: Food — great smoked salmon, watch out for the salty everything bagel! Service — friendly cashier w/prompt service Ambiance — the grand central market is super cool & a fun place to grab a bite Go for it, but be prepared to pay a bit more than you’re used to for a bagel!

***Wexler’s Deli serves a satisfying and definitely made-from-scracth pastrami sandwich that draws inspiration from the famous Langer’s #19 sandwich though Wexler’s version does not quite match that great sandwich*** Wexler’s Deli is one of the many upscale eateries at Grand Central Market in Downtown Los Angeles. Like many dining options here, Wexler’s Deli features made-from-scratch cuisine and it is definitely noticeable. The kitchen at Wexler’s Deli smokes all of their meats and fish in-house and you can definitely taste it as their pastrami has both a unique bark as well as a tender center. Wexler’s Deli utilizes that thick cut pastrami to make the MacArthur Park sandwich, an obvious tribute to the famous #19 sandwich at Langer’s Deli(which sits next to MacArthur Park). Like Langer’s sandwich, the variation at Wexler’s adds Russian dressing for sweetness and a serving of coleslaw. The sandwich is also served on rye bread and includes a layer of Swiss cheese. The sandwich at Wexler’s Deli does not quite manage to live up to Langer’s preparation though for a few reasons. There is not enough Russian dressing in Wexler’s version so you do not get that sweetness to balance out the saltiness of the pastrami. There is also not enough coleslaw in the MacArthur Park. Langer’s generous portion of coleslaw helps make that sandwich feel lighter and less of a meat heavy and overly salty sandwich. The pastrami is similar though. Like Langer’s, Wexler’s Deli utilizes a very thick cut pastrami and it is extremely tender. The pastrami at Wexler’s though is not quite as moist. It also has a spiciness to it, which is probably caused by an abundance of pepper the kitchen uses in the bark. I think the heavy use of pepper would not be too overpowering though if there would have been more coleslaw and Russian dressing in the sandwich. For pastrami fans though, the kitchen at Wexler’s is very generous with the meat. The rye bread is good. I would have preferred the bread to be more toasted, but I did like the crispy, crunchy toast. The layer of Swiss cheese is thin but good. I also added the potato salad and housemade pickles. The potato salad was nothing special though the pickles had a nice snap to them – definitely on the vinegary side though. Service was quick. Prices are not too high as the food here is very filling and I think all of their sandwiches are under $ 15. I think if you are looking for a great pastrami sandwich, I would head to Langer’s first. However, if you are a big deli fan, I think Wexler’s Deli is definitely worth a shot. Parking in Downtown Los Angeles is expensive. There is a pay parking lot across the street from Grand Central Market. The parking lot is $ 5.50 per vehicle on Saturdays and Sundays.
