Dr. Lazo is terrific — professional, kind, knowledgeable and patient. Grateful to find a new dentist that I can trust. Not an easy feat.
The staff is wonderful.
Suggestion: Do your homework in regards to your dental insurance coverage.

I must say this is the worst place for customer service. I agree with the rest of you. It is hard to believe they get away with so much. From paperwork to Dental work, this place is ridiculous! If you want to throw your hard earned money away then go to Western Dental, Marvista. They do not care how you feel about the service you receive. Only that you pay for it. I am so unhappy and regret ever having my dental work done there. If you are considering them, I encourage you to read these reviews and take this warning. I give Western Dental a minus five stars! Honestly, do not use them. You will be sorry.

Wish I can give this place negative starts! Horrible service! Please don’t waste ur time here. I had an appointment for my 20 month old daughter that a booked more than a month in advance. I take the day off from work to receive a call a day before very late by the way to inform me the doctor was over booked and they had cancel my appointment. I informed her I couldn’t not rescheduled when I booked so ahead of time. She replied «well you can come in but The wait will be 2 hrs!» How is this possible! My Huspand and I will not return for any more Dental work for ourselves and we will find a much better place for us and our daughter!

I live in walking distance to this dentist’s office, and they take my insurance. Here goes… I expected it to be WORSE because of the bad reviews. There’s a bunch of pissed off people.
Here’s my honest assessment as a FIRST time customer:
1– I did have to wait for an hour after showing up at 10:00 AM for my appointment. 0 points for this.
2– Xray lady was sweet and seemed to be in the know about Xrays. She got points from me on that.
3– I joked around with the dentist dude and he seemed to be a confident type of guy. Nothing seemed to shake him off his balance and I did throw a couple jabs, like telling him that he needs to give me extra shots (which I really have a low pain threshold), and asking him how long he’d been doing this kind of work… You want to know if your Dentist just graduated or not. This is not to sound racist, but I liked he was Asian, and I know being part Asian, we are very thorough in our work (at least I know I am). During my dental procedure he seemed to be really thorough and was very focused. He seemed genuinely concerned about my concern for PAIN.
He got very high points for this.
4– Had to get a root canal and crown in one day. OY! They told me it would take a little over an hour. I know that kind of dental work takes way longer than an hour (DOH), so that’s just common sense (root canal + crown, oh yeah). 0 points for this.
5– Staff was friendly overall. Gave them high point for this.
6– Guy explaining how much my procedures would cost was thorough in his explanation. Got high points.
7– Lobby was clean. Bathrooms very clean. Give them high points for this.
Would I go back? Yes. Actually, I really do have to go back to get my permanent crown. I will do an update if the tooth or anything has issues for sure. But so far, I didn’t get a sense these people do bad work. I do agree that the wait time could use improvement, but I would like to add, I have never been to any doctor’s office where they are EV-​er on time. EV-​er.

To begin, I choose Western Dental because my insurance is covered in this poor establishment. I scheduled my first appointment on behalf of the tremendous amount of pain I was feeling in my mouth. The receptionist was friendly and helped me schedule my first appointment. As I am checking into my appointment the lady tells me my appointment was scheduled for the following day. A little annoyed, I left and returned the next day. When I got to Western Dental the following day I felt as if none of my needs/​worries were even considered. I explained the amount of pain I was going through but it was in one ear out the other. After x-​rays and a brief look in my mouth, the nurse told me I had a bone infection in my jaw and needed a deep clean. I returned a week later to receive the deep clean. I left the office crying hysterically because 1) the dentist was so rough and 2) I was leaving in worse pain then I got there in. They did not even ask me if I was ok. They just dismissed me as if I wasn’t important enough. So, after receiving this treatment it all went down hill for me. The following 2 weeks were horrible, I could not eat or sleep. The left side of my face was swollen for three weeks. I had absolutely no idea what was going on in my mouth because nothing was explained to me. I went to my primary doctor who also could not figure out the problem. Being the kind personable women she is, she recommended me to a head and neck surgeon because she could see the pain I was in. After seeing the surgeon I found out I had a severe case of tmj (temporomandibular joint disorder). Something commonly cured by you’re dentists. Anyways to wrap this up, my visit to this establishment only made my pain worse and now my chances are risky of being able to cure this disorder without surgery. Oh and I forgot to mention. Not once did this establishment contact me to see if I was feeling better. However I received five calls daily asking me to pay. I don’t think it is that unreasonable for me to be upset considering I have had to pay five different doctors/​surgeons because western dental did not want to acknowledge the pain I was going through when I stated the left side of my mouth hurts. Instead, i felt as if they just choose something to make money off of me. Thanks western dental you really don’t know how to make people smile.

Worst customer service. Made an appointment for 8:30 am on a Saturday and didn’t get seen until 9:15…45 minutes later! I’ve had the same issue every time I come to this location whether it be in the morning or afternoon. They have the worst staff at the reception area. Don’t bother coming to this place unless you want to wait for HOURS!

BEWARE! My experience was a nightmare. I was scheduled to get my wisdom teeth out about 6 months ago. My appointment was at 12noon, and I was 30 min early. (Since I would not want to make anybody wait) I waited at the waiting room for (no joke) 3 hours. They told me to have lunch since I won’t be able to eat for afterwards for a while. After my 30 min lunch, they took me to the treatment room. I waited there for another 2.5 hours. Dr came at 5:30!!! He said «I’m sorry to make you wait this long but I didn’t bring my head light today. We need to schedule you for next month!». The most obnoxious thing I have ever heard in my life! After waiting 5 and a half hours, you hear this, how would you feel? My entire day wasted!!! People should be more respectful to one another. There are tone of customer service reps, managers out there. None of could not figure this out?! Dr came to the office at 12 noon! He didn’t bring his dreaming head light, they could have let me know, so I would not have waited there forever. Here, everybody can see the Western Dental’ s careless customer service and management.

All the dentist’s I knew are now gone. I can’t understand this new dentist’s accent so there is a breakdown of communication. I don’t think he understands me either. I can’t have a decent exchange with him about what needs to be done.
The lab they use to have your dental implants ready are awful and don’t stand up to the standard’s set by the dental Association. Without getting into too much detail let me just finally say if you’re looking for a dentist keep looking and pass up this place!, don’t say I didn’t warn you.

I don’t write many reviews, but I feel compelled to after receiving 3 emails from the office SEVEN MONTHS after my appointment.
1^st visit — I wanted a cleaning and x-​rays to see what work needs to be done. I also wanted to order a night guard because I grind my teeth while I sleep.
I waited 1 hour in the waiting room. Then a tech did some xrays that took 45 minutes because she had to re-​do many of them. Then they sat me in a chair and I waited there for 45 minutes to an hour. During that time, I asked 3 times when I was going to be helped and they kept saying the dentist is reviewing your xrays, she’ll be with you soon. What BS. I told them I have to go and to give me an appointment early Saturday morning when they are less busy and I can quickly be helped. Oh, and two people, whom I did not meet, came up to me and told me I need 2 fillings and a tooth pulled and then proceeded to tell me they are not sure and the dentist will tell me.
NO WORK DONE and was there for approx. 3 hours, probably more.
2^nd visit — 8AM Saturday morning; fairly empty.
I went in after 10 minutes. I paid for a filling and the night guard before sitting or seeing a dentist because they said they knew the work was going to be done today.
I sat on the chair for one hour while there were only 2 other patients being helped. I asked time and time again what is going on and they kept saying the dentist will be with you soon. Then a tech or someone came and said there’s no way I could get the night guard molding today because I am due for a cleaning and a filling, which would change the shape of the night guard. Then I waited, again for people who do not communicate to each other. I got so angry after waiting in the chair playing solitaire for over an hour I went to the cashier, got my refund and left.
NO WORK DONE AGAIN. Not even a simple cleaning.
It’s upsetting when you wait and wait over the span of two appointments and then they reveal their own confusion as to what should be done to you. As a patient, they did not make me feel safe; I do not trust any person in that office and I recommend no one else goes in either.

Only choose this dentist if you have ²⁄₃ hours to spare each time you have an appointment and you like waiting around. Its 12.40 right now and I’m waiting for my 11am filling appointment to start.
I read the reviews before choosing this dentist but thought «it can’t be that bad.» But it is. My first appointment I only waited 20 minutes to be seen and the service was great. Every visit after that has been a disaster. You wait for maybe an hour in the waiting room, then when you finally get a chair, you just wait some more. After 30 mins, someone comes and numbs your mouth, then you wait approx 45 more minutes before your actual treatment starts.
I started a treatment plan prescribed by one dentist. A few weeks later, another dentist does more X-​rays and completely changes the plan. They try to add on additional treatment without talking it over with you and when you question it (what if a third dentist decided on a totally different treatment plan?) they just shrug at you. I’m finishing my initial treatment plan because I’ve already paid for it but I would never come back here.
Terrible terrible service. Avoid if you can.

I showed up for my first appointment this morning at 10:00 a.m. The front of the business was a pig pen — they don’t bother to sweep and the filth obviously doesn’t bother them. They opened the business at 10:07 and my appointment was for 10:00 a.m. One of the people waiting outside past 10:00 was an employee, and she didn’t bother to tell us what was going on. Professional? I don’t think so. They’re not touching my teeth — I told them to take me off the appointment list.

Do. Not. Go. Here. I really don’t like to give bad reviews but after giving this office several attempts to make things right with no reply, I have to share my experience. 1) they overbook the hygienists with too many patients, so the hygienists are understandably cranky and rushing around patient to patient — and if you wait forever and complain, their customer service is horrible. 2) After years of no cavities and great oral health they told me I should have 5 fillings done. 5?!? I allowed them to do 3 and that was a huge mistake. They numbed my mouth for 1.5hrs before they came back to do the procedure (what?!?) Then during the procedure the hygienist drilled too deep to the point I was in pain and she just brushed it off and said that I needed it. IT HAS BEEN A YEAR and I’m still sensitive to chew on that side of my mouth. 3) My wallet was STOLEN right out of my purse during my appointment — by another patient — in broad daylight. The only reason I figured out it was stolen was because I asked to check out the garbage near where I sat and low and behold, one of my credit cards was in it. After many weeks attempting to get security footage from their «headquarters» with no reply, I just gave up on pursuing anything further. I wish I hadn’t.
Now that I’m seeing another dentist (Go to Serenity Dental! They rock!) I am still trying to obtain my records from last year and they claim they will email them to me but I still haven’t received anything. I hope this will at least result in a reply from their customer service.

2 stars because I am being super generous since the dentist «tried» to help us. However she is only there for once a month and had to deal with the incompetence of the previous dentist who was trying to drill into a cavity that she couldn’t find 2 weeks before at Western Dental.(same location).
The staff there are the most inept that you will encounter. They lost the sheet from our previous visit when my kids had their teeth cleaned and X-​rays taken. They were trying to do that AGAIN!!! Expose children to X-​rays and chemicals because THEY lost a folder. The manager tried to have me sign a document that says «we refused» to have the teeth cleaned.
They were trying to push cleaning on us after a 2 week visit because it’s «FREE anyways»
Never going back there again. If you are paid to fix these reviews for this business, do not try to contact me please. Unless you get a whole set of new employees that are more efficient.

After my Unilocal review one of the head people called me from Western Dental, very nice lady. I’ll just say our next appointment we were seen right away and things went very smoothly. I like the fact that someone took the time to call me and ask how they can do better.

I know most reviews about Western Dental are awful, but so far they’ve been decent to me. I agree, if you aren’t smart they probably will try to take advantage of you. I basically picked apart their recommendations, told them what I would pay for and they stopped trying to talk me into stuff. I also tell them I’ll just reschedule if I have to wait more than 15 mins and then they squeeze me in. If you don’t let places like this screw you around, they probably won’t. I like the dentists, assistants and Maria, so until I have a real issue, I’ll continue to go here.

HORRIBLE!
I made an appointment over a week ago, for a tooth extraction, among other things. I told them I had a broken tooth, that needed taken out ASAP. The appointment was for Saturday morning, which seemed great…
BUT! At 6pm on Friday, they called, saying they had to cancel my appointment, because «corporate changed our dentists.» When I called back, the person answering the phone had no clue, but said my appointment was cancelled for «another reason.»
6pm on a Friday. No chance in hell I’ll be able to find another dentist today, let alone get an appointment for another week, at best.
So thanks to Western Dental, I get to enjoy a tooth literally breaking apart in my mouth. YAY!

This place is horrid. The staff could care less about patients. Every single time I come here there is a wait. Have you ever tried to wait over an hour with an infant? Yeah, it’s really a hoot. They need to get it together.
The lobby doesn’t look clean. The floors look pretty gnarly, and I see there’s some bubblegum affixed to the ceiling. They did put in some effort by slapping around some Halloween décor.
Basically what I’m trying to say is this place sucks. If you enjoy waiting around you’ll love this place.

DO NOT GO TO THIS DENTAL OFFICE!!! Man, I gave them so many chances to change my mind about them, but Every. Single. Time. I go, I get a bad experience!!!
The several times I’ve gone before, the wait was horrendous. But then, I had scheduled my appointments after I got out from work around 4pm, so I figured the long wait is justified since in getting there at the end of the day. But this time, I scheduled my appointment on my day off at 9am so I can be the first one there and just get everything over with before I go to my next appointment (non-​dental) at 12. When I got there, they said the dentist is coming in late so I was moved to 10am. It is now 1130, I’m going to be late to my next appointment and I haven’t even been seen yet!!!
I will never come here again. The staff lacks professionalism, I am very unimpressed. I’m actually offended. Their only redeeming quality is one of the dentists. There are 2 dentists, one a younger female and the other an older female dentist. I forgot her name, but the older female dentist was very nice. She did my fillings on my second visit and was very informative and patient with me (after a very long wait in the waiting room). However, the rest of the qualities of this dental office are lower than sub par.
I have other stories of horrible work ethic (some of the xray techs seem to be quite unknowledgeable). I will never go to this dental office again and I advise everyone else considering this dental office to stay away.

I think they spent a lot of money on all those 5 star reviews. We had two appointments for me and husband 11:00 and 11:30. After signing all the forms at 10:45 and waiting for another 40 mins my husband was taken inside. What you do when you are bored at docs room, without any doctor or nurse or anyone taking care of you? You start texting you wife who is in the waiting room. I was taken inside 10 mins later at around 11:45, by my husband’a request. He had his X-​ray done (which later turned out to be incomplete so they took him to the machine and did another shot), and I informed I didn’t want an X-​ray, so the doctor was supposed to visually examine me.
Waiting, waiting, waiting…
Doc came in to the room to interpret the X-​Ray. After she did it, I was taken to another chair (not really in a separate room but kind of in the hallway passage, like a room without a door-​one of the walls missing, the one opening toward the hallway).
Waiting waiting waiting…
Then happened what is on the pic… A maintenance person came with a ladder and boxes and tools. The person on the chair had left, getting tired of waiting.
Wondering around, looking for my husband and feeling frustrated… Waiting, waiting…
At 13:15 I bumped to a nurse/​office staff and asked her if there was another doctor/​assistant taking care of patients? As I didn’t ask in nice voice and was very frustrated, the answer was «there is, yes!». The reality was a big NO! the same doc finally cleaned my teeth at 13:25, left to deal with another patient, and cleaned my husband’a teeth at 13:45. For both of us, she left the final stage (after cleaning, the polishing) to be completed by an assistant. She was a nice doc, but had to many patients to deal with.
Polishing for my husband completed at 14:00.
