Westchester Parents Nursery School

We had horrible experience at this school!!! We singed up for the summer program — they seemed to have a wonderful facility with many different rooms, including dress up room and art room, so sad my son didn’t get to try does even once, the teachers were to lazy I guess to take him up there. why bother if you can just sit outside whole day (less clean up and work and still get payed the same, right? :()The worst is that they lied in my face that my son goes there everyday!!! One teacher Sue said he doesn’t remember, which is crazy to say for a sane, intelligent little boy who loves to paint and dress up and is not a lier. He clearly said to me he has never played in the dress up room or painted with paints! If he did, he would be so excited and happy and will tell me when i was asking him, he would have paint on his cloths etc. Another teacher said they didn’t have enough kids to go up there! i was just fed up with their lies and talking like my son is a lier in front of the child. After the first day he did not want to go back at all. this is a sign of bad school for sure! The next day he was just holding to me and didn’t want to let go and was crying to not leave him there. This has never happened before at any preschool or child care! Too bad the summer program sounded so great with a lot of awesome activities, it was just a trap to get you sign in and prepay!!! What it turned out to be was just words put on paper :(Look at the first week description — Moon Bounce, Space Command Station, Moon Box cars, Rocket Lunchers, Robot building, solar System and visitors from outer space!!! Sounds great — yes! Instead there was small pools with water, jelly, sand, bubbles every single day for the 5 days we were there, and even though I didn’t want my kid in the water, the teachers just could care less what the parent wants! I said that I don’t want my kid to be wet all day and get sick, to which teacher Sue said that «it’s ok, kids do get sick all the time, it’s not a big deal, it’s good for their immune system» That day my kid was wet and not changed when I picked him up, he got cold and the next day when i picked him he had runny nose. The rest of the week He developed fever, bad cough, runny nose and on Monday he was not fit for school. I emailed to ask if I could exchange the day with another as he needed to stay home, to which I got no
turns out they just want to make your kid sick and then have less kids to watch, but still keep your money for all the days he is sick!!!$ 40 for 5 hours each day. But their summer flyer said that they are going to be accommodating! Few other things that made me really worried were — My son didn’t get any water the first day of school — the excuse was, we will do better tomorrow and, he was mostly on the shade! They complained to me about bringing kefir for kids with a safety cap (that only grown ups can open” and told me not to bring those anymore as it’s not safe for the little kids! All they had to do is open it and trow it in the garbage — simple! But i guess they didn’t want to assist to my son at all, his organic banana was all waisted when he drooped it on the ground while trying to pill it himself :(There is more… when my husband came to see the school and pick my son up, he saw some teens laying on the floor and kissing inside the school, yuk! The last day that my son was at WPNS I again requested not to have him in the water as he was still recovering from being very sick. When I came to pick him up he was all wet, even though they had changed him ones, he had no hat, as the hat had gotten wet — 5 hours on the strong July sun is not a joke! and his face was bright red. I have the pictures! He got a big white mole that he didn’t have before and that is the thing that stays for life, I’m so pissed about that the most! They had iguana and some other animal there, but my son never got to see them. He never got to play in the dress up room. He did not get to use all the other nice facilities they had as the teachers did not show much interest to engage the kids in something that may be exciting to them. They just went with the easiest, laziest
son was not greeted and taken to a station where he feels happy and engaged :(he did not get any of the activities described in the summer program. He was not allowed to clime on the slide’s sides that are meant for climbing… I suspect the preschool is better during the year as they have parents working there, but the summer program was really bad… There is more… But I have no time to write it all, just shocking! For me it was a huge disappointment, waste of time and money and unnecessary nerves! I do not want to see the faces of those teachers and my son is happy not to go there anymore! Do not recommend!

Best preschool around!!! I am so happy I found WPNS it’s the perfect fit for our family. Great teachers, community and environment.

This looks like a cute, friendly, educational, well-​run nursery that both encourage and supports. I just wished that they had more time options.

We visited a LOT of preschools in the area and while many if them offered a good opportunity, WPNS offered everything that our family was looking for and just felt like the right place for us to be.
His fall our two and a half year old son started and he attends two half days per week. The school is convenient and close to our home, the staff is excellent, and we really love the philosophy of the school. Children truly do learn through play and this school truly embraces this way of learning. We look forward to many more years at WPNS!

I went here for the first time last week, to one of their Mommy and Me classes. My daughter and I LOVED it! Because of the one negative review, I was sort of anticipating some «fake nice» people. WHAT? NOT AT ALL! In fact, I found the staff, including the teachers, to be some of the most genuine people I’ve ever met in the education community. It’s clear that they LOVE what they do, want parents and kids to feel a part of the community, and for what it’s worth, my normally off-​put daughter was sitting in the teacher’s lap 15 minutes in and chatting up a storm. I’ve told loads of people about this obviously special place and will certainly be signing up for the remainder of the Mommy and Me class!

Incredible, supportive atmosphere for both parents and kiddos! My kids have adored this school, with its multitude of FUN choices~painting, writing, drama (to name a few) not to mention a fantastic pre-​K program. They’ve also started a much-​anticipated Mommy and Me class! This school has given my family a sense of community in the urban-​ness of LA. HIGHLY recommend. :)

I checked this place out and was not impressed. The staff seemed really fake nice to me. We will not be back.

my kids love it here. they never want to leave! Plus, a great community of parents.
