The dudes who work here are wonderful people! They’re super helpful and patient when you’re indecisive of your order, and are quick to clean up after you. Their baked sushi rolls are bomb! I personally ALWAYS get the Snow Cone Roll or the Baked Salmon Roll. The fish is a lot fresher than that of Soy, and the restaurant itself is so much cuter. They also serve a wide selection of Boba and Milk Teas, if you want a quick sweet tooth fix after. Prices are slightly cheaper than Soy as well. I would rate the food here 4 stars, but +1 because the staff is so nice and make you feel like a valued customer. Unlike Soy(the sushi place under Gateway.) I love this place so much. Their rolls are modestly priced and great quality. I’d personally go with their classic Crunch Roll. Roughly $ 8 and a good amount of food! They also have really good fruit smoothies and slushies, with or without boba of course. A good variety of teas(go for their matcha ;)) and espresso/coffee beverages! Good vibes in Volcano. Staff is cool too!

I love coming here to get a milk tea before going to get my nails done. This place is always clean. They have a great sitting are and some good food. They also have a rewards system. 9 drinks and get the 10th free! Better than Starbucks for sure!

This is the best sushi and boba in los angeles… the dragon rolls are the best and dont forget to add the crunch to it… and ask for extra Wasabi to mix with soy sauce

My first time here and I’m currently having lunch while writing this review. I’m having the baked snow cone roll, California roll and honey jasmine milk tea boba. I work in the area and I was craving sushi so I found this spot on Unilocal and the pictures looked so good. I have to say that everything I’m having is delicious! It’s definitely worthy of 5 stars. Whoever the chef is, thank you. The guy at the counter who helped me was very nice and my food came out fast. I’m really satisfied with today’s lunch!

I really like this place. I almost always get the chicken bowl cuz it’s only $ 5, but I have recently discovered the the el special roll is really good as well. The boba smoothies are also pretty good.

Horrible customer service. I ordered a honey jasmine milk tea that barely tasted like slightly sweetened milk. I waited for about 30 minutes for my drink as well. I kindly let the girl calling out the orders know that I thought my drink wasn’t made correctly. Without even looking at me she grabs my drink and angrily states that they would make me a new one. She then proceeds to tell the girls making the drinks that I said its tasted like milk. To which the another girl responds, «what does she expect, it has milk in it» I was furious… The second drink tasted exactly the same. I don’t think I’ll be coming back.

Yea, It’s our new go-to place for sushi and it’s pretty close by. Their rolls are pretty tasty. We’ve tried a few items, including the boba chocolate icee(both with and without the boba)(I prefer without) so far everything’s delicious. The worst thing about going is the parking, but if you call your order in it’s better. It also depends on the time and day of the week you go.

I like coming here for the strawberry milk tea and snowcone sushi and chicken bowl but I don’t like that they charge for teriyaki sauce now… it used to be freeeee

Came here to grab some boba with friends thinking it would be good. It was alright. The drinks are a little more on the sweet side. If you want to get boba, you might want to try a different add on because their boba kinda sucks. I haven’t tried their food, but there seemed to be a lot of people eating there when I went.

I do not like boba very much, so I get all my drinks without boba. I have tried the Japanese Matcha Milk Tea and the Rose Milk Tea, both were made wonderfully. Quenched my thirst for milk tea. Unfortunately, they only take cash at the Little Osaka location. You are able to use your card at the USC location. The service at each place is completely different. Uhm, customer service is a hit or miss now a days, so yeah.

I happened to randomly wandered in here for dinner Udon– 2 star, California roll– 4 stars, Overall 3 stars Got the Udon and California roll combo for 7 $, and it was okay filling. The Udon, the broth kind of tasted like soy sauce with water. It was hot and the noodles were good and cooked well but I wasn’t a fan of the broth at all. I actually liked the California roll! Each piece was large and tasted good.

Its my second time here. The food comes out quickly and the workers are sweet. The combos are great portion sizes and 8.99 for a pick 2. Milk teas are 3.25 which is kind of pricy because they are syrup based/average at best. I get their strawberry green tea with lychee. I would give them a 3.5!

Their boba is pretty good I would actually recommend this place for boba. If your looking for a sushi this place would probably be my second option it was ok. I order a bento box which wasn’t all that, sorry but I’ve tasted better and the price for their sushi is a little too much.

FOOD If you are a fan of sushi rolls and boba and live near USC, Volcano is the place for you. Some of the best tasting sushi rolls at very affordable price. Crunch Roll is always a solid choice, and Snow Cone Roll is my favorite. SERVICE The service at Volcano could be little cumbersome, but it’s not like it’d be impossible for order. All is good when the food comes to your table. TIPS 3 rolls for two people is a solid portion. Volcano offers 2%-10% cashback, depending on time of the day, on Mogl. You can sign up through or use KevinPark in the promo code section in the app. They also offer 1 free drink per 7 points on FiveStars.

Hmm. pretty mediocre place in my opinion. But one of the two places you can get boba around USC I guess. Came here with my friend and we both got a drink and the bento box. First off, the boba was almost a solid. I’ve heard a couple people say their boba drinks are actually quite good but this was way below my expectation. I got the spicy salmon sushi and salmon teriyaki in my bento box and it was also just okay. But for ~$ 8 I can’t ask for much! Orange was good though! My friend got the chicken katsu and california roll and said those were not very great. Overall, I would choose to go elsewhere for my food. There are definitely better places around USC for the same price.

I am a returning customer to Volcano because of their Kalbi BBQ Ribs. For about $ 10(which isn’t that expensive compared to most other Korean BBQ prices), you get a filling portion of really well sauced and cooked BBQ Ribs, a side of rice, a soup, a small side salad and even an orange for garnish and dessert. I usually eat half and save the rest for later. Volcano is my go-to for a quick take out meal. I call 10 minutes ahead of time to put my order in and they always have it ready before I get there. There’s a small lot for the square of shops but I’ve never had much trouble finding an open spot. The boba I’ve had there is good, but only for the area. I prefer other shops nearby, but it’s not the worst I’ve ever had. I like their tapioca. Their service is pretty basic, as in they have a «we get things done quickly» policy. They won’t really make you feel super happy or comfortable, but it’s never an issue for when I go in. They also offer free wifi and have several tables for studying and dining in. The place is a little too fluorescent for me, but I imagine it would be a good option for someone looking to snack and study at the same time. Also great that they are open until midnight, but their kitchen closes around 9:30.

Clean, hip and always a full house, Volcano is a good source for sushi. A bit expensive but when it comes to a delicacy like raw fish you should get what you pay for. Didn’t wait too long to be served. Appetizers were good. Had the calamari, which was not overlooked and tasted fresh. Volcano is s bit out of my way but if ever my path leads me here and it’s sushi I crave then I’ll stop in once more.
