Vision 21 Art & Design Portfolio School

This academy is really one you DO NOT want to send your kids to. My biggest complaint is about the director who only focuses on corralling students to make a profit for herself. I speak from personal experience. She director had me pay $ 300 for supplies that averaged $ 150(I got the real price from a private and expert art instructor).
The director’s attitude is filthy and disgusting (not to mention her two-​faced personality).
Also I believe that the instructors there are useless themselves. I signed myself up for life drawing and instead, I was placed separate from the other students with the instructor only focusing on them, totally disregarding me. To pay for such an indescribable amount of money for that kind of lesson and treatment, I would rather make my own portfolio (and would probably do better). Oh! I forgot to mention. I was excepted into Parsons School of Design with a $ 16,000 scholarship, Pepperdine, UD, Purdue, LMU, CalPoly SLO, USF, Syracuse, and Drexel to take part of their Fine Arts Programs without the help of Vision 21.
The environment of the academy is one you would really hate. I got the feeling of judgement and disgust by both the kids and instructors. ART IS ABOUT ENJOYMENT AND FUN, but all I experienced about that place was judgement and stress.
In summary, I really discourage anyone from attending this «academy» because the director has only one purpose: to scam you to pay more, and the instructors being unskilled.

Worst ever. Staff was very rude and bad mouthed! Never going back! Never go there if you want real help. dont get the director as the teacher. She is the worst!

I would not recommend sending any students to this art school. It’s unfortunate to see such a useful program being solely operated by a director whose mindset is not for the better of the students. I’m sure the other art instructors that are working there have the proper tools and skills to teach students valuable tools to further their careers in the art community. I’m only speaking from experience dealing with the director.
There director, Angie has serious issues. I worked with children for a few years at an elementary school and I would definitely not recommend sending my kids to someone who is mentally unstable and very disturbed.

I am in awe of these art instructors. They are absolutely amazing and can tremendously improve your portfolio and your art skills. The one instructor who is tremendous and helped me out the most is Leo Kim. Because of Leo and vision 21, my dreams came true and I got into Yales art program. To go along with Yale, I also got into RISD, MICA, Parsons, Otis and Pratt. God bless vision 21 and especially Leo Kim.

I worked at this school a year ago. If you want your kids to go to a top college send them here. People complain. But I think the results speak. Some these reviews are short lived and biased.

As a professional photographer and art enthusiast, I was looking for a great place in Los Angeles to help put my design portfolio together. Vision 21 Art Studio is great!
The instructors are really friendly, polite and professional. I love the ambiance and really admire the passionate staff here.

Vision 21 Art & Design Portfolio School’s great. I really love working with the instructors. They are attentive, passionate and you can really tell that they love what they do through their work. School provides a great environment for students and I would highly recommend to others looking to build a great portfolio if they are applying for visual & design schools.

This place has moved to a bigger building and it’s phenomenal how much it has grown in the past couple years. They have a stage, a room dedicated to figure drawing, and a glass computer lab. I also heard they have 9 locations already.
My brother has attended this school for 2 years now and raves about it every time he comes back home. So much to the point where I had to just send him back there to shut up.
As for the instructors, they must be good because he can now draw a human being proportionately while I still use sticks to draw pirate maps on sand. Touché lil’ one.

After many unwanted calls to my cell and dad’s, I requested to be put me on their do-​not-​call-​list, they stopped calling. Then I received a text from an unidentified number, «PLEASE CALL» (all caps), so i call. AND IT’S VISION 21!!! They had the nerve to ask for my mom’s number.
