Eh. phở was okay. Little bit of meat. Large amount of noodles. Flavor was good but would like a fair amount of meat for their price. Place could be cleaner… they had a «B» grade. Waiter was great very attentive. will not be returning.

Wanted to try something close to my house that has big soups. The food was mediocre. Not much to talk about. I personally will not be back again. No ventilation and very hot

A great place for Phở… but this place is pretty darn good, and it’s in a part of town that you would not expect and am glad it’s here. Priced to match the neighborhood and lack of competition, still a good deal and well worth the price, all in all a very reliable place, with excellent service. If you want the best in town you will have to drive to Alhambra… if you want great phở on this side of town, come here.

Great service but the soup was so so, too salty and not much meat flavor. Rice paper rolls have too much noodle in side and a very thin meat wrapped

A whole in the wall Vietnamese restaurants that surprisingly was very good! The phở broth was delicious and the veggie plate had everything I wanted in it. Mushroom, bamboo shoots, tofu. Very delicious! The only thing I had a problem with was the water and my mushrooms being burnt. Service was good.

Hands down good phở, they didn’t skimp on the noodles, portions will def fill u up! I’d come back if I’m in the area again! Genuinely impressed — didn’t think it’d be legit.

Every time I come here the servers are so attentive and the phở is always consistently good. I go for the rare steak and meatballs always getting the brown rice noodles, they’re sturdier and so yummy! This is my new phở place when in need. Minus one star for their regular noodles being too flimsy for me.

Wow the veggie phở is the best I have ever tasted! Make sure you order it with their homemade for hours Spicy broth!!! No need to add anything else to make it taste amazing! It gets packed here at lunch time, when it starts to get«cold» outside… When it hits below 70 out come the sweaters and go for the phở! They have a lot of vegan options, spring rolls, even bahn mi sandwich made with tofu.

We got to this place and the guy was straight out rude and because of that we walked out. I mean if you have rude service then that will drive customers away.

Was in the neighborhood and decided to stop by for a bowl of Phở. The phở was pretty good, mild in flavor though. We also got egg rolls — these are tiny! 3 small/skinny egg rolls cut up for about 6 bucks. The boyfriend got the bun bowl and that was OK. Great service though, our server was really friendly and attentive. Good place to stop by if you’re in the area, but not the best for authentic Vietnamese food.

Their phở is so good. I dont know what it is, but their broth taste just right(and it’s all about the broth!). It tastes like they’ve been cooking it for a while. The portions are decent and their meats are good too. I’ve tasted a lot of the phở in ktown but this place tasted way better than any of their’s. I live super close to Vien café so im lucky, but if ktowners want some good phở, I’d come to Vien café.

This place is so ugly. The ambience is so tacky. Whoever decorated and renovated this place has poor taste. The food wasn’t even that good and it was really expensive in comparison to the phở restaurants in San Gabriel.

So happy I came here! This restaurant is literally walking distance from my place and good to know this gem is close by. This place is super casual, nice service and also pretty fast. I ordered the #15 Bun Cha Gio Tom Ga Nuong. Pretty darn good!!! This comes with chicken, shrimp and a roll. So freaking good. I’ve had this at other Vietnamese restaurants and this one was the best. I can’t wait to try their phở next time. They don’t have any parking but it’s not hard finding street parking at all. You just have to pay for meter parking. Prices are super cheap and affordable. I will be baaaaaaaaack!

Awesomeness!!! Stopped by this place yesterday on a kind-of last minute meal with my wife and didn’t really know what to expect. Well, lets just say I was blown away by their food. Location– the shop is along Pico right before getting to La Cienega if you are going West. Small little door takes you into their hallway-ish style entrance. They asked us if it was for two and then were walked back and next door to their seating area. Really nicely decored, with table and chairs. Food– The food here was great! I got one of their bowl options, with chicken, shrimp, and chicken rolls. The taste was amazing and it all tasted freshly made, as it should be. Their Thai tea I will say was ok, but I prefer less sweet so it was good for me. Staff– looks like its one guy hosting and waitressing but we went in a low time I think so not sure if they have more help than that. Either way, he was attentive, very nice, and helpful. I will be back at this place without doubt, the best part is that I can walk here from my house which I will be doing.

Came here to meet friends after work for a casual somewhat healthier dinner. One of my friends is strict vegetarian and its one of the few that have vegetarian options. The place was busy but we were greeted as we came in and were seated quickly. I ordered the phở tai and we shared the spring rolls which were both very good. The phở tai had a generous amount of the steak and I was happy that the spring rolls weren’t just filled with noodles as you’d expect of Vietnamese restaurants outside Alhambra, San Gabriel and Westminster(my home town). Nice to know what Vien Café is an option when I’m in the area. Apparently, the place was BYOB so that’s a plus.

**LEGITVIETNAMESEFOODONPICO** Thanks, Unilocal for steering us here! No need to drive to Little Saigon necessarily anymore! PARKING ========= Street AMBIANCE ========= Not really divey, but not super fancy either. Casual eatery with a patio. Early 2001 zen-like furniture. FOOD ===== PHODACBIET — $ 9.95 Fragrant beef broth with rice noodles, slivers of rare steak, slices of tender beef brisket, tendon and beef meatballs was actually better than I expected. Broth was quite good and the flat rice noodles and meats were flavorful and fresh. RATING: 4⁄5 You can also alternatively substitute for brown rice noodle(gluten free) for $ 1.50 extra. SERVICE ======== Efficient, but not overly friendly. Typical, I guess, for a Vietnamese restaurant. Hey, not going to complain for $ 10 in Mid-City. RECOMMEND for Vietnamese phở cravings and/or hangovers in West LA/Mid-City.

MEH… I feel like this place was way too western for me. I ordered a phở tai and it was honestly below average. The noodles were all stuck together and undercooked. The rare steak was dry and tougher than leather to chew. I also ordered egg rolls and all they had was chicken? Last time I checked, we always eat eggs rolls with pork. I also didn’t think 3 middle fingered sized egg rolls(cut in half) were worth $ 3.95. I tried my friends bún and the noodles were way undercooked. I literally felt the noodles snapping in my mouth every time I chewed it. This place is not phở me!

This was a great find since my office is so close! Okay so this is good phở but its not as savory as other places(hence the 4 stars). I have only eaten there once, but we order Phở from there & pick up for lunch multiple times. Food Tasty, satisfies the noodle & soup tasty craving Parking Sucks! Street parking, since this is on Pico it is difficult Décor The inside is nice, feels modern & there is not that much décor, but it works for this place! :) Service Service is good, as I said this is mostly for pick up! The one time that I ate there with my friend we thought it was a little slow, but it could have been because we had to go back to work. LOL.

Update. This isn’t about the food. It’s about the service. I went on a cold, rainy day on a Friday night with my boyfriend to fix a long and overdue phở craving. The restaurant was packed! First time I’ve seen it like that and there was even a wait! I was genuinely happy for them as business seemed to be picking up. However, it seemed like there was only one server on the floor and she was not happy. We were standing right before the counter, trying to make eye contact with her. Didn’t happen, she completely ignored us. I tried to be nice when I eventually called out to her and she said it’s a 30 – 1 hour wait giving us this nasty look. The people sitting at the bar next to us said they’ve been waiting for the check for about 15 minutes. I get that she’s probably frazzled and busy, but there’s a better way to handle this situation than ignoring your customers and giving them bitchy looks. I’ve served for over a year and half and I know to take that attitude to the back and bitch it out, then to always come back to the front with a smile. Needless to say, we walked out. Not planning on coming back here.
