Vermont Automobile Repair

I’ve been taking all of my vehicles to Bob for almost 10 years for smog checks. And, the place is bare bones but the staff has always been business only and never rude. I owe Bob a huge thank you because I had an old (but much loved) ’88 Corolla and it was on its last leg, I took it to Bob for a smog check. He referred me to the BAR program, which purchases old vehicles that are unable to pass the smog check. They purchased my old car and using that money and my savings I was able to purchase a car from a dealer. Took it today for a smog check, still good service. Thanks guys!

This place is busy, so busy that at first Bob couldn’t look at my car for 2 weeks, after pursuing him to look at it, he agreed to leave it a week later so he could take it look at it.
Dropped it off on a Monday afternoon and finally picked it on a Friday afternoon running way better then I have ever remembered it running.
Labor is $ 75 an hour but they charged me under 4 bills with 3 parts and labor after all was said and done.
They do a great job, I didn’t do my Star Smog here but they do offer it, maybe next time I need it I will have them to do that service.
Shop looks like it has seen better days but then again you want to see that in a garage.

OK. this year the 4×4 needed a smog’s place is on the corner of Century Blvd. and Vermont Ave it used to be a gas station, they are always busy, but you get in and out kinda… fast smog check for my veh.$ 50.00 for smog and certificate. No where to wait but out side in lawn chairs so if you come here with your veh. you never know if you are going to have to wait for it so its best to bring 1. Sun Glass’s“s 2. Music 3. A book 4. Laptop 5. A bottle of Remy Martin V.S.O.P Cognac to soak up some sun till your car is ready.

Good Honest Work, Labor is $ 75hr, (according the bill I got) but it was worth it, the Technition knows his stuff.
It may not be the fanciest shop. But it works for them and it worked for me.
I am a college student. It was time to register my car, but I needed to pass SMOG. So I applied and qualified for the state of California’s Consumer Assistance Program (CAP) under the Bureau of Automotive Repair (BAR)… If are in financial need CAP will help pay for SMOG repairs for those vehicles who have failed smog check.
The only catch the work has to be done at «Gold Shield Approved Stations» which Vermont Automobile is one.
I was approved for my $ 500 of repair. The SMOG repair was for $ 600 so I only paid $ 100 out of pocket. I had a check engine light. The error code said to I had some gad valve issue.
They repaired my gas «purge valve» and gas tank «Charcoal Canister» filter.
Before repair my idle would rev up and down at stop lights. But after the repair it just idles at 1 smooth consistent level.
They did a great job.

This place is an Gold Shield Repair shop. It is also a Brake & Lamp station. I took my car in after failing smog at another smog test only shop. I am unenployed and I got assistance from the government. i got a voucher that I could use at any Gold Shield facility. vermont was the only one in the 90 044 zip. they tested everything on my car and reporting their findings to the state of california. the voucher I had paid for all the repairs need except my deductable.
