Transport Skate Shop

Stopped into Transport to get components for my new board. Arbie made it an awesome experience to share with my 10 year old nephew. He is very knowledgable and makes you feel welcomed. I will definitely be back and recommend others to do the same.

I had been looking for a local store that sells vans at a good price. They had some that were close outs in my size so I ran over and snapped them up. Good website helped me find em. And when I got there I couldn’t believe the selection of really quality clothing and gear. Holy cow. I went in to buy some cheap shoes and almost bought the place out. Really a great store. I hope they’re around for years to come.

Found Transport online as I was searching for a Nike SB that is sold out in San Francisco and the north bay area. The shop had the exact shoe and size I was looking for. The rep that called me back from an online message I left was helpful and guided me through their online process (as the site said to call for stock). I placed my order that same day and received my shoes within 2 days. I love them! I wish all stores here in norcal has such great service!

Shop decks are 35.00 and quality. The guys who work here are polite, no dickheads as you might find in other shops. Plenty of parking and located near the 2 freeway. Thanks Transport.

Was looking for dunk sb j pack skate shoe and saw that they had it in stock on their website. Went to check out the store since it is close by at Eagle Rock. It is a good neighborhood skateboard shop with boards, shirts, and shoes. Very big selection of shoes by many brands. Will visit again now that I know where it is located. Cool shop.

The owner is very cool and professional! He clearly appreciates his customers and it shows. There is always a good selection and deals, my husband has been going there for a couple of years now.

I have driven past this place about a million times and never noticed it. Small independent shop, local business, I love it!
I walked in a noticed all of the clothing and shoes. Lots of styles and brands that I could never wear. The last time I wore skinny jeans and vans was in 1984. It’s 2013, and I need lots of stretchy material, elastic waist bands and loose cuts!
Owner is friendly and a knowledgeble source for skating components. Answered all of my questions and was helpful in helping me select the right truck, bearings and wheels for my new 10″ skateboard. Pricing was good and similar to other shops.
I will definitely be back to pick up a DGK deck. Something about the «clevage» deck that instandly caught my eyes. I love buying online but it is refreshing to walk into a store and see the products first hand. Thanks to Transport Skate Shop for bring the outdated concept back for this old school vato.

I came in on a Sunday afternoon looking to buy my first skateboard. After reading the reviews on Unilocal,I thought this would be a good place to get one. Boy, was I wrong!
The young man working the counter didn’t know ANYTHING about skateboarding. I have barely skateboarded in my life and I knew more than him (example: he said the only two types of boards were longboards and cruisers. What about penny boards, downhill boards, freestyle boards, etc?). The selection of completes was totally lacking and he said that «you can’t get a complete for less than $ 200,» which is definitely not true — maybe I should have directed him to
, which is where I think I’ll be doing my shopping from now on.
This was a complete waste of trip to Eagle Rock. Maybe they knew something about skateboarding back when the other reviews were written, but now it seems like they specialize in selling t-​shirts and shoes. Don’t come here if you actually want to buy a skateboard.

This is exactly what you would hope an independent skate shop would be. Friendly, relaxed. Once upon a time, almost too long ago to remember, I hung with that breed of cute surf/​skater boys and all their skater culture. Warm Summer nights of meandering through suburbia on four wheels and Mickey Big Mouths.
But I digress…
Time had come to take the not so little one to get his first board. We stopped in and were warmly greeted, dare I say congratulated, by the staff who helped him pick out a board, and everything else he needed to get rolling. They were kind, and helpful and enthusiastic and made sure he new the difference in wheels and why everything worked the way it did. To top it off he was give an old board with beautiful graphic that was beyond use and destined for the trash.
They have great t-​shirts and shoes. I’ve been back a couple of times to buy shoes and clothing as gifts. Always a warm welcome. Always recognized as the «cool mom» that bought her son that awesome first board. Which is nice greeting to hear.

It’s been almost 25 years since I was on a skateboard. It was something I loved but just drifted from as I got older. Today I bought my son his first board for Xmas. It was a cheap complete from the sporting goods store. I ended up riding it home and shocked myself with how quickly it all came back.
Within a couple hours I found myself at Transport getting a skate for myself! As everyone else has said, Arbie was awesome. His shop felt legit, and yet friendly– something that never happened in my youth. Back then you were a poseur if you asked questions, or it was a poseur shop if they had anything other than thrasher approved gear and punk music playing.
At Transport there were people who obviously just hung there, a couple kids Arbie was letting use his work area, and no one had a bit of attitude.
Arbie was awesome and not only listened to me wax nostalgic with the above story, but he helped me piece together an inexpensive complete that was a good combination of old school and new school gear to get me back up to speed.
Plan to head back soon once my 6 year old has his cheap generic broken in so we can get him legit!

just got back from this spot and copped me a pair of SB dunks US Passports! i was hella pumped that they had one pair left in my size for retail price! selection is ON POINT and they do get all the quickstrikes, according to Arbi.
i’ll definitely be coming back frequently! so glad i found this little gem that’s so close to my neck of the woods.

.., this friendly neighborhood skate shop is always cool to visit. Very cool owner & he is always helpful.
I’ve gotten Vans, sunglasses, pants, shorts, shirts, flannels, & even Obey/​RVCA stickers from here. It is a small store though so sometimes it’s not consistent size wise when looking for clothing. You may find a cool shirt for example but it would only be in 1 size on some occasions.
The local kids love coming in here & hanging out, either getting their boards tuned up or grabbing some gear so that’s always good to see. Check em’ out!

It is a sad day but I am an old skate dog now. I remember being a kid and some old shredder would show up at a spot and lay down some bonlesses and maybe even bust a bert. I feel that that generation is all in wheelchairs now and my generation from the early 90s has taken over the weirdo ripper at your local skatespot. I am OK with that but it is hard to find a skateshop that is not for old skaters who don’t skate but like to hang skateboards on their walls or a corporate crapper that makes you feel like skateboarding is the new baseball.
This being said, in the 90s skateboarding was deader than dead. The 80s had a little flair with some bigger than life pros like Hosoi, Gator and Hawk but by the 90s regular people were over it and, at least at my high school, there was nothing less cool than skateboarding. It would be like if you told people that you were still REALLY serious about razor scooters and after school every day, you would go out and ride your razor scooters to people throwing stuff at you from car windows and girls shunning you for someone into something more interesting like football. The only people into skateboarding in the 90s, were people who were in it solely for the love.
However, to me, this was the heyday of skateboarding. If you look at the videos that came out at that time, you will see the kernel that has exploded into the amazingness that is skateboarding today. Starting with videos like G&S’ Footage, the old H-​Street videos, then Plan B and into Blind’s Video Days + the Girl videos from the mid to later 90s are just amazing.
At this time, skate shops were also amazing. There was no place more important than your local shop. There was no such thing as your giant corporate shop and because there was no interwebs, mailorder stuff was tiny. These skate shops had a very specific vibe just like the local spot. For the local kids, this was a place to congregate, to learn and to grow from in a hostile environment where everyone who was not a skater was against you from cops and security guards to teachers, parents and even peers. My local skateshop was a tiny hole in the wall but it was where all my friends met up and even met in some cases. The owners, employees and older skaters had some secret knowledge and always had new equipment, directions to good spots and sound advice. TRANSPORT is that kind of shop. It is like walking into a time machine and stepping out in to a REAL 90s skateshop that is for the kids. Transport is not your boutique shop for old dog posers to get limited edition kicks so they can flex like they still skate and transport is not some soulless corporate shop that sees the kids as dollar signs. Transport is a true hardcore skateshop.
Transport is the real deal skateshop and if I had kids old enough to skate, I would be taking them there. For now, I will continue to shop there as well. They have an excellent selection of decks and hardware, plus shoes and clothes. They have everything a skater could want and no extra crap. If you are a skater looking for a true skateshop, this is the spot. The owner and his employees are all cool, welcoming and knowledgeable. Whether you are picking up your first set up, buying your 5^th deck this month or coming back to the sport after a hiatus, this is the shop.
