I am religious about keeping my skin in excellent shape (I’ve been getting facials once a month since I was 14, so ten years!) — and Ivy is absolutely the BEST esthetician I have ever been to. I have been going to Total Wellness Center for about four years and the experience has been exceptional. Ivy is delicate, highly skilled and uses the best products. As someone who has to deal with excess oil on a daily basis, Ivy has been a godsend with her painless and thorough extractions. With her help, my skin has improved so much. Dr Kim and Ivy are a great team. I have been going to them for a year now and they do not disappoint. The acupuncture is done professionally and comfortably with not too many needles but always effective. The massage is always amazing whether you want a strong, deep massage or just something to relax and get the tightness and stress out of your muscles and feel refreshed. Highly recommended!

Went here yesterday after not having gone in a few years… my experience previously was you could get one hour of relaxation without hassles and frills. In the past quiet was encouraged. Not only was the entire facility loud… but even the doctor himself seems to have forgone the quiet policy as he was surprisingly loud in the next room Also… my massage therapist insisted on talking to me … so much that i had to ask her to be quiet. To add insult to injury she was slamming things around and walking with what seemed to be high heels making me annoyingly aware of her jerky movements around the table. It was the antithesis of relaxing. The positive is that the place is clean. As for the massage itself… my therapist is the esthetician there and told me only fills in with massages when they are busy… so no surprise my massage was mediocre at best. Today. unfortunately i feel worse than i did when i went in.

I brought my mother-​in-​law here after she arrived from a transcontinental flight. She needed to iron out some aches and pains. I’ve taken her to several places in the area, but she swears that the best of the lot was Total Wellness Center. They were attentive to her special needs and she left feeling utterly rejuvenated. And for $ 39? Cannot be beat.

I am a healing professional and this is where i go personally for extraordinary care. It IS Total Wellness. Every treatment is personally customized to address the underlying health concern of the moment. I was grateful to find Total Wellness through a friend in 2009 and this has been my place ever since. I heartily recommend Total Wellness to friends, and my family looks forward to sessions whenever they come to Los Angeles. Total Wellness is professional, highly skilled, state-​of-​the-​art treatments combine with anvient wisdom, clean, reasonable, and convenient. Very nicely appropriate without chi-​chi. I am a regular. Highly Recommend.

While basic, the massages I get here are straightforward and effective. As others have said already, convenience brought me, but I started going on a semi-​regular basis due to the quality and price. I am disabled and see an acupuncturist/​massage therapist weekly, but when I need some extra help during the week, this is where I go. They’re thorough and really work out the knots, but they’re also quite gentle with those joints that require a softer touch due to surgery.

Amazing! I had the herbal facial ($ 50) with Ivy and I can’t wait to come back for more! I’ve been looking for an aesthetician in west la for a long time and I think I found my place. She is nice, friendly and professional and explains what she’s doing and constantly checks on you to make sure you are comfortable. I will be getting her other treatments soon.

I came to see Dr. Kim and Ivy with my friend’s referral. I went for a session and was very pleased! Not only I lost two inches after just one cavitation session, the secret face lift treatment for my mom was just amazing. she bought a package of three session and just got one session done but already looks good that her friends are asking what did she do. It’s only been a week and she still has deep wrinkles but her fine lines around her upper lips and eye area that she was always concerning of, disappeared. They are very knowledgeable and they work hard to provide all your needs. I would definitely recommend Ivy and Dr. Kim to all my friends!!!

Tried Total Wellness Center out of sheer convenience because I live nearby. Been having extreme neck and shoulder pain as well as chronic fatigue. The neck and shoulder pain are caused by a medical diagnosis of degenerative disc disease along with moderate cervical bone spurring. It was exacerbated by a fall from a 5 ft. ladder while I was changing a light bulb.
Physical therapy helped some, but I was still suffering from extreme pain. I tried the acupressure with Jennie the first time and it was very helpful. She was extremely skilled. I was skeptical about acupuncture, but I tried it the second time around. The owner and acupuncturist, Dr. Kim is very skilled and it definitely helped my pain, although I was kind of worried that he would break something when he put a towel under my neck and started pulling up as hard as he could. He said that it would help the pressure caused by my thinning discs in my neck, but I have to tell him to hold off on that next time or use less pressure.
Other than that, he did some minor massage and manipulation of my neck and shoulder which really helped. My only gripe is that at the end of the session, which is $ 75 per acupuncture session, I tipped $ 25 for Dr. Kim and Jennie, he charged me $ 5 for some herbal tea that was supposed to relax my neck muscles. I originally thought that was included in the total $ 100 that I paid, but he charged $ 5. Now $ 5 is not a lot of money considering I already forked over $ 100, but I didn’t ask for it and he offered it to me at the end of the session like it was part of the treatment. At the very least, he should have given that to me for free as compliments of the house and said that next time he would have to charge me. The herbal tea also really tasted horrible and smelled horrible, so I will have to insist that he not sell that to me next time. I’ll have to say this though: he’s a very good businessman and just be careful about them trying to sell you extras likes herbs and medicines that may or may not help.

I am training for a half marathon and attempted 12 miles this weekend but found my body starting to give out… everything hurt, especially my right hip flexor. It was a bad situation. I woke up the next day and could barely raise my leg so I decided to give Total Wellness a try.
They were great. I called at 5pm and they said they could take me at 6:20pm. Perfect! The location is small and intimate with street parking. I saw Maritza (sp?) and told her my situation and she really worked out every kink in my back and legs and esp my right hip flexor! I went yesterday and today I feel almost like new! And did I mention a full hour massage was $ 39.99? Amazing deal with great results!
I honestly would have given 5 stars, but I’m knocking one off because the room I was in had a clock and I could hear the second hand ticking which made it harder to relax. Lots of tick, tick, ticking which interfered with me truly relaxing, but other than that the place is incredible! I will definitely be back!

I go every two weeks and find the results to be excellent. This place is a great value.

I tried Acupressure (指圧). Incredibly good. I’m sure come back here at least once in a month.
Price is $ 39/​hr as advertised. This is AMAZING price for the quality.
I addicted to massage when I was in Japan, but I stopped after I moved to LA because there’re tons of low-​quality massage places. I was painful to even pay tips to massager.
BUT this place take me back to massage-​addict! Staffs were nice and courteous. Some of them are not good at English, but you don’t need many words. Just let them know if the massage is strong/​weak for you.
If you’re looking for the great massage place, I strongly recommend Total Wellness Center.

This place is a deal! for $ 40 you get a full hour massage. I have never been disappointed (except when going elsewhere). The girls are great, you can request which area you want them to focus on, I feel they are experienced, they know each muscle, feel your trouble spots and focus on that (popcorn)… work magic on your back. It’s quiet atmosphere, dim lights, very relaxing, serene music, warm bed and amazing healing hands.
I’m sad to see some bad reviews, don’t think you can get injured from the massage –most likely a previous injury. I’ve been coming to this place for 2 years for massage and absolutely love it. Staff is kind and work with your schedule.
TIP: some of the massage therapist don’t understand english too well. Make sure you specify any request with at the reception area ;)

I absolutely agree with Julia. My case was worse! I had to go into urgent care to get an x-​ray (afraid that my spine was fractured) because I felt a sharp pain when I took a deep breathe. Turn out that I have a concussion and the x-​ray film is forwarded to another MD to finalize whether he sees a fraction from the film.

The next day after my massage, my lower back was aching. I had to ice it and sit with a pillow. The next day… same thing. It took exactly one week for my lower back to return to feeling back to normal.

Came to Total Wellness Center on a friend’s recommendation and was really skeptical due to their raaaaaving review. Guess what, they were right. I showed up to my appointment on time and the doctor in the front told me they were running 10 minutes behind and was super genuinely apologetic. 10 minutes behind? Psh, that’s nothing in LA time!
The room was no fluff but definitely simple and clean. They had towels laid out and a pair of basketball shorts which, as others have mentioned, are completely optional for you to wear and I opted not to. The lady came in shortly after I was ready and proceeded to give me one of the best massages everrrr! Pressure — perfect. Target areas — perfect. Quiet and calming — perfect. Have you ever had that experience where someone is massaging you too hard so you ask them to soften up, then it’s too light and you feel like an asshole for telling them to up the pressure again? Well, she kept asking me if it was too hard, but this one was right on and she has able to adjust the pressure intuitively based on my tense areas. Loved it! The time went by too fast!
Another FYI is they leave an envelop for you after they leave the room for tip so make sure you have cash on you. I’m not sure if I would have known that’s what that was for if I hadn’t read it in a review (I’m not quick like that) so yeah, just a good to know.
This is definitely my new go-​to for massages and I’ve been meaning to try acupuncture for awhile now so, who knows, there might be a review addendum coming up soon!

I like it rough and apparently so do they!
My $ 39 combo massage by Sunny was probably one of the most effective massages I’ve had in a while. She finds your trouble spots and concentrates on them. She even found a few tense areas that I never knew existed. And I must say, I give props to her toes. Yes… her TOES!!! As she hung from the bars on the ceiling, her toes worked like magic on my back. Awkward at first, but once all my knots seemed to loosen up, I immediately became a fan of the toe massage.
Although there’s a sign up front that states tips are cash only, the young man at the front let me put it on my card. However it was awkward when Sunny handed me an empty envelope and I had nothing to give her.
I’ll definitely be back!

I am so, so pleased I found this wonderful place.
They are incredibly generous and really take the time to figure out your problems.
I went in a hormonal, spotty mess and when I left I felt as if a cloud had been lifted.
I had acupuncture which also came with a 30 minute massage that was just incredible, I also bought some TCM herbs and my total was $ 70. I think that is great value and means I can go often.
