Don is super cool! He fixed my board fast and did a great job! Super friendly too! Told me some cool stories from his competition days and gave me a bunch of tips. Even offered me some of his dinner! If I crack my board again will definitely come back to Don!

Don is amazing. Meant to write this review sooner, but better late than never. He is AWESOME at repairing boards, and knows surf culture inside and out. Also, he made me a burrito when I left to take home with me since he was making dinner for himself while I was there. Highly recommended. You may wait a little longer than you would at a corporate place, but it’s worth it. I didn’t mind waiting.

Sickest guy, i went by he fixed my bored in two hours perfect gave me some advise about surfing i talked to him for a little really nice guy… i dont even worry about my bored anything goes wrong he is the man.

After reading all this reviews and after a friend suggested me to go with Don, I decided I would give it a try. To be completely honest, It goes beyond being the best at fixing surfboard, beyond being a true artist and beyond exceed my expectations on the result. He is an amazing person, a true rockstar and I will definitely call him again, and not because I will need his help. Because I will wanna hang out with him.

Don did a great job of fixing every single ding on my ten foot board for the agreed –and very reasonable – price of $ 80.00. Location is way more convenient for me than Aquatech, where I’d been going before, and it was nice to get spared the famed Aquatech attitude. It’s a backyard operation out of his house but who cares as long as they get the job done.
My only issue was that it took around two weeks longer to get the board back than was originally promised, as well as a number of phone calls. In fairness to Don, he was always easy to reach and promptly called back if I couldn’t reach him.
So I would definitely use them as long as you have a backup board or aren’t planning on surfing for a while. Fortunately for me, I left my board in December, when I find it’s usually too cold for me to surf anyway.

Absolutely what everyone has said here. Don is a wonderful man and a true artist – a diamond in the rough.

It’s true… Don is the man. He fixed a board for me and I also ended up buying one from him when I went to pick mine up. I couldn’t resist — he has such an amazing selection! I’m extremely happy with both the fix and the new board. He does excellent work, it’s well priced and he really is just an amazing guy. Why wouldn’t you want to give him business? Really amazing! If you want a nice job done, fast, spending 30% less than a regular shop, and supporting smaller businesses, this is the spot. Call Don and he will show you a pure hand-​crafted quality job in his basement. I went there now three or four times and I always left with a smile. Once I had a problem with a previous repair (I hit my board probably somewhere), and he fix it with no charge… cool Don !

Impeccable repair skills and a wealth of knowledge. I just got my FST Firewire (epoxy) back and he did a great job. I’m very picky about repairs and I’ve taken my boards to a number of places in the past. I won’t take my boards to anyone else but Don from now on. He’s awesome… 5 stars all the way.

As Brown P. put it, «Don is the man.» If you’re looking for quality work done at a more than fair price, you’ve come to the right place.
Some things to take note of:
1. He runs the business out of his home. (No signage out side).
2. He is the only one doing the work.
3. Looking for surf talk — found it!
4. Used surfboards — he’s the guy to talk to.
5. Would I take my boards to anyone else? No, (emphatically, No!).
6. Excellent tacos close by.

Don is the man. He came through for me when I bought a board off craigslist that turned out to be water logged, and buckled with some slight finbox damage. He patched everything up for a fair price, and the board is like new again water tight, and ready to rip.
Much like what everyone is saying. Don is a chilled out dude. Very friendly, and has some awesome surf knowledge. He is now my go to man for surboard repairs. I definitely recommend him.

Best surf board repair hands down! Excellent work every time! The man is a genius when it comes to repair and I would never trust anyone else with my board! Sure it can take time, but it’s worth the wait to get it done right.

My surfboard damage was from an airline dropping a suitcase on my board bag. Don helped me out as I didn’t have repair materials while traveling thru CA — otherwise I would have done it myself. The result was sufficient however the quality was amateur. For $ 40 i expected better results.

I took my $ 5, 1970s, garage-​sale beater to Don, waited a few months and am thoroughly pleased with the result. Make time to talk if you can, he’s a good conversationalist with knowledge and taste.

Fantastic experience! I had a couple of boards to fix. He was knowledgeable, friendly, & knows SO MUCH about surfing, surf culture, surfing history in LA area, etc — it was great to simply talk with him. Highly recommend!

Don is awesome. Did a great job on my board and even offered to lend me a board for my camping trip. Really fair prices and reliable. I got a 2inch gash from a guy cutting me off and Don was able to fix it like new. All around cool guy, can’t wait to get my second board back that needed extensive work.

Don is the Best… but remember for the best you have to WAIT! He is a one-​man shop; so there is no one but him which will touch your surfboard. We had him to an surfboard which was not going to be used for surfing but as a decoration on a building. He took his time because he wants to make sure that it is good enough to pass «his eyes». But if you are in a rush, it will be hard pressed to get in front of the line since he likes to take his time with all his clients.
I went to several other surfboard shops and they wanted a fortune for that they were going to do; plus those other shops had a bad attitude. Not Don — smiling and enjoying what he does.
On top of that, he is knowledgeable about Vinyl Records!

Don is like, the best dude ever. He’s just one person working out of his home, but he gets a ton of business because he does a fantastic job and good news travels fast. He runs his shop the way a small business ought to be run, with the utmost integrity, and he treats his customers as friends. He asked me not to post his prices up here, but believe me, he’s not doing this for the money. He is truly passionate about his work and you won’t find better value anywhere.
Don was a surfer decades before surfing was glamorized by hollywood, and embodies the heart and soul of LA surf culture. Even if you don’t have a board that needs repair, go find one on craigslist and back over it with your truck so that you have an excuse to stop by Don’s place. You won’t regret it.

Don’t go here if you want a commercial surf shop experience. You won’t like it. Do go here if you want to get your board fixed well, at a good price, by someone who knows more about surfing and surf culture than most people will ever learn in a lifetime.
Don has patched 2 boards for me already, a classic longboard and a mini-​gun that was my first board and lived in the parents garage. He’s working on a buckle in a board for my little brother right now and it’s awesome to have someone who can work on boards like this guy around.
Someone should do a story on this guy.
