BEST SALON IN LA HANDS DOWN!!!
Let me just start out by saying that I have been to hundreds of top hair salons and hair dressers throughout my life. NEVER HAVE I EVER experienced better service and care than I have at the well. I saw LEON for the first time for a color and men’s haircut, never will I go anywhere else I was amazed by his talent, dedication and how much he truly cared about his job and my hair. I Have had my hair multiple bright neon colors throughout the years, and I know how hard it can be to get color out and back to platinum blonde; Until I met Leon. I went in with neon bright pink hair and wanted to go back to platinum, within four hours I was completely blonde and Icey with the coolest gray/​silver undertones. I was blown away that he worked this serious magic, never have I left a salon with a bright color completely out of my hair; which resulted in me having to keep spending more money to go back and get it rebleached. Leon is truly talented, and he knows what he is doing. I HIGHLY RECOMMEND!!! Also not to mention the best haircut I’ve ever gotten and he is so down to earth and easy to get along with.

I dont usually get my hair cut at salons, I’ve been doing it myself. And whenever I have gone to a salon in the previous years I am never satisfied. However, I recently searched up the best salons in LA and The Well came up, then I want on review sites and noticed the rave reviews for Jefferson. I got my hair cut by him and very satisfied with the results. Staff at this place are very nice and helpful as well.

Best haircut I received has been at The Well. Matthew has consistently been thorough and his work is impeccable. Never received more compliments on my hair.

After years of searching for the perfect blunt bang cut, I finally found Jenelle! She is passionate about hairstyling and knows how to make you look your best. Transitioning from a bob to long hair can be awkward but luckily it wasnt something I had to experience (that shag cut is cuteeee and im now convinced anyone can rock it when done right). Jenelle is super talented and a pleasure to spend time with :)
Also, the Well is a super rad establishment– from the design to the tunes, its always on point!

Just got my hair done yesterday by the very skilled, patient, and amazing Jenelle.
Booking is very easy. You can do it online or by phone. They have an excellent and caring staff that always coordinates your appointment with ease. Any questions you have about the cost and time they will be happy and knowledgeable to to answer.
First I’ll talk about the location which is awesome. It’s conveniently located in DTLA close to Staples Center and the FIDM. There is easy parking behind, and there’s a lot which you can park all day at.
When you get in, it’s a huge open space that also doubles as a retail store. Lots of quality designed well made jewelry, shoes, home accessories, and clothing.
The salon itself and sleek and clean. Overall a positive energy — everyonne on the staff is easy going and professional. Plus awesome tunes playing everytime I go.
Ive been working with Jenelle for about half a year now, and she had above and beyond reached my expectations. I first went in for touch up color and highlights for my ashblonde hair and she was kind enough to walk me through everything and make sure I was comfortable with her process. The amazing thing is that Jenelle is very busy, but still took her time with me to make sure I was happy with the end result .
I did a full color redo yesterday since my roots were a terrible 5 – 6 inches long and the mid length of my hair had already went crazy. Jenelle is a total pro, and if you show her a picture she magically makes it happen.
Also my hair is somehow silkier and smoother than it’s ever been. After 4 hours or processing I was very afraid my silver blonde hair would be a mess, but she made sure I left with stellar soft and bouncy new color.
EVERYONE has been complimenting me non stop (Even men who never notice anything). not only does it look great but everyone wants to reach out and touch it since it is so glorious.
This place is worth going out of your way to if you arent in DTLA, and if you are you should make an appointment now!

Jefferson is super intuitive, talented, and knowledgable hair guru! I’ve been returning to Jefferson since I moved to LA in Fall 2014, and he has transformed not just my hair, but also my perception of what we can DO with my hair! I have been coming to The Well for the past 2.5yrs for my men’s cut. My main man is Jefferson. He’s incredible! Consistently gives me the best haircut. I can’t imagine myself going somewhere else.
The atmosphere at The Well is modern and very chill. Everyone that works there is especially friendly and there’s always a feel good vibe.

Getting Asian hair platinum can be a difficult ordeal, in the past taking multiple sessions of 5+ hours, so when I came to see Elise at the Well I was blown away that she was able to get my black hair to platinum blonde in 4 hours without destroying it. I’ve been seeing her now for almost two years, going platinum blonde every 2 – 3 months. People comment on how healthy my hair looks all the time. She’s also great with a hair cut and is super careful, detail oriented, and takes her job seriously. She doesn’t just slap some bleach on your hair and call it a day. She’s meticulous. I’ve seen the other stylists at the Well and they’re also great, but I she’s who I recommend to friends who asked how I got my hair this white!
The salon itself is in a cool creative space that sells clothes, always plays amazing music, and the products they use are high quality (Oribe). I never feel pressured to buy anything and everyone is just really cool and chill. It’s hard to find a great stylist, so I’m so happy I found one close to home!

I would give 6 stars if I could! I came to Jefferson for a total hair color transformation and he nailed it! I brought in a photo of what I wanted and he literally made my hair look exactly like that if not better.
He’s really detailed oriented and made me feel at ease since I was going from black to almost blonde. The staff is also really fun, I felt like I was just kicking it with my friends all afternoon!

Amazing place to get a haircut! My hair seriously needed professional treatment and Elise did her magic & just love my new hairstyle.
Love the vibe and ambiance of this salon/​store/​event venue.

I just wanna say that the people who work here are the coolest fucking people I have ever met! Not to mention the fact they give killer haircuts.

I don’t think the stylists here have a whole lot of training or experience.
I went there hoping to get some white and some lavender — came out with more yellow, Barney purple & an incredibly uneven cut. –see photo

Leon gave me the best cut and he bleached and toned my hair to the perfect platinum blonde. Never been this happy with my hair before. I would never cheat on him. I have never been faithful or left a good Unilocal review for a stylist until now. He’s that amazing. I would recommend him to anyone.

Great space :) Came here for The Black Sunday Sale, a Ladies First event. Everyone was really nice. I didn’t get a chance to have my hair done here, but I love that they house community events. There was a great line up of female DJs, LA-​based brands, henna, and nails. Free manis :) I definitely want to come back to see what else The Well has to offer.

Dreece is a very talented, sweet, funny stylist with very meticulous skill. I have a lot of thick, straight hair that I don’t really put much effort into styling. He managed to give me a lot of movement and volume and a style/​shape that dries really nicely when I leave the house with wet hair in the AM. I will be back to see him.
I was able to get a same-​day appointment when I was in town. The very nice woman at the front desk gave me water and white wine when I arrived. I received an email confirmation when I made the appointment and also received an emailed receipt after I left. It’s the little things.
The store has some gorgeous, high quality, one of a kind clothing and accessories. I wanted several pairs of shoes that I saw.
The salon carries Oribe, which is probably the best smelling set of hair products I have ever smelled.
The space is beautiful, comfortable, and unique.

Full service hair salon and clothing shop with an edge. Featuring various designer brands and local newcomers; The Well has a distinct LA vibe.
Although at the far end of South Park, the shop is not hard to find as it is in a corner and the name is plastered all over the side of the wall.
Plenty of metered parking.

Jenelle doesn’t know it yet, but she’s my forever girl when it comes to cut and color. She’s extremely easy going, perceptive, and she knows what’s up! When I came in for my consultation, it was as if we were of the same mind. She knew exactly what look I was going for, and when it came time to get the cut and color, executed perfectly. She walks the walk just as hard as she talks the talk!
My partial highlights blended absolutely seamlessly, and in total honesty, my hair probably looked more natural after Jenelle got to work on it than it did before. It was perfectly sun-​kissed and the cut reflected the same vibe I was going for. She’s a master at taking the weight out of your hair, and just as equally talented at creating texture without sacrificing volume. I’ve never received as many compliments on my hair – I’ve also never been asked where I get my hair done as often as I had with Jenelle as my fairy-​hairmother, and in complete and total honesty, I always hesitate before revealing my little secret simply because a part of me wants to keep the secret a secret.
I’m a horrible person, but Jenelle at The Well is honestly where it’s at! The secret’s out!
