The Red Dragon

Came here with my girlfriend for breakfast on a Monday morning. The décor was awesome. Felt like a Central Perk kinda place. Sofas, love seats, cool assortment of different antiques, art, and just an overall great vibe. The service and staff were very kind and on top of their game. I ordered the Breakfast Sandwich which in all honesty was THE BEST breakfast sandwich I’ve ever had. Hearty slabs of thick cut bacon, perfectly cooked fried egg with soft yolk center, cheese baked into the bread. It also came with a beautiful spinach salad with fresh blueberries and strawberries. I also got their fluffy pancakes which also came with fresh blueberries, strawberries and the cherry on top was the REAL MAPLE SYRUP. Also got an ice blended white chocolate mocha coffee drink… It was superb. Just for shits and giggles I got a regular drip coffee as well which came with 2 biscotti’s. All in all The Red Dragon café exceeded my expectations on every level. I highly recommend anyone to come here for good coffee, good food, good vibe, good prices… It’s ALL good!!!

One of the worst dining experiences ever. Waited an hour for 3 pancakes. Never coming back here again.

I was very disappointed with this place. Our food took 30 – 45 min to arrive, even though it was not busy. They also forgot to one of our orders. The «fluffy» pancakes I ordered tasted a bit stale and like instant pancakes mix. The drinks were good, but the food was mediocre at best, nothing was freshly made.

Good coffee and muffins in a cozy place. Advertised «fluffy» pancakes are rubbery but okay. However, the girl at the counter was walking around wearing a «F*CK THE POLICE» shirt. Wish I had known that before eating here — I would never give my money to a place that finds that to be appropriate attire. So disrespectful and unprofessional.

My Ham and Swiss Sand Which was GREAT! My PG Tip tea was The best I’ve ever had. The Staff was beyond awesome, they were so generous. The Coffee shop was very British based. The Coffee shop has many characteristics; super welcoming. Loved it here, definitely recommend The Red Dragon!!!

The atmosphere is absolutely wonderful, there’s lots of awesome people working behind the counter. There’s a girl walking around wearing a «Fuck the Police» shirt in pink letters, absolutely hilarious sense of humour, it definitely fits the British concept of the café. Definitely enjoyed my sandwich, and the pesto is amazing. Would come back here and camp out on the couch, and spend my life savings on these sandwiches.

Just walked in for their soft opening and krista, the owner was so welcoming and sweet!!! She let us try the cookies, tea and coldbrew of the house for the grand opening… all delicious! We will definitely be back for afternoon tea!

Ok sooo visited a friend and instead of braving the LA traffic I came here for some grub. Kind of tucked away, but I’m glad I drove around a few times because this place is awesome. I love the atmosphere. Old tables and chairs and paintings. Anyways the two young women working there were super nice and helped with all my questions which is good cause I’m weird. The coffee was good and the breakfast sandwich was amazeballs. Anyways i love the whole place. Come stop by and give them your money cause it is worth it.

Walked into a groovy room with some people doing stuff. The lady that runs the place is nice and welcoming.
The coffee is good. The food was something I wasn’t stoked on. Too pricey for not enough food. They make small sandwiches and stuff that might be good for a couple girls to snack on but not man meals.
I like the spot, the staff and the coffee and would go here for my morning java if I was a student.

I have nothing but good things to say about this place. Great service, and amazing rooibos tea, but what won me over was their vegan selections! They may not have a lot of options, but great ambience, and music. Thanks for your service guy.

This review is for Steven the manager. Nice kid, but needs more managerial experience in my opinion. Since he doesn’t know how to listen to a complaint, maybe he can read it. I wasn’t rude, or aggressive, was just trying to explain that I am lactose intolerant hence the reason I ordered a «vegan» portobello sandwich. A simple apology would have sufficed, but it seems you couldn’t even do that. I don’t understand why you became defensive when all I asked was for a refund. I didn’t ask to speak to a manager. Listen to your customers before you offer a solution to the problem… etc etc… Needless to say I’m not going back, I think you guys need to take the vegan option off your menu, if you have certain customers with allergy problems double check with them and make sure you repeat their order back to them. Either way good day to you sir

This place is really awesome! It was our first time visiting The Red Dragon and everything from the atmosphere to their service was exceptional! The place is quite small but still very cozy. Krista, the owner, greeted us with a smile and a friendly waiter helped us to choose the meal from the menu. Talking about the food, their breakfast sandwich was soooo delicious, probably the best one I’ve ever had in my life! They also have a good selection of tea so if you are a tea lover just like me you will be pleasantly surprised with what they offer. All in all, I am really glad to have found such a great place to spend some time just reading a book or talking to a friend and having a cup of quality tea that I will certainly be back in a short while! So if you are in East Hollywood, you should definitely drop by! You will love it!

What a delightful find!
Killing time before a show at the Virgil, I wandered down for a slice of coffee cake enticed by that free cup of coffee with my Unilocal check in and I’m glad I did.
Comfortable, friendly, great music and tasty coffee. Random location but worth the extra walk.

Wow, i love everything about this place! The atmosphere, the décor, the food, and the service !!! There are outlets for you to do work on a laptop if needed, free wifi, and the employees were genuinely very kind and helpful! The only issue is the place is a little small. Maybe only 5 tables total, 6 if you include the one table outside.
One thing I must comment on, their breakfast sandwich is one of the best sandwiches I have ever had!!! God, how do I even begin to describe something so delicious. I am a true believer that the most delicious things in life are the ones that can kill you lol. The bread for the breakfast sandwich is sweet. They cut out pieces of the bread so they can make a grilled cheese on the outside of the sandwich. Inside the sandwich are pieces of BACON, scrambled eggs, and MORE CHEESE. I have never had something so sweet, savory, and delicious !!!

Talk about finding the true gem!
Couldn’t find coffee bean or starbucks nearby and it was the best thing that’s happened.
Sam & Krista are seriously the role model of boutique coffee shop who serves with pride, respect and passion for what they do as baristas & Tea masters.
The service is incredible. The authenticity of their ownership of work & service truly makes your day.
Simple tea/​coffee interaction but you walk out of the shop with a huge smile and stored faith in humanity.

Absolutely wonderful staff, great selection of tea, and best best sandwiches you can get! The ambiance of the place is magical and I love the homey feel of the setup. The perfect place to meet up with friends and have a chat/​bite to eat! Overall, a great way to place that I always look forward to visiting when I’m back in LA.

Came here with my boyfriend at 9:30am on a Friday morning. Met Krista (owner), she’s awesome! We let her know it was our first time and that we were local, and she gave us a welcome tea (earl grey and lavender) and cookies from the UK, on the house! Such a sweet woman. The interior is funky and eclectic too, with old timey, jazzy music playing in the background.
I’m honestly very sad that I didn’t come here earlier! There are so many cafes on the same street, right next to each other, but Red Dragon Café takes the cake! Come here!

Lovely staff, colorful ambiance, delicious drinks, food, and sweets!
I ordered a breakfast sandwich at 2pm (yes they serve breakfast all day which is a blessing.) The perfectly cooked egg, sharp cheddar, avocado (an add on), and smoky bacon topped onto two slices of sourdough bread was to die for. Drizzled with maple syrup and served with a side of fruit, this grilled sandwich was everything I wanted in a breakfast meal for lunch. I got a side of earl grey lavender tea with half and half and it was super fragrant and refreshing.
The young staff were super friendly and make you feel like home. 5 stars!

Dad is down the street at Kaiser. He said hospital did not feed him dinner and wanted a cupcake. Unilocaled and found this place. Like how confusing to call this business Red Dragon. Is it a karate place, herbal place? Nope, it’s a British themed coffee shop.
I came in at 8 pm. Dead like a cemetery. Oh wait, there’s a girl with a laptop. As I approach the counter, so does she. Oh she works here. I asked to see if they have cupcakes. She looks around and says (she’s really sweet actually) «no sorry, all we have are these» points at a blueberry cake and some Danishes.
I asked for the price, she doesn’t know. Looks at her iPad then asks another girl.
Then comes the most mind boggling thing I’ve ever seen!
She picked up the pastry with a spatula. But she was unable so she used her bare hands to put them in this foil. She put two pastries and wants to somehow wrap it together. I was thinking «nah, that won’t work.» But again, sweet girl, I didn’t wanna make her nervous. So one minute goes by, still trying to foil two pastries in one foil. All this time while handling and touching the pastry with bare hands. With her french manicures, I figured she’s dainty and therefore clean. But by the fourth pastry being flipped and handled and picked up, I was thinking «I really don’t know if this is ok. I don’t know where her hands have been.» Five minutes of wrapping pastries into foils like presents. No way I thought, there are three year olds with better control of their fingers. I was amazed at how slow this whole process was.
Took a bite of each pastry. Blueberry was good, like a muffin it was moist. The Danish was light not too sweet. Ok. Staff just needs better food handling training.

Venice looking café but its pretty quiet and calm. Feels like I’m wifing on shrooms here haha Wifi junkie study place with

— Clean bathroom in back, but be ware it’s pretty dark back there

Located across from LACC. Super nice staff and friendly customers, vegan pastries, lunch foods. New fav spot wifi spot!
Of course I assume this place would be packed during midterm and finals week via LACC’s schedule.
