Established in 2006.

The Notion Studio was originally established by Photographer Damir K It was his vision to create an upscale studio where clients could enjoy wide open spaces and a professional atmosphere. Having been in the photography business for years, he realized it was increasingly difficult to find locations that inspired quality, original content while still catering to the needs of a professional production. The result was the creation of The Notion Studio. A beautiful shooting space that is always evolving, the studio is regularly updated and improved. Our goal is to create an ongoing business relationship so that returning clients always have something different to inspire the imagination.

I did a portrait session with Damir, he gave me a great price, and was very professional. I received the images right away, and he does wonderful touch up work as well. Really is the full package, and for what you get with his amazing studio conveniently located in downtown LA, it really is an awesome value.

I did a car shoot at this studio using the Cyc walls. It was great that they have both a black and white Cyc available in addition to a lot of other backdrops.
The facility was clean and organized with helpful staff and additional equipment available if we needed. Also, the privacy and security of the studio was ideal for us to complete our shoot without outside interruption.

This place is amazing. Rented the studio out for a full day service for a magazine shoot. Lots of space with different backdrops to chose from! They had all Profoto equipment I needed in house and it saved me a huge hassle having to rent it elsewhere and bring it in. Staff was helpful & friendly. Would definitely be coming to this studio for future business big you’re looking for space and creative themes, this is your place!

I’ve had the pleasure of working with Notion Studios for 3 years now during E3, the largest gaming/​interactive convention held in the US. The staff has always been professional and very easy to work with. The location is absolutely perfect and centrally located by affordable hotels and most importantly the Los Angeles Convention Center.
The space is exceptionally clean and open, allowing it to be the perfect location for several different types of projects. It has truly been a pleasure renting this space for weeks at a time over the past few years, and will continue to rent the space for as long as the studio allows us. Can’t say enough good things about this place. Highly recommended.

The Notion studio is the best! We used the studio to shoot our jewelry line and we were extremely impressed by how versatile this space can be! This studio is very spacious and well equipped with multiple backdrops. There are a lot of props you can use for different photography styles. This space also has a wonderful lounge area where you can relax and eat.
Our experience was pleasurable thanks to the staff and wonderful studio. We definitely recommend renting this space out!

Damir’s The Notion Studio is absolutely top notch. Fully equipped with both a large white cyc and a large black cyc, as well as more than a dozen background and set pieces, you really do get a lot of possibilities as a photographer or videographer here.
You can also drive in picture vehicles for a shoot or filming.
As for Damir, he is very talented and has a great eye for design, color, and photography. I’ve worked with him on several shoots and the clients, the models, the hairstylists, wardrobe, and makeup all come out very happy with his results.
You really can’t go wrong with Damir, and you really can’t go wrong with The Notion Studio

Damir is a very talented photographer. I hired him a few years ago and again recently. This review reflects mostly the recent shoot, which was at a beach location I rented at his suggestion. He provided all unedited shots, and said to send a few choices for him to photoshop (which he did promptly after the first shoot). This time he did not respond to my messages, so I had to pay a 3rd party additional for editing. The beach shoot cost $ 4,000 (Damir’s $ 2,500 day rate + $ 1,500 location costs). Then I had to spend an additional $ 700 for someone else to edit my few choices. Damir actually DID photoshop one dress shot (for the designer I rented the gown from), so he did provide ONE really great finished shot :-)

Best best best studios HANDS DOWN! I had to do a bridal couture shoot/​high end fashion shoot. I was blown away with what we could do. Thank you all who were involved! Super clean, easy set ups, amazing light and this place can be transformed into whatever you need!
I will be definitely using this place again when I shoot next.

Looking for a film location I came across The Notion Studio. I enjoyed the high end amenities and my client loved the studio. It offers the same amenities as the big Hollywood studio at a much more affordable rate. The staff is very helpful and knowledgeable. I Would highly recommend to anybody looking for a location for still or video.

I’ve had the pleasure of modeling with Damir several times over the last few years. He is an incredibly talented photographer. His skilled lighting techniques and eye for flattering camera angles reflect his unique creativity. His finished product always captures and highlights each subjects’ individual beauty so that each photograph is distinct.
Notion Studio is such a fun, innovative place to shoot. The environment is comfortable and relaxing, yet inspires the imagination to create beautiful art. I highly recommend this place!

I would like to thank Damir for allowing me to use his studio space to have my makeup done for my event. Location in DTLA was easy to find and I did not have trouble finding parking. The Notion Studio is cool, spacious, comfortable.
We rented half day for the photo shoot, we had a great time.
The studio was big enough for 15 people hanging around,
and you could use a couple of different settings for the shoot besides a white cyc.
manager was quick and very attentive. over all, a great studio.
only thing i wish was they had their own parking but it’s DTLA…
the public parking right across the street is 8 but if you don’t mind walking a little, there’s cheaper ones around.
