It’s like pulling teeth and nails to et someone here to help you. Instead they all group around and talk or act so bothered when you need help. What were you hired for! Not to lounge around. Attitude central over here. Took 20 minutes and me asking 5 employees to help cut a piece of wood… smh! They need a complete overhaul of workers or benefits beed to be better. Give the employees a reason to love working or something! I don’t know! Damn I just need some help every now and again!

In the past I’ve had nothing but great experiences with Home Depot employees at all locations. They are generally incredibly nice, knowledgeable and eager to help. Unfortunately I’ve had a couple bad experiences at this Jefferson Blvd. location.
Yesterday my wife and I were shopping for a washer and dryer. Maybe its because we look young, but every single time we’ve browsed the appliance section at this location we get completely ignored by employees. In any other section we get offered help without asking. There were 4 employees in the section yesterday, not on the phone or assisting other customers, just standing there talking to each other. We were not offered help, which I guess is fine, I prefer less pressure. But 2 times we stood by their desk without even getting a look while they talked to each other. I politely said «excuse me» and there wasn’t even a look in our direction. They kept at whatever they were discussing on the computer.
So we left. I’d rather shop where we’re respected and needed than run to different departments or the service desk, begging for attention.
The worst part is there was a great sale on the washer/​dryer combo we wanted and the sale ended yesterday.
A few years ago, we shopped there for a refrigerator only to be ignored while older couples got immediate attention. I’m sure there are young people wasting time there, but we were legit buyers and overlooked twice.
Won’t be back to this location and in the future we’ll choose Lowe’s or a private company over Home Depot whenever available.

To update… they are the worst. Guess I forgot how awful they were and came back. Said they had something in stock– they said they checked– I come in to get they do NOT have it in stock. I should not have been surprised. Seriously, save yourself a headache and don’t shop there unless you totally have to.

Call me crazy but while strolling through the Home Depot this morning I noticed that I feel totally safe and secure here. Is that the weirdest thing ever?! Maybe it’s ‘cuz my old man owned his own construction company and built all of our houses.
Either way, I love the warehouse smell, the sound of cutting wood, and the employees are always so helpful — it’s rare that you can’t find someone to point you in the right direction.
The customers seem happy, too, as if they’re excited to get started on their renovation project or next big overhaul. Dunno. Just kinda love it – too bad it seems like such a long drive.
PS: Good news, Miss Susie Cakes opened up a shop in MDR so you can hit that on your way home. You’re welcome.

Ordered an appliance here. They don’t let you choose a delivery timeframe, and they don’t tell you what the delivery timeframe is until the day before. They also ignore your preferences. Both times I specified a PM preference and they tried to deliver in the morning. They would not wait even 5 minutes before leaving. My appliance broke, I tried to get it replaced, and weeks later they still haven’t delivered. I’m trying to get it cancelled but looks like that might be a pain to do as well.

Returns is easy. Parking is easy. I wish the employees were a little bit more helpful sometimes. It depends on who you get. So they’re not consistent. I had my lock rekeyed and the lady didn’t really quick yesterday. It was only five dollars to get the lock rekeyed. And they can duplicate your keys super fast with this machine there.

I will never buy a Christmas tree anywhere else! $ 28.00 for a gorgeous 6 ft pine tree!
Also, it was trimmed, based, and a jolly little elf brought it on top and tied it down nice and tightly on top of my Honda so I can safely drive that baby straight down Jefferson in a hurry!
They also took a pic with my mom! Great service! Love this place!

This review might be more for Gail of the Gardening section as opposed to the store as a whole. She took the time to help me find a certain package of batteries that I was requesting even though it seemed she was more acclimated to the Gardening section.

Terrible Service at the Marina Del Rey HomeDepot! Lies, worthtless customer service and one less buyer!

I paid a visit to Home Depot recently after being forced to make some drastic changes around the house. To make a long story short… we’ve been forced to seriously step our game up when it comes to securing our dog while we’re away.

I’ll confess right now that I’m not much of an amateur handyman. That being said, I’m a fish out of water when it comes to wandering through the caverns of Home Depot. I arrived just prior to closing time (awesome that the place is open so late!)
No one really bothered to ask if I was in need of assistance, so I ended up having to get the attention of multiple staff members — one person to point me towards the right aisle for what I was looking for, and another in that aisle to help me find the locks & wires that would fit my needs.
Both of the employees whom I spoke to were kind and helpful. After I found the items that I was looking for, I ended up bumping into Employee #2 while on my way to the cashier; I smiled her way and she stared at me blankly. It was a weird, very awkward exchange.
The customer service continued to nosedive during the checkout process. The cashier who was helping me seemed more concerned about chatting it up with other employees than she did with helping her customers. I honestly don’t think that she made eye contact with me even once.
It’s hard to beat the convenience of a Home Deport that’s open until 11 PM, but that’s still no excuse for crappy service in my book. In fact, I’d rather have the place close earlier in the day for the sake of having a less distracted, more engaged staff.

Actually. This place is the worst. Maddening. There is no other way to describe it. Service is non existent.

I braved this Home Depot behemoth, in need of paint, to be treated borderline civilly by an over-​worked, no doubt hard-drinkin’-after-hours-kinda guy. If memory serves, it took as long to get out of the parking lot as it did to purchase two gallons of paint.
AY (After Unilocal), think yesterday, post-​Black Friday.
My sweetie and I headed here not only for interior paint, but also to source kitchen, bath and lighting fixtures. The paint draw was Home Depot sells 8-​ounce samples (just under $ 4) in flat only but that’s way better than a microchip color swatch AND most low or zero VOC* hues are available in eggshell, matt or matt satin/​enamel, as well as flat. Our way-​closer-​in-​the neighborhood Sherwin Williams reacted like we were from Mars when we asked for the like.
Now, we did our homework on paint manufacturer’s website to select five out of a multitude of eye-​confusing shades of white. Eliminating the need to search preferences in-​store, we simply took our list to the lone paint-​guy, who courteously filled our order of which one shade was only available by the quart. Still a deal to be able to slap up wide areas to experience for a spell, to be absolutely, positively sure it’s what we can live with. AND the paint’s price per gallon is affordable, so once we decide we’ll be back, perhaps for the lighting options we liked too.
Spoiled by the Kitchen Store, Home Depot’s bath/​kitchen cabinetry/​fixtures were adequate but not special enough for us. What was special, a pleasant surprise after my BY shop, was genuinely helpful staff, some of whom actually smiled. Don’t get me wrong, this is still a self-​serve-​kinda place BUT each time we asked for assistance, it was pleasantly delivered. Suspect Home Depot’s HQ has taken our reviews to heart. What a difference over a decade AND Unilocal makes!

4 hours later trying to deal with 100 different people I still have not gotten what I needed. I simply asked to have 4 plants put on hold to set up a delivery and I have been hung up on 6 times now. No one can give me a answer and when it came down to purchasing the plants they were never even put on hold! They have honestly made this way more stressful than it needed to be.
FINALLY a lovely women at customer service Danielle was so helpful and made this process to easy!

so i don’t always find it necessary to write reviews about hardware stores, but damn! you do actually notice a difference between stores.
came here last night with my friend, had blue prints and everything and just needed help finding a specific wood. asked about 3 people that said they would help. we ended up standing there for 30 minutes while no one came.
my friend flagged down a worker who didn’t work in the wood department, so they were completely ignorant of any type of woods available.
and apparently there was no one working at the time who could help us.
not sure if they’re understaffed which i highly doubt since it being 8:00 pm and they close at 11pm!
so obviously they don’t care here.
we went to the home depot on slauson and was helped so much there. avoid this location. there’s a reason why they have 2 stars!

Open at 5am and closing at 11pm is a big plus. The parking lot is usually full but I always manage to get a space as the lot is very big.
There are very few employees so it is pretty much self serve.
Checkout lines are slow as buyers tend to purchase dozens of items to work on their house or business. An express checkout for purchase of 5 or 10 items or less would be helpful.
The selection is quite good in this big box store which is killing the mom and pop hardware stores. Prices are nothing to write home about.

They don’t even answer the phone. I’m not exaggerating.
I called to place an $ 8,000 order last Thurs. Sat on hold for 1.15 hour. I finally drove down there, from Santa Monica, still on hold. I showed them my phone — said 2 hours on hold, and they didn’t even care.
They also won’t let you talk with a manager. This is the only corporate store in the country that will flat out tell you «No. They busy.»
If you have to do business with Home Depot, I recommend the Ladera Heights location. Still sucks, but much less.

I have come to this store several times a month for over 10 years. In the past they have been helpful. On Saturday 9.5.15 i could find no one to help me with lumber (and it was heavy lifting) and when I got to checkout, the cashier offered me a discount if I got a Home Depot card. She assured me it was not a credit card. But after I entered all my personal information including SS it turned out to be a credit card! So I cancelled. I felt she had been dishonest with me.
When I went to load my lumber, I got zero assistance while the crew out in loading talked among themselves for over half an hour. Next time I’m going to Anawalt Lumber or Lowe’s. The service at this store has gone way down hill!

I’ve been shopping at this location for the past few months; I have spent thousands of dollars in almost every department.
So far, this has been the best stocked and most helpful Home Depot I’ve ever been to. Good job Mr. Manager.
On one occasion, I remember that more one person was helping us find things. They’re always ready to help.
I was there yesterday and a cute, White Pigeon had flown in and landed right next to me – Good Energy :)

Solid Home Depot, tons of parking, easy to get to, and well stocked.
The staff however is not overly helpful or informed, but it is LA after all, not a lot of good handy people around to work here.
An abundance of «helpers» outside willing to do pretty much anything: garbage removal, landscaping, hauling, packing, moving, planting, and probably a whole lot more. There are some good ones outside that have business cards, reputations, speak English, and won’t rip you off, and then there are some that aren’t like that, so be cautious, have friends with you, and someone that speaks Spanish.

It’s the closest one to Westwood. We really need one on the Westside, although I understand the space constraints. In any case, this store is large, but lacks the variety available online. I guess my big issue was that I was looking for new doorbells, and asked 4 different associates, all who told me different aisles. It’s a big store, and I was walking in circles. A little frustrating. Ultimately, I did find a small selection of doorbells.
I did have a good experience in the closet door department though. The gentleman was very helpful and we were done quickly, with the order placed.
