First of all– I’m not vegan, but my coworker is a pescatarian turned vegan. So we come here just about every Friday. And honestly, as a person who eats meat regularly… this place is SOO good. I actually look forward to coming here on «Vegan Fridays»! I’d tried quite a few items on the menu, and my favorite is still the Club Sandwich. That tempeh bacon! YUM!!!

Tried this place a few times. The service and ambiance is great. Not too badly priced for vegan(though $ 4 for few pieces of bacon kind of blew my mind, ha), but I’m not vegan so I find few dishes here pretty bland. I’d give this place a 4-star, but I’m adding the extra star since my non-vegan taste buds probably aren’t doing this place justice.

Place is great. Desserts are a must try, and the veggie pizza is an addiction. The atmosphere is great for a meeting or a casual dinner date. Great place to meet up with friends too. Service is always friendly and the price isn’t too bad.

I love this place. The food is delicious and it accommodates my GF/No-Dairy diet. But I gotta say I’m really unimpressed with how my hotdog turned out. Whoever is reading this. Do Not. I repeat Do Not try the Hotdog. Not worth it. Try the club, the enchiladas, tuna roll, the Reuben or the nachos. Still love this place tho lol

I’ve had this restaurant on my bookmarks for a while now and I finally went in yesterday afternoon to have lunch. It was around 3pm and my niece and I had just left the LA fitness expo at the convention center so we were opting for something healthy but delicious; wow did this place deliver! The place itself isn’t intimidating at all, I know most people feel that way about vegan restaurants but this one is very welcoming. The parking lot is a bit limited but not to small. We went on a Sunday so the lot was full but someone was leaving as soon as we arrived so parking wasn’t difficult. We walked in and we weren’t sure if to seat ourselves or wait for the waiter so I just grabbed the menus myself and sat on a booth. We were attended right away by our waitress, and she brought out water without us even asking! awesome! I wish I would have gotten her name she was really nice. The menu is not at all confusing to look at, it is very expansive and direct without being a whole chapter book long. I ordered the reuben sandwich with potatoes, and my niece got the club sandwich. The Reuben: OHHHMAAGODDD. delicious! best sandwich I’ve ever had no doubt. The bread was perfect and the«meat» was cooked perfectly.(I think it was tempeh but I’m not to sure) The potatoes need some work but I was to the point were I didn’t mind because the reuben was so good! The Club: awesome as well! It had a very picnic fresh like taste to it. Overall just a really gorgeous place, the staff wasn’t rude or to annoying, the food was amazing, and the menu makes you want to order more than one item. I didn’t order dessert but the next time I will! the cakes look very fresh!

We were pleasantly surprised! We just moved to the area and looked at the menu on Unilocal and the food looked amazing. We ordered delivery because the kitchen is still not out together, we ordered coffee, breakfast and lunch food for the day. The food arrived and the coffee was GREAT and the food was absolutely amazing! We were so happy with the quality and they followed up on the phone with questions, everything was packaged very nicely with utensils. We LOVE the food and we highly recommend it, we will be ordering again!

This place is pure awesome! This is my second time here, and it’s more than worth the drive for me. I live in the San Fernando Valley. The tuna melt is way beyond delicious, the best of ever had. The desserts are off the chart! I’ve never seen full-size cakes in the vegan restaurant before. Tantalizing doesn’t come close to describing them! them. As well as other desserts.

The ambiance, the service and the food all surpassed our expectations. This place is so comforting, fresh and homey. The food is super tasty with a gazillion choices for the vegan soul to feast on. Breakfast, lunch, dinner and desserts galore. And great coffee/tea selections too! I highly recommend The Grain Café.

$ 20 minimum order for delivery PLUS a $ 3 delivery fee?! Great food, but you’re out of your minds charging your patrons like this. I ordered a crêpe, added tempeh bacon & the total came out to $ 18& some change. Which is already ridiculously overpriced for one crêpe. The person taking my order said I STILL had to order something else to be able to get my food delivered. Why am I being charged a delivery fee then? When I asked to speak to someone, the next person who came on the line then said the minimum order was $ 25! You need to get your employees on the same page on how you’re going to overcharge your customers. Was super stoked to be living close to a place that does delivery outside of pizza but I will be very reluctant to patronize this business again.

Great vegan spot with good food and fair prices. Plenty of ways to avoid gluten too. You can make your own meal by choosing from different categories. That’s what I did. I picked four and was pleasantly full. The garlic«aioli» was really good to go with it. Danielle was a really sweet and attentive server. As we were leaving she suggested the pumpkin bar dessert. It was great! Not too sweet and totally gluten-free. I’ll be back!

Great fresh squeezed juices! Amazing vegan desserts. Love the waterfall wall at the new location, very tranquil and relaxing. Grain Café is a great healthy option for vegans and non-vegans alike! Love this place!

I’ve been going here on two years now, ever since they first opened and it’s only gotten better! The food is excellent and consistently so, the service is good and they have moved into the unit next door which is a larger space and pretty, wood booths and counter, a lovely tile wall with water flowing down and enough big windows for good natural light. I often get their club sandwich which is really delicious, other great things I’ve had are the hotdog(homemade) with sauerkraut, the curry chicken salad, the kale tacos and their falafel dish. The«Grain» breakfast combo is pretty awesome too! And I love their red hibiscus/berry ice tea. I would highly recommend this place and am thrilled to have them in my neighborhood.

Great spot! Never enough vegan places, but this one really stands out. The décor is unique and tasteful, great ambiance in wood and tile. Parking situation is pretty good but I didn’t go at peak hours. I ordered the Reuben with a salad and the pumkin spice latte from the special menu. I don’t usually get froofroo coffee drinks but it’s rare to see such a thing in Vegan and it was Chicago today so I went for it. It was delicious, though if you usually go for black coffee like me it will seem a little under-caffeinated. The REUBEN was AWESOME. I have been on a Holy Quest for a good Reuben since I saw the green light of Vegan Jesus and today I found it. This VReuben stomps on its lesser brethren from Floré and other high-end places I have been. STOMPS. Tempeh was chewy and flavorful, sauerkraut brisk but not overpowering, sauce subtle and delicious, bread crispy soft and supportive and not too greasy. No fingerprints on my phone right now! It was the kind of sandwich where you dive right in and then all of a sudden it’s gone and you’re like NOOOOWHATHAPPENED?! And you console yourself that at least you still have the mixed green and quinoa side salad with the lil tomatoes so you sadly dig into it and OMGIT’S AMAZINGTOOWHATISTHISZESTYDRESSING? And then you finish your latte and wonder if you can stall the check long enough to be able to eat dessert too. A new Star on my map of LA. EDIT: I just had the Pollo Crêpe it is very good too but not as good as the reuben. Super stretchy awesome crêpe though!

Loved loved loved my food. So delicious and what a good taste! Everything is organic and vegan :) the chicken club sandwich was the best chicken club sandwich I’ve ever had. Just writing this review makes my mouth water. I also had the carrot cake. It was great! I ordered takeout at the restaurant and while I waited for my food to be ready everyone was so attentive. One of the best vegan restaurants I’ve tried so far in Los Angeles! Will definitely be back

I just ordered from this place and the first thing I noticed was they just didnt include my side salad– maybe not a HUGE deal but I was really looking forward to having it(and also this place is not cheap and they skimped me on what I paid for). The pizza was alright, comforting like pizza should be, but I think I just dont like daiya cheese and it tasted like I could have made this myself on flatbread. The falafel wrap is actually pretty great. If I came back, I would stick with the falafel wrap. I am between vegetarian/vegan and I just think there are better veg places than grain café.

Highly recommend this spot for vegans! Very friendly service from start to finish and fast too. We ordered the falafel wrap and The Grain breakfast plate(pancakes, tofu scramble, tempeh bacon, potato hash). Very well done vegan food, tasty, and generous portions. For dessert we tried the coconut cake and the strawberry almond cake, both awesome(wish the latter had more of an almond flavour though!). To make it even better, the prices are very reasonable, especially for vegan café food which is often overpriced. It’s also a chill place with plenty of seating and a totally non-pretentious vibe(unlike some other vegan joints *couch*cafegratitude*cough*). I definitely get the feeling this is a hidden vegan gem!

The Grain Café is such a treat for vegans. The menu is so expansive. There’s wraps, burgers, sandwiches, rolls, savory crepes, sweet crepes, breakfast items, pastas, bowls, to all kinds of Mexican dishes(burritos, tacos, quesadilla, enchiladas, mole stuff, relleno, and more). I’ve previously tried the Pesto Chickin Pasta and I remember it being very delicious, satisfying minus the heavy factor. The pasta was generously packed with different green veggies. I’ve also tried one of their Taco Specials, the Chorizo Tacos(two tacos for $ 9.95, add beans and rice for $ 3 extra) and they were excellent. Everything about the taco was delicious. The fresh soft corn tortilla, salsa, pico de gallo, guacamole and the very flavorful chorizo… loved it! The only downside is the dish is rather pricey. For 2 smaller-than-hand-size tacos, and I have small hands, and a little bit of chips it’s $ 10. To really make it a satisfying meal, one should add the rice and beans for $ 3 and that’s $ 13 for a plate of two tacos with two sides… muy pricey! They also have a ton of vegan desserts: cakes, truffles, cheesecakes… so many options. I really hope the owner Oscar opens a second location soon in the South Bay area like he has previously mentioned. The drive out to this part of LA is such a pain that it really prevents me from enjoying The Grain Café as often as I’d like.

Delicious and inexpensive little eatery off Pico, in the same shopping center as Mateo’s ice cream(those strawberry bars tho!) Unilocal says they’re a good vegan option, but carnivores, and sugar-aholics, will also find something that suits their fancy on the menu. Upon entrance you’re met with a pastry bar to the left. Red velvet cupcakes, cheesecake and carrot cake beckoned me at first glance. The back wall is lit up in colored lights displaying a tiled water feature. You can sit in a booth right by the fountain if you care to. They have wifi, and I saw a few customers on their laptops while they had lunch. I ordered the falafel wrap and the chicken curry wrap. I can’t decide which one I like better. The falafel was moist but not gooey, a perfect texture inside the spinach wrap. The chicken curry was a little sweet rather than spicy, almost like chicken salad but with a dressing that was a little more runny than mayo. I want to try some of the desserts and the chicken club sandwich. This is a great healthy option near my new digs. I’m excited to return!
