Very expensive and they will try to add in extra charges if you are not paying attention. Like, an extra dollar for lettuce. Burgers are pretty small for costing nearly $ 20 aka cart(closer to $ 30 with a side and drink). I get it, you’re at LAX, but it’s still very bad.

Delicious food and calming energy amidst stressful airport travel. The cashier behind the counter was extremely courteous and got my food out quickly. Service with a smile and calming touch. I was so happy with service and the delicious burger(scrumptious healthy veggie burger) I had to help this!

Compared to the Counter in other areas, this one is mediocre. But for LAX standards, I guess it’s one of the better ones they have. Still, I wouldn’t really give anything in LAX4 stars because airport food and service tends to be on the lower end. The workers there all take their time and slack while plenty of people are waiting in line. Food is not bad though. People at airports have a tight schedule, so if workers can improve their service, then I think it will deserve an extra star.

I found the combination of a burger, fries, and craft beer to be much better than typical for an airport. Service was quick. A nice addition at LAX.

The burger was good. It was fresh and very tasty. But they lost stars from me simply for the price. I’ve eaten at the location in the Bay Area and enjoyed it very much, so I splurged, but at the end of the meal, I just felt cheated. Standard burger with cheese: $ 11.50 I did NOT like their fries… top thin and small. I like thick fries. Small fries: $ 4.00 Couldn’t afford a drink… total for burger and fries and…$ 15.21!!! OUCH! Handy tip, you can tear the lid off completely to make eating the meal easier.

When I arrived gate, I found The Counter. It sounds good, showing CUSTUMBUILTBURGER. I ordered menu #12, and it is exactly like these pictures. I don’t think this is worth for $ 13.08 including tax. With the money, I can have 3 of double cheese burgers at in n out.

Yes, the food is expensive; something I cannot quite wrap my head around as to why, other than companies’ bottom line and taking advantage of travelers. The turkey burger in brioche bun was very good. It was perfectly cooked, the bun was toasted well, and the combined flavors added for an enjoyable meal. The customer service was exceptional! The shift lead, was sympathetic, empathetic, and nearly jumped out of his trainers to help and make certain that I was taken care of and wanted for nothing. I cannot speak highly enough of these two. Ask for them when you arrive, they’ll make it all worth while.

Confusing Expensive and just not good. My burger was like a charcoal briquette. Be prepared to wait a long time and then be disappointed.

Food was decent but extremely pricey since it was at the airport. Also, make sure to check your order since they messed up my order.

For quick-service at the airport, this is a fairly slow experience. The burgers come in a super-deep to-go box that makes fishing it out to eat very difficult. The burgers are decent, but the difference in quality at the airport versus the quality at their bricks and mortar restaurants is measurable. I have good things to say about this mini-chain outside of LAX, but… One huge improvement would be to post a menu; don’t just leave the menu available at the front of the line, post it on the wall. That would help speed up the line.

An okay meal. I don’t know about the original joint/chain, so I had no preconceived notion. My observations: — Yes, they take a while. If you want fast food, go to McDonalds. I came in in the late afternoon with just 1 person in front of me, it took 10 minutes. — Staff was friendly. — Had the buffalo blue chicken sandwich. Wasn’t bad. Not worth the airport pricing though. Sauce was barely noticeable. — Parmesan fries made the meal. Very tasty. And you get a lot… be prepared to share with someone. $ 8 is a little steep, was almost worth it. — Might try a burger next time… but then again, I probably won’t go out of my way to eat here. About as «meh» of a review as I can muster.

In full disclosure, definitely went into this expecting to hate it. The Counter was our go-to burger place when we lived in Palo Alto, but bringing it to an airport food court, just seemed to cheapen and stretch the brand too far. Am pleased to report, they did a reasonable good job of holding standards. Not as good as the off airport venues, but good and filling choice for LAX. Ingredients tasted really fresh, food was more than abundant and it was ready in under 5 minutes. Downsides are that it’s expensive for what it is(but of course it is in the airport) and the ambiance is food court shabby.

Don’t come here if you are in a rush to catch a flight. This place gets 1 star due to the incredibly slow service and kids meal. It gets another full star for nice employees, which is underrated these days. We placed one kids order of mini cheeseburgers at 5:11pm and it wasn’t ready for 20 minutes. We watched at least 10 people come and go who came after us. When we inquired about my boy’s burgers, we were told that they are waiting on the fries… So, I guess no one else had ordered fries?! When we finally picked our order up, one of the chefs apologized and even offered me a bottle of water afterwards. He deserves 5 stars. Unfortunately, the meal itself included 2 super duper mini burgers. It may be ok for a toddler but that’s about it. My babe quickly finished them and was still hungry. He’s had mini burgers before and said these were the smallest and wishes they were bigger. A ton of fries though-perhaps to make up for service. Regardless, for about $ 8 and a 20+ minute wait, we won’t be back.

You definitely get what you pay for. Slow service with subpar food and uninterested employees… Although it is one of the more affordable food vendors in LAX so I suppose you get what you pay for. I will admit the iced tea was pretty delicious.

What a pleasant surprise! When my husband and I arrived to our United terminal to catch a red eye flight, we were beginning to regret not eating dinner beforehand. Fortunately we stumbled upon The Counter & experienced both excellent food and service. My husband loved his turkey burger and banana milkshake, & my quinoa salad was sooo delicious! The food was so good, that if it were a regular restaurant, I’d return weekly. Prices are a bit high but fair considering what you get(we’re in LAX, after all!) I can’t remember the names of the two gentlemen who helped us, but they were awesome! I believe one was the manager & the other a chef, so whoever was working just before closing on Feb 6th — thank you!

Dry Turkey Salad, Healthy Though There was a kerfuffle with the ordering process. Both sides were at fault. I eventually got my salad despite some initial attitude about ordering it incorrectly. I didn’t expect it to come on so much alfalfa, but that’s what I received. The sautéed peppers were really good. The burger was well done(overcooked). Compared to the other options, it was a pretty healthy meal though.

One of the worst places I’ve eaten at in a long time. I ordered a build-your-own breakfast omelette and the best thing on that thing was the ketchup from the packages I squeezed onto it. I’m serious though –__– Initially impression was that there is no menu on display and I had no idea what was offered here. The cashier took a long time to take and finish my order and the food was not even warm when it came out. Eggs tasted plasticy. The service was bad as they charged me extra for the cheese and when I asked a staff about it he was confused and didn’t even know how the prices on the build-your-own menu worked and had to ask another worker. I asked her if she needed my card to refund me the extra charge so I could go get it and she said«no, we refund in cash». Well when the manager came out to make the refund transaction I had to run back to our table and get my credit card. Seems like the staff here are a bit confused of the business they are working for. Anyways, I don’t have a single positive feedback about this place. Except maybe that the ketchup tasted cool, but that was from the communal concession stand at the food court. I went through 8 packages of those to help mask the plasticy taste of the eggs. T__T

The counter is here is ok. I’ve heard so much about it elsewhere but apparently the LAX location doesn’t do justice to its brand. Spent $ 16 on shoestring fries and a burger. I got the purist. The atmosphere is food court style. Staff were aloof watching the nba game being played at the time. I had to wait for them at the counter to order. It took about 15 minutes to cook the burger which was surprising cause the purist is just a party. The burger was ok. It wasn’t that juicy or tender. Just seemed normal. Didn’t «wow» me. Shoestring fries were bomb! But I’m a sucker for fries. Salty and crispy. All in all. Didn’t really love it. Burger was okay. Service wasn’t that great. Don’t think I’ll return here in the next decade.

PITSTOP There is nothing like a night flight from the South Pacific and landing in LA with a hungry belly, after a certain unnamed airline feed us nothing. I would have expected a morning breakfast sandwich or a piece of fresh fruit or something but nothing. So that means we were at the mercy of airport food and that can be an adventure considering how bad airport food is. Can we start a petition to make it mandatory for Rick Bayless to install a Tortas Frontera in every airport in America? That would be perfect for the travel industry. So we were very tired and searching for food at LAX. We came across this place. I noticed that there motto was grass fed and fresh burgers. I suggested that maybe we start our morning out with a burger but my suggestive sell did not work. Instead my better half decided to go healthy and order a Veggie Sandwich with egg whites, spinach, ripe tomato, roasted red peppers & feta on a multigrain bun. I must be honest but I was a little guilted into following her lead and ordered the same thing. I went to the counter to order and the young lady working was full of personality. Which is always a good sign for me. I ordered my sandwiches and we had a conversation about travel but I was so tired I can not even remember what we had even talked about. All I could think about was getting my breakfast sandwich. It took a little time to get the food which means that it was cooked fresh to order which is always a positive. The older couple in front of me had ordered 4 burgers and they seemed so confused with carry out food. I helped them by going to get napkins for them. All of the napkins, salt, pepper and utensils are located on an island in the middle of the food court. The couple kept asking for things and she kept sending them back to the island. It was starting to get painful for me. When they couldn’t figure out how to get napkins out of a dispenser I could not stand it anymore and had to help them. The boxes that the sandwiches are put in are huge. In fact, they are so big I believe them might be considered a carryon. Yes they were that big. When I walked back to the gate my wife was wondering what I bought. I informed her that the sandwich was not that big but the box was. We decided to dive into the food and I was very surprised at how good the sandwich was. I was very happy with my choice and deciding to go healthy before my flight. That is always the smart move instead of eating a dish full of fat and salt. We were able to finish our sandwiches prior to boarding and we tossed our giant boxes into the recycling bin and headed on our way back to Chicago. I am very thankful that there was a healthy option for us. I am not sure if I will ever eat here again because LAX has many terminals and I may not fly out of this terminal for a while but if I do then I know where I am getting my breakfast on.

Steuern).

Here was my order: 1⁄3 lb beef, brioche bun, Tillamock cheddar, horseradish aioli, red onion, pickle chips, sprouts, and pepperoncinis with no sides. I was pretty happy to see The Counter as an available choice at the airport but it would turn out that this was a sub-par Counter. I’ve eaten at The Counter elsewhere but they were never this bad. For the price you pay, you’d expect to get a gourmet burger but you’re better off eating at a McDonald’s as you know what to expect no matter which McDonald’s you eat at, even at an airport. Don’t expect your burger to taste the same as it would at a regular Counter location. The taste was just off. Beware if this is your first time eating here, ordering can be very complex for a rookie. Service at this location was not very good. There was clearly a lot of arguing going on among the staff in the open kitchen while there was a backlog of orders to fill. There’s not a whole lot of tables to sit at nearby, so you might as well take the order to go and eat at your gate.
