Teri Ann Gibson, DDS

If you have to go to a dentist, you won’t find a one better than Teri Gibson. I went to her with a toothache over twenty years ago and I’m still with her.
Teri is an excellent dentist. She really cares about what is going on with your teeth. If there is a problem, she will tell exactly what it is and what can be done about it. She always does what is best for you, specifically.
Her office staff is wonderful. Kathy who is the office manager and occasional assistant is awesome.
Dr Gibson’s peripheral associates have all been really good. I’ve had to go to a dental surgeon and a periodontist at different times and each time was given really good care with a lot less pain than I thought I would have.
Thanks to Teri, I’ll have all but two of my own teeth by the time I hit 70.

I have been visiting Teri Ann Gibson since 1989 when I was 9 years old. She is also my parent’s dentist and I have referred a few people to her office. Teri, along with her staff, operate a wonderful practice. They are friendly, genuine and provide excellent care. This is a well established practice that does not pressure patients or use scare tactics when discussing procedures. Sorry if this sounds like preaching but it’s important to take care of your teeth and not neglect them. Regular visits will help prevent major dental work. If you trust your dentist and establish a relationship with them then regular check ups won’t seem so daunting.

It’s so hard to come by a good, friendly, honest and upfront dentist these days. Dr. Gibson is all of the above! I also have to mention how wonderful Kathy the receptionist is, truly a delightful person and extremely helpful. Dr. Gibson and her staff go above and beyond what is expected. This alone is worth the drive to Westwood from Pasadena. She’s always upfront with what she’s doing and explains everything every step of the way.
As long as I’m in LA, there is no other dentist for me.

The staff was great. Very thorough appointment by Dr. Gibson, hygienist and x-​ray technician. They worked with my insurance to make sure all of their services were covered. They made sure I knew if there were any additional charges (which there weren’t) how much they would be if they occurred. They didn’t try to sell me anything which was refreshing.

Overall a great dental office, friendly staff, easy going, comprehensive care, and not out to sell you extra stuff like whitening, pulling out everything like other practices that I’ve been to. Generally also on time, helpful and like the experience overall. Accepts my Delta Dental PPO plan.

Teri was great. Finally I have a dentist who takes their time with you and wants to do things right because they actually enjoy their job in the healthcare business! She really does explain everything to you without making you feel dumb, too. The only possible downside is that the appts can be rather lengthy in duration… but hey, that’s what you should get for quality treatment.

Doctor Gibson was great. I just moved down here and didn’t have insurance. She was super nice and didn’t charge me for a few things most dentists would have jacked me on. Very nice and explained everything she was going do before she did it. She will be my So Cal dentist for the duration of my stay here in this hell hole called LA.

How refreshing to find a dentist that doesn’t want to sell you a whole new set of teeth! I’ve lived in LA for a while now, and this has been by far my best dental experience since moving away from my childhood dentist. For anyone who has experienced the healthy teeth sales pitch (state of the art toothbrush, whitening, veneers, cavities that aren’t really cavities, etc.), this place is refreshing.
Dr. Gibson’s office is a little tricky to find. It’s located in the brick building above Tengu and Italian Express in Westwood. It’s very homey inside. I get really nervous at the dentist, but I liked the soothing blue color on the walls, and there were lots of family pictures and cards up.
I had the first appointment of the day, so they saw me right away. Dr. Gibson was very reassuring, and explained to me what she was doing the entire time. The dental hygenist Mary Jo is great. I don’t floss, and in the past I’ve been berated by dental hygenists, leaving me feeling especially crappy. Mary Jo sympathized, and suggested some ways to incorporate it, without trying to sell me a $ 300 floss machine or telling me that my teeth are going to fall out.
Overall, I still loathe going to the dentist, but I’ll definitely come here again. Only four stars instead of five because there’s no parking, and hell, it’s still the dentist.
