T specializes in tea and tea accessories. We sell a range of loose leaf teas as well as pots, cups, strainers, and more! For those of you not interested in making your own we fresh brew cups of hot or ice cold tea. We even carry boba to make your drink a bit more interesting.

Blooming teas are also very popular at our shop. They aren’t easy to find. When you brew the tea you’ll want to brew it in a pot that is see through. A beautiful hand crafted presentation will unfold inside your pot creating an interesting and tasty conversation piece.

History

Established in 2005.

T was built a few years ago and is fairly new. Despite the shops age the knowledge of the employees make you believe they’ve been in business for ages.

T was started by Young Min who also owns the famous hot sauce shop Light My Fire and Young is also referred to as the Pepper Lady.

Young Min is not new to creating successful niche businesses. She owns a hot sauce shop, Light My Fire, which has been in the market for nearly 10 years now. Light My Fire and Young Min have been seen on television many times and featured on the news twice!

This stand and Monsieur Marcel are the only reasons to explore the Farmer’s Market nowadays, as the rest of the restaurant/​food stands are sub-​par to mediocre at best. They have an excellent selection of teas at great prices. The customer service is good. If you buy multiple types of tea, request to have it placed in separate bags, to prevent one tea from infusing the others.

Thank you for popping up at the very moment I was about to pass out! I was so thirsty! I wanted something refreshing but it had to be a decaffeinated drink. I’m only allowed a certain amount of fluid everyday and I was getting close to my allowed amount. So I wanted something great. I asked the sweet employee if she had anything iced & decaffeinated? Fingers crossed. … yes! I emeditly order the mango tea with popping melon & kiwi boba. Awwww, heaven.
It was perfect. Not too much ice and perfect amount of the boba.
Also they sell a huge selection of tea & Tea pots. My daughter’s been having difficulty sleeping & she made a suggestion on a specific blend that would help her sleep naturally. Hope it works.

Best place to go and buy tea. I love how one of the workers is extremely friendly and welcoming.
The best cold teas I have got from there is the THAI TEA and the HIBISCUS. They taste so good and refreshing, especially in a hot summer day.
I totally recommend this place for everyone. It’s amazing and got amazing teas!

This place is great! I got 3 oz. of tea for less than $ 15. There are really no down sizes to getting your loose tea from this place– great prices, HUGE selection and the woman working behind the counter was extremely friendly!

Although I’m not an avid tea drinker, I was on a specific hunt for quality rooibos tea. The staff helped me find just what I was looking for and were patient with my questions. After following a staff recommendation, I’m now thoroughly enjoying the Bourbon rooibos. I will have to come back for more!

I was visiting the LA area for the weekend, and my friend suggested going to The Grove. After eating a filling lunch at the nearby crêpe place, we were both feeling quite tired and needed a caffeine pick-​up.
Usually tea doesn’t wake me up – I’m a regular coffee drinker, and the caffeine in tea won’t do it for me. I ordered the peach lychee tea, it was extremely potent, and surprisingly strong, unlike many other tea/​boba places. It didn’t have an overwhelming taste of artificial flavor either, it was perfect. It woke me up for the rest of the day. I would go again if I’m in the area.
One sidenote though, this place only takes cash! But the tea isn’t too expensive, so bring ~$ 5 if you’re planning on getting delicious tea!

This tea shop is really in an area where you wouldn’t expect to find anything of the sort. Walking around The Grove/Farmer’s Market, you get a lot of different types of bakeries, random stores, and restaurants. As always, I wanted milk tea. This place doesn’t have a wide assortment of it, and the milk tea is pretty much pre-​made, but it’s not bad at all because they use their own tea. You only get about 3 – 4 choices, but it’s the first place in LA where I’ve had milk tea and could actually taste the tea. Prices are very reasonable at about $ 3.25 for a regular cup of it, but the ice is a little heavy. Nevertheless, beats getting a soda or lemonade on a hot day.

My lips and throat was parched and wasn’t really looking for sweet drinks that were being sold all around us at The Grove/Farmer’s Market. All I really wanted was some iced jasmine green tea. A local boba shop was too far to walk from where we were so I wanted to see if the Farmer’s Market had their own boba stall that sold tea. Stumbled upon this place via Unilocal.This review is solely for their iced drinks.
DRINKS:
Well priced, ended up getting a Strawberry green tea ($ 2.85). Tasted very watered down as if I was just drinking water and strawberry syrup. I was hoping for a stronger tea flavor with strawberry purée of something of the sort. Neither expectations were filled. I guess as another Unilocaler stated, when you have an image of what you expect in your head and you don’t get it, it’s not that satisfying.
SERVICE:
But the lady that made our drinks and took our order was very nice and friendly with a full smile, she offered her opinions when my friend was inquiring about other flavors.
Although I’m very impressed with their dried tea leaf selections. They have a great array of loose leaf teas, even the ones that bloom when you steep it. They also sell a lot of different tea pots and accessories. It seems they’re more specialized in traditional hot tea rather than selling boba and iced tea in my opinion. :P

This was a very expensive cup of boba for not very good taste. The tea flavor was watered down and only had hints of what it should taste like (lychee peach). The boba balls were weirdly soft and lacked the chewiness that I love. The tea selection there was extensive and looked very nice, but I did not get a chance to try it. Overall, I was very disappointed with my boba experience here.

Me and my roommates are huge fans of teas (& coffees/​practically anything caffeinated) and collect as many different kinds as we can for our growing collection.
Seriously an awesome place to go for loose leaf tea.
The menu is very informative about the various types of blends and it’s pretty awesome to chat to the girl working at the counter. :D
Pretty much go here for everything from herbal teas (Cold comfort/​Stomache Ease) to Fruity/​Delicious teas like the Peach-​Mango and the Aji-​Genmacha GreenTea.
Every suggestion so far has been so amazing, we’ve come here to re-​stock often. (Coconut Vanilla/​CHA Thai are to die for!) They also have boba which made it pretty much the cherry on top for our go-​to boba place even if it is pretty far.
Anyways, I know I’ll keep coming back :) LOVE THIS PLACE!

Small shop inside of Farmer’s Market with a large selection of teas by the ounce, you can try and read the cans or just look in the book that lists all the teas, they also have a couple of sampler bags with a nice selection of teas to try if you are not sure what you are looking for, at a discount if you were to buy the 4 teas separately. Prices start at $ 2.95 an ounce so you don’t have to spend a large amount of money to try something new. The Barista was very helpful and suggested a couple of different teas to try. Great Selection, reasonable prices and friendly staff, only drawback is that this location is cash only so plan ahead or you will be disappointed as they don’t take American Express, Discover, Visa, Master Card or any other form of plastic, just good old American Cash.

Great customer service! I was confused on whether the jasmine milk tea would taste milky (i wanted something refreshing and juice-​like drink and generally milk teas are too creamy for me) so the lady was very helpful and provided me with a sample… jasmine milk tea is DELISH. Not too creamy or sweet and they actually brew their tea so it’s not a nasty powder like some places and also it’s not bitter and there’s no gross aftertaste :) I REALLY RECOMMEND GETTING IT.
I really wanted to give this place 5 stars because they are a great little shop admist the farmer market cray atmosphere and they have GREAT but the boba was not very good. It was hard and undercooked. I wish it was chewier like lollicup, I’m not sure but I feel like it might be there style to give out firmer tasting boba? Anyways it would be must better if it was cooked longer, I enjoyed the tea here soo much but the boba could use some work.

Fantastic loose-​leaf, awesome staff and great prices.
They have my favorite organic kukicha here at $ 4.95/oz. It’s impossibly delicious — so good that I ship it to an out-​of-​country friend when she needs to stock up.
What puts it over the top is their staff. In all my visits, I’ve never gotten anything a smidgen less than friendly, genuine service with a smile and a half. Kudos to them for finding such great employees (something NOT in abundance at the Farmer’s Market, or the rest of LA for that matter). I hope they pay and treat them well.

If you’re on a hunt for good boba in LA, T-​Tea might be a bit of a surprise. As you walk up, all you can see is a typical tea shop with canisters of various tea varieties. No cutesy Asian decorations, no Taiwanese workers, no high school teens hanging out. However, don’t be fooled by all this. At the counter, there is a fairly limited milk tea menu for a pretty average price.
I got the Jasmine milk tea with mango jelly. At first sip, I was pleasantly surprised at how delicious it was. Not too sweet, lots of chewy jelly, and very different from what I expected. You can taste how fresh and flavorful their milk tea is, and it only takes about 2 minutes to make. Props to T-​Tea for being a hidden gem inside such a busy market.

A nice little tea stand tucked inside the Farmer’s Market. They sell loose leaf teas, tea pots, infusers, and other accessories, which overwhelm the small shop. For the longest time, I didn’t even know they sold boba, iced tea, and the like.
Hearing good things, I gave the blood orange passion iced tea a whirl. I was a little irked that I wasn’t charged the posted price (I think the difference was about 50 or 75 cents), but so it goes. As for the tea itself, waaaaay too sweet for my tastes. However, I get why it’s popular, and it’s definitely worth trying out once. Think I’ll go for a milk tea next time, though.
I’ve got most of my loose leaf tea needs taken care of other places, but their website suggests they have a great collection for reasonable prices. Maybe I’ll pick up some blood orange rooibos and make some unsweetened iced tea at home!
