Their ice cream is really good, very creamy and not as sweet as other ice cream places…

The ice cream is organic and made fresh in house. I personally liked the sea salt caramel. My husband got the coffee and my niece got the cookies and cream. Everything was delicious and you can choose between chocolate or vanilla cone or cup and various toppings.

The good: the ice cream is generally really good.
The bad:
1) the service is terrible. I’ve been here 50 times and have had bad service almost every time I go.
2) the ice cream is stupid expensive at over $ 5 per scoop. They recently raised their prices AGAIN. ICDC is down the street. Although it’s not quite as good, you get a lot more bang for your buck ($ 3.50 a scoop, no charge to split a scoop between two flavors, and a much bigger scoop).
3) the portions are inconsistent. On more than one occasion, I’ve been served a very small scoop and have had to ask for more. It’s a $ 5 scoop of ice cream. Give me a whole friggin scoop.
4) flavors are hit or miss. The hits are huge hits and are absolutely delicious. The misses are really, really bad. They often run out of hits and have only mediocre to really bad flavors left over.

I came here after spending the day in downtown with my daughter. My first impression was that the creamery has very lovely décor with a hint of a vintage ice cream parlor. The server greeted us and was very friendly and offered many samples to try. So i finally decided on strawberry and cookies and cream in a homemade waffle cone. Delicious. Strawberry is so rich in natural flavor. I will definetly come again.
Tips– Sample the mint and chip ice cream first because its really minty.

Decent ice cream, but you really can’t compare it to Salt & Straw. I had a single scoop of the Sea Salt Caramel. It was just okay. Just wasn’t what I expected since I’ve had it several times elsewhere. I don’t hate it or love it.
It’s in a nice area and just across the street from Terroni where I eat fairly often. Spacious and clean place with very friendly employees.
Street metered parking or just park across the street at the post office for free.

Disappointed that they didn’t have brown butter ice cream but many of their ice cream is seasonal which makes this place always have new ice cream. The interesting flavors does add on to make this place special

Since I have been craving for ice creams for the past 1~2 months, I’ve decided to visit Sweet Rose Creamery again (this time a different location) just to refresh my memories.
All ice creams here are sourced from the original Santa Monica location and they are separated into three categories: classic flavors (vanilla, chocolate, fresh mint chip, salted caramel, Caffe Luxxe coffee), seasonal flavors (cookie dough, olive oil, Ojai Pixie frozen yogurt, etc), and dairy-​free flavors (vanilla coconut, dairy-​free dark chocolate, kiwi sorbet, etc). Single is $ 4.50 ad double is $ 6.75, but you can ask about two mini scoops (I believe $ 1 additional charge) instead of one normal single scoop (not listed on the menu). Coffees, ice cream sandwiches, and sundaes are also available.

Cookie Dough & Olive Oil (two mini scoops for about $ 5.50 + $ 1.50 for chocolate cone): Both had really strong flavors and cookie dough was excellent, but both texture were somewhat watery. Chocolate cone was okay and I probably won’t get it again.

If you can overlook mushy /​soft ice cream texture, inconvenient parking, and slightly sweeter ice creams, then sure you’ll like Sweet Rose Creamery. I like Salt & Straw a bit better due to more diversified and balanced flavors.

Came here around 9pm on a Wednesday night and it was pretty much dead. I can see it would be hard coming here on a weekend just because parking is ridiculous! I just wanted a scoop of ice cream so i tried a few flavors. The coffee flavor is super awesome but I didn’t want to be awake so I stayed away from that. I decided to get the lemon flavored ice cream because I was in a lemony flavor kind of mood. It would be awesome if they had lemon cookies crushed into it! I was hoping they would do one scoop but you can get two flavors but they charge you for that :(I love places where you can do one scoop and get two flavors! Anyways good place to eat but I would rather go to Carmelas or salt and straw. More flavors to choose from!

I LOVE Sweet Rose Creamery. I love how there’s so many unique flavors they offer! Sometimes it ranges to a basil ice cream, earl grey, or something else-​it depends on the season, but It’s so good!
I personally love the fruitier flavors, and love getting banana with their awesome homemade whip cream! It’s phenomenal! The whip cream is a dollar extra, but very well worth it. I really enjoy how the ice cream tastes exactly like the ingredients it says it’s made of. WONDERFUL!

16 bucks for two cones each with two scoops. Definitely too much to finish but DAAAYYUMMMM that’s expensive.
Looking at the reviews for this place I got REALLY excited about trying the flavors — however when I got there they only had 6. That was disappointing.
The mint chip is VERY good. It tastes like real mint! Not the fake stuff.
Blood orange was also good.
Rocky road was good.
Brownie cone was eh. Would not order again.
The staff was really really nice!
I want to come back and try the affogato. Will also hope for more flavors next time I think if you are looking for artisan ice cream salt and straw is a better place to go. But this place is still pretty good.

Loves, loves this place! Been here in two occasions, tried about 10 flavors in total between my friends and I, plus the samples and I love all their flavors!
Staff is super nice and friendly and hey don’t mind that you sample a couple of ice cream flavors (at least they don’t seem like it).
My favorites so far is the malted milk with mocha (faaaaavorite so far), coffee, mint chocolate chip, coconut, and honestly can’t remember the other ones but they’re so good! Their ice creams are really rich on taste and they are not artificial flavors (always a plus on my books). This place is a must if you’re in the Beverly/​Grove neighborhood!

For some reason I had high expectation on this, maybe because I looked up the reviews on Unilocal.
I tried the earl grey and cherimoya.
They are not bad, but there is nothing special about it.
The ice cream itself is 2 stars for me since I didn’t even finish it and the other 2 stars for the super friendly service.

Thanks to social media and their ways to entice peeps, like me, to get out and about town, I recently succumbed to their power of suggestion and checked out ice cream parlors in the LA area. The goal? The goal was not to find the best ice cream parlor, nor the worst, and to see what was out there, instead the goal was to have a frame of reference when peeps or fellow Unilocalers ask, suggest, or check into places.
Here we go, here we go again, with «armed with an appetite and not afraid to use it»!!!

The staff behind the display cases were, well… sweet. Although there is a two taste, maximum, I convinced them to break that «rule.»
ORDERED:
Another split scoop, mint vanilla chip and melon chiffon for cohort, Salted Caramel and Café Luxxe Coffee for me, I was so giddy with joy that, fellow Unilocaler, «The Destructor» made a cameo appearance at this stop, I forgot to make note of what he ordered. My bad.
IN A SCOOP:
Parking is definitely a challenge in this area, cohort and I drove around in squares, drove through alleyways, and finally found parking about a block away. No complaints of having to walk, even though, «Nobody Walks in LA,» we both enjoy walking and we needed to stretch our legs. Staff is definitely friendly, cohort, «The Destructor,» and I had a lot of fun with them.
Their outdoor seating is covered and snug, perfect for enjoying some tasty scoops alone or with friends.
Although creamy, their scoops were smaller, for the price, than previous parlor stops and not quite as flavorful. No need for me to fight the traffreak of the 405 to come back, but if I’m ever in the area, there is a small chance I may visit again, granted finding a spot to park my box isn’t as challenging.

Amazing! I seriously go out of my way to come here. And now they’ve got a valley location too. Love you guys! My latest adventure had me ordering the flight — four sorbets or ice creams for $ 10. Great for people who cannot choose! They also have coffees and an affogato I have to try.
But let’s go back to those sorbets/​ice creams… YUZU, Persimmon, Marigold and Brown Sugar Pecan were my four choices for the flight– and they did not disappoint. The Yuzu is a citrus fruit originating in East Asia. Japanese, Korean and Chinese cultures are most familiar with the aromatic hybrid of sour mandarins and Ichang papeda. SRC’s sorbet version was absolutely delightful with its tangy flavor.
Persimmon, another popular Asian fruit, is a difficult character to work with. They can easily become astringent in taste. SRC’s sorbet was perfectly sweet and had a pretty natural orange color.
Marigolds are of course, flowers. SRC’s ice cream is made from an edible variety and had a gorgeous nutty and citrusy flavor. The color was a light nutty beige with a touch of pistachio green. Super subtle and creamy.
Lastly, I went for the currently most popular flavor, the Brown Sugar Pecan ice cream– which tasted exactly like it sounds, but too sweet. I’m sure the kids love it.
SRC is one of my very favorite sorbet/​ice cream destinations. Parking seriously sucks at this location, and I’ve had to park a block or two away, but such is my dedication to greatness!

Earl Grey definitely! It is light and not too sweet.
Carrot Cake was interesting. Had lots of cake pieces in it, which made it that
much more authentic.
Mint N chip was refreshing because you can taste the actual mint. I think the
mint flavor was a little strong, but I do like the actual mint flavoring.

Not exactly sure where to begin. Came here with friends after having bookmarked this place months ago and glad I finally made it here.
First, you walk up to a lightly lit shop with seating outside and inside. As you walk in you are welcomed by the first staff that see’s you. Staff here was friendly and very very informative. They have so many options of ice cream and other goodies here that it can be a lot to take in,
Ice cream, unfortunately for now its all I have had and tried here. I had the Malted Milk with chocolate which was outstanding. I tried many other flavors and will have those eventually as well.
I like that they have toppings as well although not that I had any. The shop is well put together which is great because plenty of seating.
I will definitely be back to this place. I felt like I only got to experience 10% of what this shop has to offer. Affogato’s, shakes, and many other things.

Wow! Delicious is an understatement. We were able to try several flavors. They have banana splits, scoops, pints to go and even cakes that you can order. Also, they had dairy and non-​dairy options.
They had seasonal flavors and of course your usual flavors. Great little spot on these hot days!
They’re open from 11am to 11pm.

Cute creamy with out of the box flavours and in house made toppings.
Peter and I shared a flight of 4 scoops: Ginger Nigori, cinnamon wafer, apricot and passion fruit.
The lady was really really nice. Generous with samples.

Sweet Rose Creamery is still my favorite ice cream place! You can’t beat the quality and portion size of their sundaes for the price. Holy cow, it’s massive and if you are a dessert-​ovore like me it’ll definitely fill you up. This month they have flavors ranging from basil to honey ginger. No of their flavors lack in boldness, taste, and texture. If you love ice cream with crumbles within the batter itself, you definitley need to come here.
We ended up ordering one sundae with cookie dough and coffee and another one with carrot cake and caramel. The carrot cake is superb and hit the spot. All their toppings are house made too! I’m in love with their whipped cream and maybe have ordered a single scoop of carrot cake with whipped cream after hehe.
The employees were all very considerate and working as hard as they could as the line began to build. Scoops weren’t diminished and sampling wasn’t a problem. The employee who helped me added the whipped cream to my single scoop for free! She said it was on the house. Made me evening with my parents even sweeter!

Luckily found a convenient parking space one street down. Meter parking is reasonably priced.
Sweet Rose Creamery had a beautifully displayed flight rack. Our server had exceptional penmanship. The porcelain cups are kept cold. I tried their summer corn flavor, which tasted exactly like corn. My mind was flipping out at how gross that experience was. But I think I gave their business some great advice, because I mentioned tossing in some chili powder and lemon and you got yourself, LA’s famous street corn.
I chose cookies and cream, crème de noyeaux, horchata, and coffee. I like my ice cream creamy, so Sweet Rose is not as milky as I’d like. It had more of and icy consistency. For some reason, I just realized it’s called «ice» and «cream». I’m so stupid. It’s like 1.5 parts ice and 1 part cream is what I’m getting at. Coffee and cookies and crème were the best. Horchata could have been better as dairy. Lastly, although I sampled crème de noyeaux I ended up hating it half way through my flight.
