I got the «A Little Bit of Heaven» pound cake with lemon glaze for a birthday with a group of friends. We’ve celebrated lots of birthdays together in the past, and there’s usually a huge amount of leftover cake… but this one from Sweet Beginnings disappeared in seconds. It was not overly-​sweet, it was so spongy and moist, and the lemon glaze gave it just the right tang. I’m thrilled to have found an excellent bakery right in the neighborhood. We’ve also brought Sweet Beginnings pies home from the Wellington Square Farmer’s Market. I LOVE the sweet potato pie Tené makes. It reminds me of what I ate growing up but (sorry mama) I have to admit it’s even better. Super smooth filling and nice flaky crust. And I didn’t even get to try the peach pie because my family vacuumed it up so quick. They all said it great. Maybe I’ll get some next time before it’s gone!
