Sunset Padel

Hi. I live in Sacramento and I’m trying to get a hold of either the owner or anyone in charge of sunset padel. I believe they shut down the club and was wondering if I could purchase a court from you guys because I’m building a court at my house.

I miss this place a lot! I wasn’t the best Padel player, but everyone there made me feel like an extremely white Spaniard. I wish it would open back up. Maybe I will just sneak on and play tomorrow. Who’s going to stop me? Those guys flipping tires and swinging ropes next door? Yeah right!

Horrible Place! I was bringing my daughter here every week. She was progressively getting better then one day he tells me the landlord is giving him trouble. Mind you I have paid for service. The other kids started phasing out and my daughter was the only one continuing. She loved padel and he said that he would let us know when we would start again.
He never called or text and I asked for my money back and he never answered to any calls or text. I think this man is rude and clearly unprofessional.

Pretty sure these guys went out of business a couple of months ago, without warning and without reimbursing people their game cards.
I’m happy to be corrected if I’m wrong — as no one else on Unilocal has seemed to mention this.

Growing up playing a lot of racket/​paddle sports like tennis and ping pong, padel seemed like the next step to up my paddle game!
I was initially introduced to SP by a Unilocal Event, and finally went on my own the other day with an out-​of-​towner. He and I were both impressed by the well-​kept courts and the friendly staff. The guy who helped us out even gave us a free 15-​minute session!
The price for a court rental is $ 15 per hour per person and the paddle rental is $ 5 each. I suggest calling ahead to reserve a court as I can see this place filing up with padel fanatics!
We went on a Saturday and it was extremely quiet. Most of the action came earlier in the day for their Round Robin which is a little cheaper than the normal court rental price.

It’s a great place to play — IF you can afford it. The owners and employees really are awesome and the facilities are top notch.
I know they probably have to charge more to maintain the courts and facility, but after reading some other reviews that it’s a cheap place to play, I feel obligated to let people know that it’s not cheap. Prices are about $ 15/​hr PER PERSON.
If you play 2 hours a day twice a week and get their membership option, then you’re looking at $ 136 per month. Have a friend that you always play with, they’re also paying that same amount. Play doubles? 4 people all paying that same amount. I would compare to tennis court rental prices, which are per court either free or around $ 8 — $ 11 in the Los Angeles area. For tennis doubles each person would be paying $ 32 per month. Can’t call this place cheap.
It’s super fun though so save up your money and give it a shot.

Well, like it’s offspring, La Casita, which is located behind the VERY VERY VERY
well maintained and CLEAN Paddle Courts and the very attractive setting, I don’t know where I’ve been, because I walk along Sunset to the 99cent store all the time – and to the banks, etcetc-​and here today, I find this great oasis! The owners
are from Spain (!) and the one I talked to was cute and helpful. Some very
competent male was giving a lesson-​I wish I didn’t feel so old and decrepit
because what he was saying not only made sense, it obviously came from
someone who knew what he was doing and was good at it! This is a real
find-​a great addition to the neighborhood and please may it find a permanent
setting-​because it really adds to the Sunset/​Normandie area-​and it’s not
Little Thailand or Little Armenia Related. A NEW addition and just first rate!

Very fun and easy to pick up new sport. Great space with three courts, lounge area and snack shack/​café. I would highly recommend checking this place out. The staff is super friendly and helpful. My husband and I are looking into taking lessons.

In a word, lovely! You couldn’t ask for a better addition to the neighborhood. The staff are all friendly, and are very helpful for newbies like me to this sport. They currently have a visiting professional Padel player from Spain who is a fantastic teacher, and they have a Padel Academy lessons package which ends up being a great introduction to the sport. To organizing a game, you just call in and let them know what time you’re available, and Carlos, the front-​of-​the-​house guy, will do his best to organizing a game w/​similar-​level players. There is parking, and a little café too. And because the courts are smaller than a tennis court, the games end up being very social, which is a nice plus. Come try it ASAP!

Sunset Padel brings the rapidly growing sport of Padel to Los Angeles!
It’s a concept similar to Tennis but admittedly a lower learning curve. The balls are the same, the court is half the size, preferable if you play with doubles, and the paddles are pleasantly different but fun to use. I think the way the paddle felt when I hit the ball was what really made the game fun and easy to learn. You really have to play it to see what I mean.
The facilities are really clean, well kept, and the staff is friendly and knowledgeable. There is a positive attitude and feel to this place that really leaves you feeling like its something you want to return to more and more.
I’ll probably take people here to play a couple rounds as a great alternative to possibly shooting pool or playing basketball.

Amazing courts, atmosphere and staff. I’ve gone several times and am hooked. The game has similarities to tennis, raquetball, and paddle tennis. Any level of player will enjoy the sport, the grounds/​clubhouse, and friendliness of Patricia, Carlos, Jaime and the rest of the Sunset Padel team.

It’s tucked away in this small part of East Hollywood, but is really a one-​of-​a-​kind gem! This is basically a Padel ball club. Padel is a combination tennis, squash and racketball — but very unique in playing because you play off the walls.
What I love about Padel is that you get to play off the wall. It takes some getting used to, but the more you play– the more fun it is!
I do recommend that for first timers, that its all about getting the ball over the net. Don’t worry about striking with heavy force. A lot of the shots actually happen below waist, and the racquet used (due to the foam) diffuses the shot.
They have great social events on Wednesdays and I really prefer to play during the evening. The staff have really great and enthusiastic instructors in Patricia and Carlos. The scene is amazing with local artwork and playing above the street level.
I am still waiting on the onsite café– which will make the place a big plus
I recommend this as an alternative to gym memberships, and if you like tennis but want a sport where its fun and easy to get into– this is it! This place is young, but is starting to build great foundations in the neighborhood.

Great place to play padel tennis. Very friendly workers and amazing courts. They are opened until late too. I recommend to come here any time, specially on Sundays. Safe area. There is parking on the back of the court too. Definitely one of my favorite spots in L.A.

Hola. A few buddies of mine opened up this Padel court a few months ago. I’d never heard of Padel at the time. It’s a sport played in Spain. Its a cross between tennis and ping pong/​table tennis.
Sunset Padel has 3 courts you can play on. It’s a well maintained area with some modern architecture thrown in. The prices are great and they have a membership plan. They also have tournaments that you can sign up for.
Everyone who works there are very friendly and open with talking with you about Padel. If you enjoy tennis or table tennis you will definitely enjoy playing Padel.

Love these guys! Super welcoming for a Padel outsider (I had never even heard of it) and more than willing to walk us through proper form and court placement. I had a great time learning and trust me you’ll be hooked after you give it a try! It’s a little like outdoor squash mixed with tennis. Well worth the money, and Carlos and Jaime are great guys to be around and learn from!
Great date spot, fitness activity, stress relief, or even just to hang out!

Sunset Padel is a great addition to the East Hollywood neighborhood!
I’ve never really played any racquet sports, but am having a blast learning a new sport in such a cool space. This place is nothing but good vibes!
And Carlos is a fantastic trainer/​instructor! He’s also tries to pair you up with people at or around your level so you can play a game, and does his best to coordinate people’s wacky LA schedules.

Do you like racquetball or tennis? Then you should try the new European/​Mexican craze they call Padel – http://​en​.wikipedia​.org/​w​i​k​i​/​P​a​d​e​l​_​(​sport). It is a fairly interesting game that involves a grass court enclosed by glass walls, using a perforated, hard foam racket and a tennis ball. Following the rules of tennis, one can also hit or bounce the ball against the glass.
Currently the first hour is free, but after the first hour I was pretty hooked to play more. Carlos is a great teacher and Jaime the owner were very welcoming and accommodating to newbies. Will recommend to anyone who wants a fun game to play with friends.
