Studio Instrument Rentals

Jordan Robins and the rest of the crew at this location are A+++. They all go above and beyond to make sure you have everything you need, from rehearsal space to backline rentals. They are Flexible and accommodating. The stages there are amazing too! They come with a Midas Pro 2 console and a full monitor rig, the rooms a big and comfortable with good A/​C and WiFi. This is the only place we do rehearsals before any tour! Gated parking with security. Veggie grill and Chipotle are across the street, Chase and Bank of America in walking distance along with a Fedex office.

I traveled to LA last weekend to play a wedding, and rented an SWR California Blond, specifically because it could run guitar and vocals (the venue would not let us use the house sound). Got her all fired up, and the vox channel didn’t work. Luckily, the house sound guy was willing to break protocol and run my vocal through the mains, but didn’t have enough inputs for the guitar… I Didn’t have enough time to drive back into Hollywood on a Saturday night to exchange it, so I hobbled through the set.
When I returned the amp SIR did/​said nothing about it. No sorry, no refund, nothing. Fortunately, it was a friend’s wedding and not a paid gig. But just know that if you rent gear here, it may not work. And they may not do anything about it.

SIR was the equipment provider for all the music and sound at my sister’s wedding. Did an awesome job overall in a complicated setting, with three different areas for the holy matrimony, dinner, and after-​dinner performances respectively. All the personnel were extremely accommodating of any requests we made for the sound and music, never said no, never said anything was too difficult. Truly appreciate the team’s work in making my sister’s wedding run so smoothly. Particular thanks to JK for helping rig me up for the surprise song performance in the dining area, including hooking me up with an acoustic guitar and a wireless receiver for the guitar.

I love SIR! We’ve rehearsed here many times over the past few years and it’s always been great! Great studios with wonderful equipment and amazing staff. They’re so nice and helpful! They have their own private parking in the back which is gated. I’ve rented a piano from them for a video shoot and that went really well too. SIR is definitely my favorite place to rehearse. The vibe alone is very cool and laid back, you really feel like you’re in an artists creative den. I just had a great late night rehearsal 7−11pm and I can’t wait for our next session!

If you ever need to rent gear from this place, talk to anyone else BUT Ron Pak. He’s a true dick and extremely unhelpful.

If you want to rent equipment in LA, don;t think of anyplace else. These guys are reliable, will work with you, and friendly and efficient. LA is a professional music and entertainment city, and these guys fit right into that landscape.

Rented some speakers and a board and the equipment worked great.

I used SIR to rent some back line instruments for an event that I coordinated. They were great to work with. I emailed them a list of everything I needed and they quickly responded with a quote.
I loved that I could pay online by credit card, which was an easy process.
In the end there were quite a few things that we ended up not needing and SIR refunded us for the unused equipment. Excellent customer service.

Great spot! I’ve picked up gear there many times and I was also there for Bass Player Live as an exhibitor. Their people are top notch. Some could use an attitude adjustment, but then again this isn’t the Midwest… it’s Hollywood baby. Attitude comes with the package when you are just that good! Honestly, my dealings have always been prompt and professionally handled, so keep up the great work SIR!!!

SIR has the most amazing professional instruments and gear ever. They cater to professional musicians. It sounds like some Unilocalers are upset at the lack of babying they can get there but they cater to pros and people who know what they need for their gig.
I like the staff there, they are all really cool people. If someone called me to tell me they needed something, but weren’t really sure what and wanted me to hold their hand through it, I would probably be annoyed too. Just sayin’. It’s not a babysitting service. They aren’t trying to sell you either so of course they aren’t going to be up your butt like a retail sales person. If you want that kind of service go to Saks Fifth Avenue. Please.
Cool stuff: One time I ran into The Game there and I missed Ludacris by 5 minutes. Leonard Cohen was rehearsing there too. Um, can you say professional music industry?
Parking sucks but it pretty much sucks everywhere in Hollywood. Be sure you have quarters for meters.

I just have to say that I endured one of the most awful customer service experiences of my life at this place. My acoustic electric guitar began malfunctioning right before a paying gig and I needed a rental pronto. I found this rental store thinking it would save my gig, but after being there for only five minutes I was not willing to give this place another second of my time or money.
When I first walked in the place the manager was on the phone and looked at me as if I was nothing more than a nuisance, even though I was waiting patiently. When he finally got off the phone he rudely said «Yes?» without even looking at me. I told him I needed to rent a guitar for the weekend and he replied by saying «uh…yeah you can go around the corner and take a look.» When I appeared confused on where to go he raised his voice at me. He told me that the cheapest guitar they rented was $ 50 a day and didn’t even ask me if I was interested, he walked away and began helping another customer and ignored me for several more minutes until I finally walked out of the store quite aggravated.
I left not knowing where else I could go, until I found a place called Synthesizer Rental Service in Los Feliz which accommodated me right away utilizing excellent customer service. I highly recommend you check out that company, and advise you all to steer clear of Studio Instrument Rentals!

I’ve been planning a cd release party for some time now and we just decided we didn’t want to deal with the PA ourselves, and was needed to look into rentals.
I called SIR on a recommendation from a guy I respect and trust. I was trying to get info about renting either just single pieces of equiptment or a full PA and the guy was a total dick to me on the phone because I didn’t know what gear we specifically needed.
I mean, sure, I could have called with more information ready on my end, but give me a break. There was a serious lack of customer service on his end. He acted like he could have cared less if I had even called to spend money at his business. My order could have been a huge one, but now I’ll never call SIR for anything.
I don’t care what kind of amazing equipment they may have– it’s not the size that matters, it’s how you use it!
After that call ended I couldn’t help but feel a little overwhelmed with the task of trying to find a rental; I mean, are all gear guys such pricks? Well, it turns out they’re not all pricks! With some very kind, helpful and knowledgeable people I found off Craigslist the very next morning, my frown turned upside down, and now we are fully loaded and ready for our show.

AWESOME!!! This place is legendary! Very spacious rehearsal facilities, plenty of parking, great great gear and killer staff.
The rooms sound fantastic and if you want to do a small jam or a full-​blown rehearsal for a tour S.I.R. is the place to go in Hollywood.
