I love coming to the Chiro after finding this place. Dr. Gillis is a pro who knows exactly what to do to solve all my back problems and has been helping to restore my range of motion after I was injured in a car crash. He and Jeanette are the best kind of people. Caring and attentive. So seldom do you find a medical practice where they actually give a crap about you and your health. Coming in is such a delight and is always the highlight of my day.

Dr Gillis adjusts my kids’ ears when they have ear infections and it’s a faster better cure than antibiotics have ever been for them. He’s very nice and gentle and they enjoy their visits. Street parking is easy to find and the office staff is really lovely.

Fantastic practitioner. Cares about his patients. Takes same day appointments. Professional, on time. Great office and positive experience all around. Highly recommended. I’ve seen and gone to plenty of chiropractors in Los Angeles and De Gillis is simply the best. No painful adjustments and no force used in spinal manipulation. I notice immediate improvement of symptoms when I have an appointment.

Great Chiro care! Dr Gillis is attentive, intelligent and makes a trip to the chiro very pleasant. I’ve lived in several large cities and had some pretty good chiropractic care over the years but Dr Gillis is my undisputed favorite. I’ve recently moved to Chicago and am hopeful that I find find someone nearly as good. Dr Gillis utilizes modern equipment and modern techniques which was very important to me.

I was in a lot of pain from a recent injury and was looking for a chiropractor close by. I found Dr. Gillis and he is wonderful! He’s caring, gentle, understanding and very knowledgeable. Jeannette who works the front desk is great; very friendly and professional. After my first visit, I knew I was in excellent hands and noticed immediate results. He takes the time to listen to you and explains the cause of the problem. After a few treatments, my pain level of 9 is now down to 0. It only took a few sessions, but I’m pain free. I continue to see him for regular maintenance adjustments. I highly recommend Dr. Gillis to anyone who is in need of a chiropractor.

We just moved to the area and found Dr. Gillis by reading reveiws on Unilocal.He is a wonderful chiropractor. We are so thrilled to have found him. He is very knowledgeable, experienced, kind, caring and spends time making sure he gives the best adjustment possible. I have been to a number of chiropractors over the years and he is one of the best.

I love Dr. Gillis’s office. when I first moved here a couple years ago I went to three different chiropractors & none of them worked well on me until I found Dr. Gillis. He takes good care of his patients and every time I leave his office I feel like a new person again. If you’re looking for a chiropractor I highly recommend Dr. Gillis.

My husband and I have been seeing Dr. Gillis for a few years now. He’s a wonderful chiropractor with tons of knowledge about all sorts of therapies. I was a gymnast and often have issues come up. He can always fit me in and fix me in one or two visits. My husband is an avid martial artist and has the same experiences with Dr. Gillis. I’ve been to many chiropractors over the years that try to sell you packages and keep you coming back for no reason. Dr. Gillis certainly encourages regular alignment but never would he insist that if you don’t see him 10 times you will still be in pain… that’s been my experience with other bad chiropractors. He’s fees are very fair and reasonable and his motivation is to make you feel better, not nickel and dime you because he uses and ultrasound machine on you. My family is very grateful to have Dr. Gillis in our lives.

I had never visited a chiropractor before seeing Dr. Gillis this week. I walked into his office with clouded expectations and a painful backache.
But my reservations were quickly put to rest. Not only did Dr. Gillis make me feel right at home, but he gave me a helpful crash course on the mechanics of the human spine. His office is full of visual demonstrations that help his patients maintain a healthy posture and understand the pain they might be feeling.
Oh, another thing worth mentioning: he fixed my back! After a soothing massage and a few minor adjustments, my pain disappeared almost instantly. I know who to trust next time I need to see a chiropractor!

I’m so glad to have found Dr. Steven Gillis, my new chiropractor. The first thing that made an impression on me was the efficiency and professionalism of his administrative staff, Jeannette. Jeannette is always able to accomodate an appointment when you need one and her reminder phone calls about upcoming appointments is very helpful.
Dr. Gillis is an excellent practitioner with a gentle approach and a genuine interest in educating the patient about what is going on and what he is doing to make improvements. I always feel that I am in very good hands, that my time is valued, and that my health is placed first above all.

I was having sciatica pain for about 2 weeks, even got to the point that I was using a crutch because when the sharp pain shot down my leg, it would buckle under me. I went thinking I would receive some sort of evaluation and subsequent adjustment. But instead he hooked some electrodes to my back, turned on a machine then left the room for 15 minutes. When he came back, he used something that felt like my Brookstone back massager for a few more minutes. Finally he slapped on something that was basically an «Icy/​Hot» patch. His recommendations were to wear a back brace (which he «provided» — my bill was $ 139!?), take Aleve and ice the area for 20 minutes at a time. I swear he spent more time looking at the tattoo on my ass than he did treating me. Will not return.

Dr. GIllis is very knowledgeable, gentle, and a truely remarkable chiropractor.
I’ve gotten migraine headaches for years and the only thing that tames them is an adjustment every couple of weeks. I used Unilocal and word of mouth to find a good chiropractor and popped in to visit Dr. Gillis. Not only is he a kind man, he is very gentle, but affective, while he is making adjustments. The adjustments I need are to my neck and it has been painful with past chiropractors. He clearly has skills in massage therapy that he combines with chiropractic work and what he does is MAGIC. He also finds a way to fit me into his schedule (same day) if I’m in desperate need.
As a side note, he does a lot of research in alternative treatments (than just popping a prescribed pill). Aside from my neck issues, I also had nerve damage. Dr. Gillis informed me of some recent research and articles I could look over involving low level laser therapy. I started doing treatments and my nerves heeled at record speed!
When your body is in pain, it is trying to tell you something is wrong. I firmly believe in finding the source of the issues and fixing that as opposed to taking pills to mask the pain. Dr. Gillis seems to be in line with that reasoning and it is very refreshing.
A+ for the work he’s done for me.

Please excuse my super cliché comment that is about to follow, but it’s true:
This was actually my first time at a chiropractor ever, so I really wasn’t sure what to expect.
OK, cliché over, I really had NO idea what was going to happen. All I knew was that I couldn’t move my neck (like Frankenstein’s monster) and I needed to get it fixed quick! Lucky for me, Dr. Gillis was able to get me in the same day I called.
Jeanette the receptionist was/​is amazing – so kind and helpful.
Dr. Gillis waltzed in, chatted with me about what to expect and what I was feeling, then went to work! After a few cracks and pops and the use of a few interesting tools, I was out feeling mildly better. After about an hour I was feeling a LOT better.
The whole time we chatted about cycling (he’s an avid cyclist), therapy in general, and a few other random things that just made the experience that much better. Table manner=A+.
A day or so later, he called and left a message checking in, which was extremely impressive.
The only negative thing I can say is that this whole back/​neck-​cracking thing is addictive because you feel great afterwards! I seriously want to go in every week just so he can give me a good workover.
Anyway, if you are in pain, just need a good adjustment, or need ANOTHER addiction, visit Dr. Gillis and he’ll take care of you.

I went to see Dr. Gillis today who is quite the gentle Chiropractor and sole. I’ve seen him several times over the years and have always been pleased (and fixed).
Today after the typical massage while waiting for my appointment I was very happy to see his new AUTOMATIC FLEXION TABLE. The old table was nice but after being on this table I can’t say I could go back. The entire table adjusts so many ways both for me to be comfortable as well as for him to see what needs to be fixed. To give you an idea, after I laid down on the table the above waist and below waist areas are supported by two different sections of the table and the bottom half was moving my legs up and down then around in circles and as this was happening gently and easily he could see what my back was doing and where the spasms were and make the necessary adjustments.
Truly if the table wasn’t there I’d still go back because I’m always «fixed» when i leave. They don’t try to schedule you for further appointments when you don’t really need them. Most times I’ve seen him it’s been one or two visits and I’m up and running again.

Dr. Gillis is the first chiropractor, of many over a 15 year period, that I felt entirely comfortable with. His method of treatment is gentle, which I like, and firm, to have the effectiveness I’m looking for. I had lingering back issues when I first starting seeing him, not to mention a significant alignment problem. It took only a few sessions for me to really start to fee the beneficial effects of Dr. Gillis’ treatments. He is very informative, and helps me understand my treatments, symptoms, and mechanics of my back. He encourages me to do certain exercises at home and while traveling, and created an online program of exercises I can login to review.
Unlike many experiences I’ve had with chiropractors, I never felt pressured to buy additional products like sole inserts, back support for car, bed, couch, ceiling, floor, sky, etc. etc. etc. I have in fact researched sole inserts (foot levelers) in the past and was not impressed with the presentation, and the feeling I got was they were more to enhance income for my chiropractor as a supplement rather than to help my condition. Dr. Gillis was the complete opposite. I in fact inquired about arch support, and his approach was one from an educational stand point, rather than from a «you mus have this or else this awful thing will happen to you» pitch, which I’ve heard time and time again. I gave up seeing chiropractors for several years, before deciding to open my mind again and look around.
I also find Dr. Gillis to be more «intuitive» in his treatment methods, rather than text book. Like any healing art, it is an «art», and I find practitioners that operate, at the core level, from a state of intuition rather than from pure «text book», offer far more effective results.

I found Dr. Gillis through the Internet and chose him because I saw he had many years in his practice and many degrees. I am very pleased with his care.
Unlike some chiropractors who do the snap, crackle, pop and out the door you go… Dr. Gillis actually takes time with you «„each“»” session.
I was right about his dedication to his practice, he deployed various modalities over several sessions and here I am five months later and I am REALLY feeling great. The automobile accident really torqued my neck, but now I have no more headaches and my neck is limber.
His staff is professional; and, for as talented as he is, he is a very humble.
** I would highly recommend his practice to anyone wanting the very best in chiropractic treatment.

It is the 3^rd time I threw my neck out, but this is the first time that I visited Dr. Gillis. All the other times I’ve gone to the chiropractor I’ve always been in more pain before it got better. This man (Dr. Gillis) is a miracle worker!!! They got me in the same day i called. He worked on me this morning & I already feel better! He is thorough, very nice, passionate about what he does & even called me to follow up & see how I was doing. I’m very happy to have found him. My husband is going tomorrow. Honestly, try him before you go anywhere else… You’ll be glad you did!

Great Chiro. Found a good time in accommodation of my schedule and was easy to park. I just read about the roller bed on a prior comment and they’re right, I’d like to have one of those in my house. Dr. Gillis was very kind and had soothing, calming energy. He was confident but in a very delicate way; and since my back was in terrible pain I’m glad for his soft touch. His confidence and demeanor helped me relax which I’m sure helped him help me back (pun intended).
Overall, it was a good experience for one I’d rather not have needed. I’ll go back (no pun intended). Wish I found him sooner, but glad I know of him now. Good job! I would recommend him.

I was looking for a Chiropractor and Dr Gillis was one of the only 5-​star on Unilocal I found so I decided to make an appointment for a visit. When I scheduled the appointment, they asked me for my insurance info and I have United Healthcare and turns out my insurance covers my treatment so I only have to make a small copay. Parking is easy — plenty of metered parking on the street ($ 1 for an hour).
I’ve been training for a half-​marathon and I’ve been having a pain on my knee after my runs and when I’m walking up and down the stairs. Dr Gillis was able to tell me the problem right away and showed me how that affects my whole body. He performed the Graston treatment which helped break down the scar tissue. This technique is often used on professional athletes and Dr Gillis is trained to perform this type of therapy. During the treatment, I asked him a couple other questions related to my current health and body condition so he did a more thorough checkup for me. He did an alignment for me and explained every step of the procedure. After a 45-​minute treatment, I feel a lot more refreshed and I was able to focus at work because my shoulder pain was gone.
This is my first time ever seeing a Chiropractor and I was impressed the moment the treatment was done. I would recommend Dr. Gillis for anyone suffering back and shoulder pain and those who are suffering from sports injuries. He is friendly, easy going, and I would recommend telling him about your daily routine, work environment, and habits — because that’s how he found out what was wrong with my body!

Dr Gillis is amazing! The first time I have ever been to a chiropractor and he took really good care of me. My back feels amazing and although it took a few visits it really really works. GO TO HIM!
