Stephanie Reese is an organic mobile spray tanning artist serving the greater Los Angeles area. With over 6 years of experience, Stephanie is one of the pioneers of the spray tanning industry, and has been featured in InStyle magazine as a «spray tan expert» and is the official spray tan artist for the Clipper Girls. Stephanie’s mother is a skin cancer survivor, and because of this Stephanie entered the spray tanning industry with the belief that a healthy tanning alternative should be affordable and accessible to everyone. Her motto has always been to provide a red carpet-​worthy tan without the celebrity prices.

History

Established in 2007.

I actually got my start as a spray tan artist because of user review sites like yelp. I was getting my first professional spray tan for a special event, and after reading many online reviews, I decided to try Tan Naturelle which was then at Kevin Josephson Salon in Beverly Hills. After receiving a stunning tan, I was hooked. Luckily, they were hiring and willing to train me. I absolutely fell in love with being a spray tan artist, and the ability to convert my clients from the unhealthy rays of the sun and tanning beds. The one thing I didn’t like was the sky-​high Beverly Hills prices. So after a year at Tan Naturelle, I decided to become a freelance mobile spray tan artist with a mission to make spray tanning available to the masses. Four years later I am proud to say that I am continuing my crusade to bring my expert technique, the finest organic solution, and convenient round-​the-​clock spray tans to all of the fair-​skinned and health conscious Angelenos.

At a very young age Stephanie learned the importance of taking care of her skin and protecting it from the sun. Her mother was diagnosed with skin cancer when she was just 9 years old. Fortunately, the melanoma was caught early and her mother has never had a recurrence since. «Knowing it was unsafe to tan the conventional way, I thought I was doomed to a life of pale skin.» Like so many of us she was thrilled when sunless tanning products hit the market, but disappointed with the results. «I saw celebrities pale one day, and then flawlessly tan on the red carpet the next, so I knew someone out there had figured this whole spray tanning thing out.» After hours of research on user-​review sites such as yelp, it seemed that Tan Naturelle was the celebrity spray tan mecca at the time. Fortunately they were hiring, and after extensive training and a year working with them, I decided to branch out and start my own mobile spray tanning company. So, SprayTans by Steph was born.
