Booked a couples massage here after reading the glowing reviews for this place, and it seriously left my wondering if the reviews are real.
Gotta say, the owners are smart to name this place something fancy, but I wish the facilities lived up to the name. The place was in a run down looking building, and the rooms did not look nearly as nice in person as in the pictures. The place is right on the corner of two busy streets, and they didn’t play any music during the massage, which would’ve seriously helped drown out the not-​so-​relaxing traffic noises I heard throughout the entire massage.
Well, I actually preferred the traffic noise to my boyfriend’s noisy masseuse (seriously, how many times do you have to come in and out of the massage room and could she have walked any louder?) or when they left the door open to our massage room TWICE. Privacy please? Oh, and leaving the door open doesn’t help with noise either… could hear someone in another room getting his massage. Awkward! And when our masseuses talked to one another in a different language at frequent intervals during our massage? Yeah… not so relaxing, professional, or nice. I kept worrying they were talking about us (and I swear at one or two points they were talking about my boyfriend).
My massage was pretty decent, but my boyfriend’s massage was pretty bad. He said his masseuse seemed like a total novice and was trying to massage his bones instead of his muscles. I certainly wasn’t that fond of her from her super loud walking/​stomping/​shuffling and her going in and out of the room multiple times in the middle of our massage.
Next time, I won’t let a fancy name, cheap prices, pretty pictures, and 4.5 starts from 16 Unilocal reviews fool me into trying an unprofessional, strange spa experience.

I came in with a massive migraine! This place appears a bit dreary on the outside but I was desperate for some pain relief. I called ahead of time and they took me in at 9pm. what’s nice is that I pulled up in my vehicle and park 20 feet away from the door and the female owner showed me straight to my room. Place was nice and clean. Tony was great! I asked him to focus my head, shoulders, and neck. Most therapist don’t like it when I ask them to get back to my spots but he didn’t mind and was able to get rid of my knots and migraine. I went home and crawled in bed and finally slept 10 hours straight!

This place is awesome! So clean and cozy. The girl whose name is MJ at the front desk is really helpful and sweet! I have been going through a bad headache lately but It’s all gone now since I got massages here. Jasmine is a great masseuse and gave me the best massage ever. I will definitely be coming back to this place!

All the therapists have magic hands! The place is always clean and the service is top notch.

My boyfriend and I decided to visit Spa Essence on Valentines Day for some much needed R&R; we paid $ 180 for two 90 min massages. The massage itself was very good. My compliant is the construction that was happening at the time of the massage… there was very loud banging, shouting and sounds of a drill throughout the entire massage making it impossible to relax. Definitely not what we were expecting! The staff made no attempt to warn us of the construction and acted like it wasn’t even going on. We paid beforehand, unfortunately, which should have been a warning as I’ve never paid beforehand for a massage. When we walked out we informed the 2 ladies at the front, they apologized and said it will be better next time… um that’s nice, but what about making it right this time??? As in offering us some sort of compensation… We paid $ 180 for 90 minutes of misery!

Massage was ok not GREAT, staff is friendly but as I was leaving the front desk girl followed me outside and asked for a tip … Completely unprofessional, tips are an act of gratitude not MANDATORY, and also EARNED. I will never go back to this establishment…

I decided to take a chance on this place because of the ratings and I’m so glad I did. It is a hidden gem in Koreatown. $ 60 for a massage– and a very good one at that. Also try the acupuncturist there. I loved my experience so much that I got acupuncture after my massage because of all of the pain I was having and I was blown away by Dr. Jin Siu Lin who makes her own herbal teas in addition to very thorough acupuncture session. I am now a devoted customer.

I finally went to Spa Essencia to get a massage and its one of the best decisions i’ve made in 2014 so far. My massage therapist had some insight about what muscle might be involved in the discomfort, and recommended twi stretches that i could do on my own to help loosen the knots in those muscles. Absolutely, fantastic — high recommended to anyone looking for a therapeutic massage!

I do weight training at the gym 5 times a week so I get pain on my shoulder and back time to time. After my massage sessions here, all my soreness and pain goes away. This shows me that these professional masseusts know what theyre doing!

Ive pass by This place everyday to go home from work. I decided to visit after my upper body was uncomfortable and sore.
First, I was welcomed by the front desk staff. She was extremely helpful and generous.
Second, this place is very organized, neat, and has a unique set up. Each room has a different environment and my masseuse knew what she was doing.
Third, when I was all done. I was lucky enough to meet a celebrity on my first day and got his autograph:)
Overall, I give this place a 5 star and would recommend to anyone.

This place is a little hole the wall gem in Koreatown. I’ve gotten a few massages here, the deep tissue massage and it was pretty good… The massage therapists know what they’re doing and you can tell they’re experienced. The place is cozy and clean and seems recently remodeled/​refurbished so it looks and feels new and clean. I, too, heard that they have some regular celebrity clientele. I’m not surprised they would come here, a little quiet place to get away and relax. Overall my experience was great, everyone, the staff and therapists were really friendly and sweet, too. :)

This place looks somehow very cozy and clean. also noticed that the masseurs were very kind and more skillful than anybody else. I’m pretty sure that this place will be the best place to get a massage therapy. I’ve heard that some of celebrities often visit here. Everything seems to be very professional!

I am a regular at this place. I look forward to getting my treatment at the end of the long week. This place is super clean, professional and addicting! I usually get the acupuncture. Last week, I had one hour of acupuncture and one hour of oil last time and it was very good too. I have tried different masseuse and masseur, and they are ALL skilled and they know what they are doing!
The front desk staffs are always friendly and kind. I have had occasions where I had to reschedule the appointment, and they were very professional about it. Finding the parking lot can be a bit tricky, but once you find the entrance to the lot, you will find a spot to park right away, and plus there are plenty of street parking around the location.

Ok, so this Is clean place, oh my goodness, my masseuse was amazing ! hands down, the best massage I have ever had. I had to peel myself off the table.
My boyfriend and I both had deep tissue massages this afternoon and agreed it was incredible. this was the first time anyone had ever worked on my knots like they needed to be.
the guy at the front desk was precious. So happy to be there, smiling and very helpful, which is refreshing in a city of cynicism.
