South Central Los Angeles Regional Center

The reason i gave the regional center a four star is because it took a while to hear back from any one. I had to leave a message for the supervisor. She was really good about calling me back. After that every thing went really well the worker that did the test for my daughter was very helpful and extremely patient with my daughter who decided to go running through out the building im 8 months pregnant so it took me a while to catch her. Thank you Angela

I’ve been calling since January 4 to get my son evaluated and I keep leaving messages to different people and do far no answer or call back. The operator said theyre low on staff that to me is not a reason for being unprofessional.

don’t come here if you don’t want to be belittled by their employees. The lady seeing whether my son needed services found it impertinent that she blames me for taking so long to get him diagnosed. Not to mention she was totally rude to my son as well! Unprofessional and uncaring. This place is crap.

If I had the option to not add a star I wouldn’t. WORST REGIONAL CENTER! I don’t understand how they are still around. We transferred from Sacramento which was literally done from 2 – 3 days. I was in Los angeles for 8 months and not once met my child’s case worker. And then when I called her to ask to transfer to San Diego I never her from her again I continuously called her and left multiple messages, this was in OCTOBER BTW, it is now January and only after numorous calls and messages to as many people as I could was I finally told that his paper work was being transferred. I’ll know by the end of this week if this is true or not. As a parent you want the best for your child, I left Los angrles to not have to deal with that regional center and their lack of services.

I am giving them a two rather than a one because the orientation class was helpful and the people in the resource center (in the back with the books) along with the psychiatrist we met with were really helpful. This place is so difficult to work with. It is like pulling teeth to get help. It took over two months (after we were approved for services) to receive just one service. Our worker was either way overwhelmed with their large caseload or just didn’t care. They also do not email, so there is no paper trail. I called and emailed a supervisor to see if she could assist and she had such a bad attitude and was completely rude. Most people coming here are coming in with a humble heart needing help for their children or themselves and shouldn’t be met with such a bad experience.

This place is a joke .it takes forever for a caseworker to reach you back. They know there way around NOT giving children what they really need .this place needs to be

My son has been in there programs and I say what a good job they done. My son will now be going to a center base center. I am truly thankful for this.

Totally Pointless. Poor Management. This country needs to do away with this whole system — it’s a waste of time and money. If the Governor wants to fix the budget, all he has to do is eliminate this… but he won’t because it’s Shrivers «pet».
