Wow, is all I can say. I just moved to Culver City recently, and have been looking for a close dental office. After reading your Unilocal reviews I can’t believe they even let you still conduct your buisness. All your reviews are horrible, why would all those people lie if it wasn’t true. Your responses to them are even worse, offensive, and very rude. I definitely will not be a customer, and would strongly suggest anyone who is considering this place to read all the reviews first.

I initially started going here because I was seeing Dr. Sheilly — then he retired and things went RAPIDLY downhill. Let me start this off by saying that I have been a patient here for YEARS. I’ve recommended this office to numerous friend. NO MORE.
I went in for a mouth guard. The «experienced» hygienist put in a metal tray SEVERAL times too large for my mouth. I was cut to the bone on my inner jaw. I bled. A lot.
2 days later, I am badly swollen, unable to talk properly, unable to work, unable to swallow. When I called the office, the dentist I spoke with tried to tell me they didnt’ cause it. WHAT!!! After I told them I was going to the ER and then an attorney, they called in a prescription for anti biotics and painkillers. It took over 1 month for the EXPOSED BONE in my mouth to heal over. Did they ever call and see how I was healing? NOPE. Turns out there was also a hairline crack in my jaw from this. SWEET.
Oh, and they charged me $ 1000 for the procedure and then didn’t even make the lower mouth guard they damaged me so badly making mold for. No apologies. No offers to not charge me for the office visit, only for the lab. Nothing.
Then, this morning, I found they’ve double charged my credit card. I found this out because I got a collection call.. . on an amount I’ve paid. I had a friend with me who was also getting dental care. When she was told she would need much work and applied for Care Credit (and was turned down), they strong-​armed me to co-​sign for her — IN FRONT OF HER. WTF?
I WOULD AVOID THIS OFFICE. It used to be good, but since they moved onto Washington Blvd. in Culver City, their quality has really taken a hit. Money motivated, poor care. Too bad, they won’t get anymore recommendations from me.
I find it interesting how there are no apologies in the «owner responses» from them — just justifications and excuses.

Please listen to the other bad reviews! They are NOT lying. Unfortunately everything they have written bad is true. I had the misfortune of having to take my child here only because her father chose and was paying insurance for this place. They were a headache from day one. And though we had insurance, they were always wanting me to pay out of pocket for something, including co-​payment (which didn’t exist). They are scammers of the worst kind. Stay away from this place. Unfortunately for them, karma is real people. At some point soon the law will catch up with them.

These people are the worst, rudest, non professional you can ever imagine. I got this coupon from a guy who came to our office to advertise for the place. It was suppose to be a checkup and a cleaning. Result: they did X-​rays (it took them 30min at least). The dentist walks in and tells me I grind my teeth when I sleep; therefore I need a $ 500 plastic thing… oh, and of course the cleaning was no included in the package. I must have misunderstood.
Anyway, I walked away and then 6 months later they dare sending me an email: «please rate us on Unilocal».
Here we go!

I went there because I got some kind of coupon from someone who came to my work office to offer a deal for teeth cleaning which at the time I needed to get done. I went there about three times, and I did wait an average of 30 – 45 minutes per visit. I moved to the valley and changed dentists. I asked for a copy of my dental x-​rays which by the way was a pain in the butt to get. It took several calls since I didn’t get any results I walked in and asked for my x-​rays. Only to find out that what they call a copy of the x-​rays is literally a paper photocopy of the x-​rays not even photo paper but copy paper and they charged $ 25.00 for it. I was dumbfounded to make matters worse my current dentist could not read them, so I had to get more x-​rays done. Really bad experience.

Purchased a package called «New Line Smile» to have my teeth whitened at Smiles R Us Dental Care. I arrived on time and filled out five page paperwork only to be told that they cannot see me today because their computer is not working. And they wanted to keep my voucher so that they can get paid without providing services.
While waiting, I READ THEIR REVIEWS ON Unilocal! So, I mentioned Unilocal reviews to them and they let me keep my voucher.

They are the rudest, slowest, unfriendliest place I have ever been. Not only do they make you wait for over an hour and then tell you «we are closing now so we will have to reschedule you» but when you’re tired of taking it, 3 visits in a row and change dentists… you ask for a copy of xrays and they hand you a sheet of paper with your xrays on it for $ 25. The new dentist cannot read a digital copy of xrays on plain paper! We went back to get our money back or get them printed on photo paper and they refused until the police were almost involved. In the end to avoid any issues with the law, they decided to give us the refund. I though Culver Del Rey Dental was bad, but these guys are worse.
We are now with Bright Now! in Venice and sooo happy there. They are super nice and working with us in every way possible to make sure we get what we need at a price that is in our budget. Finally, someone who cares about their patients, not making a ton of extra money.

SCAM, Beware!!! I bought a package special to get a cleaning xrays and checkup. The receptionist was happy to accept my coupon when we arrived but the dentist ended up refusing to to the cleaning the same day. So we scheduled another day and when we came back, checked in got the cleaning and checked out… Surprise! They wanted 100 $ for the cleaning. They said they wouldn’t honor the coupon because the cleaning happened on a different day. I scheduled everything originally on the same day, but they refused to do it.
After the initial exam we knew a few teeth needed to be pulled. The Dentists recommendation was $ 9,000 worth of work. Who has that money and we wouldn’t be in there using a coupon if we did.
Scammers who pray on people who need low cost dental care and cant afford it.

If I could give a minus rating I would.
The place is dirty, disgusting, filthy, scummy and gross.
I came in for their bargain zoom cleaning for $ 199 and couldn’t wait to get the heck out. Hopefully I won’t come down with some disease from the unsanitary conditions. My dentist wanted $ 550 so I shopped around.
I was emphatic about the fact that I only was there for the zoom and I didn’t want xrays or anything else. These dental offices are a business besides being a dental practice and they always cram extra surprises down your throat. I know for a fact they fill ‘cavities’ unnecessarily as well. I used to be in the biz so this is insider info. Doctors, dentists,
etc-​they have a big overhead and if they don’t get money from you how will they pay their rent, make mortgage and Mercedes payments, send kids to college and go to Hawaii?
There were actually a few patients in there during the time I was zooming. I don’t understand how people can go to such a dirty and unprofessional place. I assume because it’s cheap but c’mon guys, cheap and sanitary can happen at the same time.

Ill say it straight up:
They told me free consultation
Later I find a bill f or an «evaluation»
I had pain in my teeth, instead of doing a full X-​ray, they took two pictures
Dentist found the cavity and filled it
One week later I am charged 30DOLLARS PER XRAY PICTURE
And 200 to fill in the cavity.
They did a full XRAY the next week, including the two they took– but still charged me 112 for the full XRAY without giving me back my 60 dollars for the two pics
When I asked– dentist said they were on two different days. I didn’t plan for that! I could have done them in one, They just did that!
I paid 25 dollars to get my xrays emailed to me– lady never emailed them and hung up on me when I called to get them emailed!
Gave the number to my new dentist, and they emailed an hour later, but they only emailed one picture! Instead of the fifteen. All of these things and I only got 1 filling dome– costing me 550 dollars. People got rude, yelled at me, and hung up on me

STAY AWAY FROM THIS PLACE if you care about your teeth and wallet.
The operation there is a joke. The receptionist/​finance person is all about making you commit to the dollars. The dentist sees multiple patients at the same time, making you wait for her in between fillings/​novacane/​etc. There’s no handwashing between patients, only changing gloves. The dental work was rough — no consideration that the subject in her chair was a human, her patient! Shoddy work, my crown fell off after 5 months — I went to another dental office to have it repaired.

This place was dirty and the dentist was so extremely unfriendly I don’t even know how to describe it. The entire appointment took over 1 hour and 30 minutes of ridiculousness. The room where they took you to get x-​rays did not have a door and they have a 1 size fits all piece wand to put in your mouth to take x-​rays. I guess most people make sure their gag reflex is gone… my fiancé and I both have ours! After that the x-​ray tech put me in a chair. No one saw me for 25 minutes and when the doctor did she looked briefly at my x rays opened my mouth and said I had 8 cavities. Then walked away. No introduction since I’m a new client nothing just straight in and out. She then left my fiancé sitting on her chair for an additional 25 minutes (I was still sitting in my chair waiting for who knows to come do who knows what to me). I finally got up and walked over to talk to my Fiancé and the receptionist told the doctor we were together and she still needed to see her. The doctor got up with a total attitude like we were putting her out because she had to make money. As she walked back into the room I introduced myself and said, «oh and I never caught your name. I figure since you stuck your hands in my mouth I should know your name.» She didn’t respond with anything but Dr. (and if I could have actually heard her I would have remembered) and walked over and looked at blurry x-​rays which the tech told my fiancé were not readable, barely looked into her mouth and said she had 6 cavities.
We promptly walked out after being told our combined bills would be around $ 7000.
Please please please STAY AWAY FROM THIS PLACE!!!

Avoid this place like the plague. They are terrible and unprofessional. First off the wait was 20 minutes before I was taken to an x-​ray room. After taking x-​ray pictures of my teeth. The dentist never reviewed or looked over my x-​rays.
Then, after I told them I’d reconsider doing my night guard since my insurance wouldn’t cover it. The assistant dentist said they’d have to reschedule me another day to clean my teeth. I’m like what?! What dental place makes you come in for an x-​ray, not discuss the x-​rays with you, then makes you reschedule another time for a clean up. I told the assistant I’ve been cleaning my teeth for over 20 years and I’ve never heard of that. I told them I’m not making another appt. to come to clean my teeth. Why didn’t the receptionist mention that before I made an appt.
Long story short, the dentist finally cleaned my teeth but she did a terrible job, was not friendly at all, and she didn’t really know what she was doing half the time.
I have no idea how they stay in business, but if you want a great dentist don’t come here. They should change their name from Smiles R US to Frowns R US because I was frowning and upset after leaving this place!
