This review is long overdue. I’ve been going to Michelle for almost a year and every time I think of her, I think «I need to post on Unilocal.I need to buy a billboard and confess my love. How much is skywriting these days?»
So here it is. Michelle, how do I love thee? Let me count the ways:
Michelle makes the experience feel like a high-​end day spa. Her new space in the Roosevelt Lofts is beautiful with easy valet, great views of downtown, tasteful and comfortable décor… she’s done a great job of making the space the right balance of luxe spa and relaxed studio.
As others have said, she tailors each treatment to fit your skin at that time. There’s no one-​size-​fits-​all facial with Michelle — she creates each one specific to you. She mainly uses private label products (including her own) and other brand names she has trusted for many years. All the products smell great and give awesome results.
She’s fun to talk to and a great listener. She has tons of funny stories and she’s very open. BUT Michelle is not someone to force conversation so on the visits you want to just chill she doesn’t try to fill the space by talking.
Her services and products are a great value. Her monthly deal is so legit — you’re not going to find the same service and quality anywhere else.
For years I shied away from regular facials thinking it was a waste of money. In the past, a few days after one I would feel like my skin was back to normal. With the first couple visits with Michelle that was still the case, but after a few months I started to see a massive overall improvement. Not only did it feel like that super-​clean-​post-​facial-​feeling was lasting longer and longer — I felt like I wanted to take better care of my skin all the time. Michelle educated me on products, routines, and brands to avoid. She says one of the most common things she hears from clients is «That didn’t happen when I was younger!» Yup. The joys of aging. Luckily, Michelle is an anti-​aging superhero.

OMG. I had been wasting my time with Groupon facials here and there and not really looking for something better. My bestie ended up bringing me here. She gave me the gift of a lifetime: Michelle. Michelle is incredible. I mean it. First of all she is stunningly gorgeous. You take one look at her and know that you’re in amazing hands. So friendly, sweet, and makes you feel welcome.
The place is also awesome. You feel like you’re in NY in a way. The view is beautiful and takes you away from your troubles. She had these amazing snacks out. It’s like going to a family member’s house.
Her facial is by the far the best I’ve ever had in my life. EVER. Normally when I go somewhere they do a few extractions here and there and bye. Not here. Michelle inspects each and every part of your skin. I’ve never had extractions on my whole face before. My face feels like a million dollars.
I’m so glad I was brought here. I can’t wait to continue my facials and treatments with Michelle. I highly HIGHLY recommend Michelle. She rocks and will have u looking amazing like her. That’s my girl!

Michelle always leaves my skin feeling so much better. I go every month and it makes all the difference in my skin. She also gives advice and tips on a routine and how to help improve skin in between visits.

Michelle has moved, revamped and upgraded her space and facials in DTLA! I’ve been coming to see Michelle for 3 years now and my skin has never been better. She really knows skin, and how to combat whatever your problem area might be. Her specialties again are acne care and anti-​aging, and she can show you a variety of before/​after pics that highlight just how genius she is.
Her new spot is in the chic chic Roosevelt lofts, very conveniently located on 7^th street right across from Macy’s plaza. There’s COMPLIMENTARY VALET, just pull into the Roosevelt Lofts parking entrance off Flower St. The building is modern, luxe, convenient, and trendy. Michelle’s spa, in Apt. 811, fits right in. The décor is luxurious and well put together. Gauzy curtains, white furniture, candle light, and tons of open space lend a true spa feel to the place. Michelle works her facial magic in the side room, and she brings in an army of specialists in her middle space, from smart lashes, to therapy massages, to nails. She’s got the entire beauty Arsenal available for you, and all her people rock! Michelle is very passionate about what she does and her business, and personally vets each person to make sure they’re providing the highest quality service and product to her customers. I’ve tried the massages and they are out of this world — perfect pressure, totally relaxing, great attention to problem spots.
As for the facials, Michelle is still on her game. She takes extra time to do the best job, and is very thorough with extractions (much appreciated)! She custom caters your facial to what your skin needs that day, meaning you get the best thing possible for you! For example, while I usually get her signature facial (with lymphatic massage, extractions, cleansing, hydrating mask, etc), when I came back from a month of traveling we opted for the hydrating facial because my poor face really needed it. I’ve also tried her oxygen facial (you feel the moisture coming into your pores, very cool and refreshing) and her vi peel (chemical peel that takes off 3 layers of skin to reveal new baby soft skin free of imperfections). Michelle listens to her clients areas of concern and ensures each is addressed. She is professional, attentive, thorough, clean, and really good at what she does. Again, I get compliments all the time on how glowing my skin is — people think it’s genes or make-​up, but it’s really Michelle!
Monthly contract plan facials are $ 80 and well worth it to glow!

Slave girl was getting sick and tired of my beautiful man skin so she took me to her regular facial lady, Michelle, for a more girly soft touch for my already handsome face.
The appointment was set at 12:30pm but she was running a little behind so she asked us to show up at 1. No big deal since we were eating lunch anyway.
Parking was no problem since it was complimentary by Michelle and it was valet. If you come on Flower St traveling north, once you passed the 7^th St, it’s the third parking garage (second Roosevelt garage) on the left hand side. After you get the valet ticket, go inside and check in with front desk then you are ready to take the elevator up to be beautiful.
Michelle was friendly and knowledgeable, overall fantastic. She explained on what she was doing the whole time so I didn’t feel lost. That tingling feels I got on my face was unique and very sensational. Quick tip: do not open your eyes during the entire time or you will suffer some burning in the eyes and that could ruin your experience. Well, that’s what slave girl kept telling me anyway. I think she just wanted me to have my eyes closed so she could take advantage of me.
This first time facial experience was excellent and enjoyable. Michelle prepared little treats and water everywhere for us. The environment was chill with a great view and music selection fits the mood. I would highly recommend it.

Can I just say how amazing and relaxing Michelle’s facials are! Ahhh, I love her and her techniques… I have super sensitive skin and she always tries to find the best and even better solutions to please and keep my skin happy! She is indeed one of the best, and her price is so reasonable at the contract price that I totally recommend it. No more dry and irritated skin after finding Michelle! Thank you!

I am so thankful to have met her, I have acne and acne scars. She has made my face smoother, I can not remember the last time my skin looked so good :). I love the facials, she is so through and caring. This is my third facial and peel and I can see a difference it means a lot to me to have met such a lovely person like Michelle.

Michelle is my freaking hero.
I’ve suffered acne forever, and have been through EVERYTHING (including not one, but TWO sessions of accutane) and I still break out a lot. I would say that I have moderate to severe acne, with a lot of scars and just exhausted skin from the years of products and medicines I’ve thrown at it.
I went to Michelle not expecting much because my skin just doesn’t cooperate with anyone. But holy cow, she has literally transformed it. I can’t express just how incredible she is at her job…
1. My skin was SO clogged. After 2 sessions, it’s so smooth and I haven’t broken out at all this week.
2. She knew EXACTLY what treatment to recommend. I’ve been to other facial people before with little to no results, and I see now it’s because they weren’t properly addressing the issues. She is clearly an expert.
3. Affordable! Compared to other places… Which is great for my low income right now.
4. So kind and friendly and great at giving advice. Gives you SO much attention and care during your appointment. I knew from the second she started I was in good hands.
I’m so, so happy I found Michelle. I chose her because she is close to where I currently live, but even when I move in a month, I’m going to commute to her. Never going anywhere else again.

PS. I’ll post another update after a few more appointments, and I’m sure it’ll be just as excited or more, because my skin is only going to continue to improve from here.

This June is going to be a year since I became Michelle’s client. I found her through Lifebooker and after seeing how knowledgeable and passionate she is about what she does, I subscribed to her monthly services. After 6 months, I actually upgraded them to even more customized and additional skin boosters. Please note, that i suggested it myself. My skin is much cleaner and smoother and with almost no sun damage and fine lines now. What stands out about Michelle the most is how much she cares about the results and client’s wishes and concerns. All her facials are customized, every time I go to her, she does different things depending on my skin’s current needs. For example, during my last treatment, Michelle gave me Ultra Peel Forte, which by itself is $ 129, but she gave it to me at no additional charge.
What I also like about her is that she does not stop learning and updating her knowledge, she constantly obtains new certificates and licenses, she goes to a lot of trainings and then she passes her knowledge to her clients.
I don’t want to repeat what other reviewers said, but besides being a great esthetician, Michelle is a wonderful person. I am always excited to go to see her. I always learn something new from her and it always feels like you go to see a friend. All those 5 star reviews are well-​deserved. If you go to see her once, you will never leave her.

I don’t even know where to start, How Amazing she is or how Amazing she looks. Michelle is such a nice woman, very welcoming and kind. This is my very first visit with Michelle and I came to Smart skin solutions with acne, acne marks and a little bit of hyper pigmentation concerns. My case is not severe at all but still have that physical appearance I am not happy with.
Luckily on the day I reached Michelle she was able to fit me in for an appointment. She took time to evaluate my face and ask me what were my concerns etc. I initially found her looking for (VI peels) however, she explained to me what she thought was best for me at the moment based on looking at my face and how we could fix my concerns with a process. Honestly I appreciated that cause I have gone SEVERAL places where you literally get for what you pay. meaning you might not even need certain thing done but if you’re willing to pay for it hey let’s do it! I believed she said eventually we would get there, anywho she started me off with a facial (So relaxing) and a peel (can’t remember the name off my head right now) …
I am now on my 6^th day and I am peeling. I have followed instructions and everything is great so far. My upper lip has peeled the most and I can see a HUGEEE. Difference on that specific area where I had hyper pigmentation and that’s just on MY FIRST VISIT. I am so excited to see more results and I am excited for my next visit.
I love how she explains what she is doing to your face while doing her work, and also how she interacts with you and gives you such great tips to help improve the look of your skin. so far I am very pleased with my visit and I am really looking forward to being a long time client, I believe skin care is so important and also finding someone who is truly willing to help you out and actually care for your skin as much as you do.

I’ve been seeing Michelle for about half a year now. My biggest facial issue is blackouts, and Michelle has been great at helping alleviate that problem. She’s extremely thorough when she does the facials. She gets into your pores vigorously and takes everything out. Plus, my skin has been looking smoother since I started seeing Michelle.
On top of that, you’re being really pampered at the start of the facial. The warm bed, hot towels, and soothing ambiance are so relaxing, I almost fell asleep a few times. Because of that, I always look forward to my next facial with her.
The price is very reasonable considering the quality you are getting. If you go see Michelle regularly (I see her once every few weeks) she will make time to fit you into her schedule. And your skin will notice the difference.

Michelle is incredibly talented, competent, kind, beautiful both in and out — I could go on! Just one treatment has my face (which featured several hard-​to-​eliminate pimples/​zits) MUCH cleaner, with the aftereffects of peeling finishing about 6 days afterward. Feels great! I will be back, and I recommend you to her!

I found Michelle through lifebooker and had my first facial w her last Friday. As far as extractions go, she’s the best ! My face feels so clean and smooth after going to her. Overall it was a very relaxing experience. Ive already booked my next appointment w her and looking forward to my next facial!

Michelle is amazing! I trust her completely with my skin and have been going to see her monthly. She gets every single clogged pore unclogged and is totally fixing my skin! I have not had any of the scheduling difficulties mentioned in other reviews but she’s definitely worth it.

As others have mentioned, I also had a nightmare trying to schedule here. I work a lot of hours so I completely understand if you can’t accommodate me. But please be professional enough to correspond so I am not delaying making an appointment elsewhere while I wait for you to respond.

Michelle is fantastic! She is definitely thorough with extractions and will take care of EVERY clogged pore by going over areas more than once. I’ve never had anyone pay so much attention to extractions the way she does. Her facial massages are very relaxing, and she’ll focus on pressure points on your face. Not only is she extremely knowledgeable about different products and has great advice about regular skin care, she also has her own line. I found out about her through lifebooker and have been really happy with my skin ever since. I usually get a few breakouts here and there on my chin, but ever since seeing Michelle, I haven’t had a break out since. I even signed up for her 6 month contract deal (deep cleansing facial + peel once a month for $ 70 each facial).
You have to buzz in to get to the salon which is on the 6^th floor, and she shares her space with a hair salon. Street parking or park in the paid parking lot across the street. Extremely happy I discovered her!

Best.Facial.Ever. The only reason I’m not giving her 5 stars is because no one ever really believes the 5 star ratings. I’m not her friend, I’ve never met her before my appointment. I purchased a ViPeel on lifebooker and we added a facial on to that (for a lot less than I’ve paid for facials in the past) The facial was amazing! the extractions hurt but that’s to be expected and it was well worth it. My skin was in bad shape, huge clogged pores, tired, dehydrated… it was just a mess. She wasn’t preachy or rude about my skin care habits (or lack of) I sleep with my makeup on, its a horrible habit its so bad for your skin, I know this. She gave me some tips, didn’t try to sell me on anything was very nice and easy to talk to. My pores have never looked so clear and even a few weeks later my skin looks so much better than it used to.
I understand that running your own business can be difficult and you can’t answer your phone in the middle of a facial so I was fully expecting scheduling to be a little bit of a pain but I had no issues whatsoever. I left a message once and she called right back. Every other time she answered right away.
My only issue was that she should put on her website and get into the habit of telling people when she schedules with them that her name isn’t on the call box. I don’t remember the name of the salon but you have to call that salon’s ext to get in the building.

Discovered this place off a Lifebooker deal about a year ago and happily ended up getting set up with Michelle’s monthly plan. She will cater each facial to your concerns and inputs every time you go and definitely takes her time to do thorough extractions. I never leave there without glowing skin. Besides that, the spa is an oasis in downtown, a beautiful loft with a constant background influx of amazing music and hushed conversations in french. Michelle is a doll, the woman has flawless skin herself and we usually chat throughout the whole hour.
Re: scheduling, admittedly she is busy but has always communicated her schedule and has been incredibly accomodating for mine as well (will squeeze me in for a lunch hour facial during the work week).

I’ve been seeing Michelle for monthly facials for years now. I absolutely adore her. I’m about to relocate to Texas, and I have no idea what I’ll do without her!
I can’t imagine finding anyone as good as Michelle. Her products are amazing, she’s perfectly gentle and she’s just an amazing person.
Her monthly plan is the best — you get a discount on each appointment, and you never have to worry about your payments. I recommend it to anyone interested in long-​term skin care.

Michelle is wonderful! I found her on Lifebooker for a Loot (similar to a groupon/​livingsocial/​etc voucher) and went in for a deep cleaning facial.
The area is a little sketch — especially after dark. There are free street parking after 6pm, or a few paid lots in the area. It is located in downtown, if you’re not familiar, can get a little scary. However, when you head up to the 6^th floor/​topmost floor. It’s a gorgeous loft with a homely feel.
She takes the time to analyze your skin and explains the products and why she is using the products for your skin. Extractions aren’t the most pleasant thing, but she does what she has glow-​ify your skin. Her prices are listed on her website and it is a bit lower than I expected for the amazing facial I received.
Afterwards — your skin is glowing, you’re in bliss and walking out like you just had the best sleep :). Her products are pretty awesome and I’m not sure if my skin has felt this way in a long time.
Can’t wait to return. AND michelle, you have a new long term client *hearts*
