I always come here for my daily low tech/high tech coffee. I definitely appreciate their fairly priced coffee, especially at a college campus, where you’d expect it to be a lot more expensive. If you come between the hours in the morning, they have a discount of $.50 coffee with a purchase of a wrapped pastry. So, I got a muffin and coffee for only $ 1.80! You can’t beat those prices. Also, if you come between 5−6pm, they also have a 50 cent coffee deal, too! Even if you don’t come for their deals, their coffee is always less than a buck. The only catch is that they take only cash. So, make sure you have spare change!

I enjoy stopping by here between classes to get a quick snack and coffee. The service is quick and pretty cheap. There are a few places to sit but I prefer to take out.

Seas always saves the day! Go to any café on campus, I small coffee and donut will leave u down over $ 3. Seas from 730 – 10, $ 1.50 for a donut and coffee! Literally start skipping to class afterwards. The morning crowd is always so delightful! #morningpplftw but night is great too! Happy hour on coffee 5 – 6! Come early so they don’t run out! You’ll always catch the sleep deprived engineers and psych researchers in there. Course, feel like everyone knows this, but cash only. Super cheap but also a bit of a chore. Keep ur change! It’ll come in handy!

This is the place where I always have group study meet-up. The environment is cozy and quiet. Foods are very good and not expensive at all.

Cannot express more how we love this place. It is the power engine for the school of engineer in UCLA. Lots of snacks, sandwiches, instant noodles, coffee, and more. It used to cornered as a tiny little shop at the back of the 5th floor, but it got expanded based on the pictures. Hopefully, get another chance to revisit.

Great café for STUDENTS! This is not your typical café, so you probably shouldn’t bring a date here. All the snacks here are packaged and ready to go, the coffee here is inexpensive and tasty, and everything here is relatively inexpensive and great for students. I wouldn’t recommend studying here though, since there is a generator running right next to it. My favorite coffee here is the French Vanilla cappuccino, but it’s quite sweet for me. Perhaps I will mix it with some black coffee next time.

The iced coffee is premade sugar weirdness. I just want a regular iced coffee :( Meanwhile, the space is super cool and industrial looking.

Coffee here comes in many flavors. It is tasty, quick, and cheap. Recommend to all students who need a cup of coffee before class.

I like how they have a variety of drip coffees of different strengths because most places only seem to offer the bitter dark roast variety. The coffee here is surprisingly better than the caustic concoction brewed by some other coffee places on campus… Giving this place a 4 because of speed, value, and variety. Speed — There’s usually only 1 or 2 people in line so you can grab your coffee and run. Value — $ 0.95 for the flavored drip coffee that is pretty good and usually still hot Variety — Iced, drip, Keurig, and cappucino(from a machine) coffee. They offer real sugar, artificial sweeteners, syrup, powdered creamer, liquid creamer, and half-n-half. They sell Judy and Bart’s bags of gluten-free chocolate chip cookies! So addicted to these. I stock on snacks from here to keep me going throughout the week.

Stopped by this morning to grab some coffee and suffice my donut craving… Alas, no donuts, but they did have quite a few options of muffins and danishes. Overall, it cost $ 1.90 for a mug refill and fresh-baked banana nut muffin. Now, in my mind(comparing to the coffee shop 20 steps away who charges nearly $ 2 for a refill), that’s a free muffin! Great prices. It is a little run-down convenience store, but for the price and quality and ease of location(a short walk from my office), I’ll take it. They offer a wide array of flavorings and different types machine cappuccinos as well paper products and microwaves for students or whomever would like to warm up their lunch.

The reviews about this place having meals available are completely bogus. This place is a tiny little kwik-e-mart — some junk food, some pre-packaged snacks in freezers. There’s nothing here to eat that any person who cares at all about their health would actively consider to be «food». Bleh.

I am a big coffee fanatic, therefore I am extremely particular with my cup of joe(not the human Joe, mind you, but the metaphor for coffee) so I was skeptical when people raved to me about this«cheap and delicious» coffee SEAS Café apparently served here. It was a bright morning, just like any other. I decided to take a break from my usual walk to Schroedinger, which is my usual haunt, to check out SEAS coffee. And when i say«check out,» I actually mean to say«judge.» After navigating through the labyrinth called Boelter Hall, I finally discovered the entrance to this legendary location(notice the alliteration). If Christopher Columbus felt anything when he stumbled upon America, then what I felt would be pretty similar. Anyway, I deftly walk in, making sure that no one noticed me because, well, I am pretty much a big deal, and I made it to the coffee dispenser. The coffee dispenser seemed foreign to me because I was used to the French Press and cold brew. However, I knew my reputation was at stake, so I played it off like I knew how to use it and poured some coffee into a cup. I did miss several times, but alas, no one noticed, so my reputation was intact. After the 8th try, I finally filled up the cup of Joe(not the human Joe, mind you, but the metaphor for coffee) and proceeded to pay for it at the counter. The delightful person at the register told me the price and I was astounded to how inexpensive it was! I peered into my wallet, but alas! I only had a two dollar bill, so I gave it to her. She did not have any change, but I told her that it’s all good and she can keep the change. She gave me the biggest smile in the world and that alone gave SEAS café the first 4 stars. Now it was time for the coffee. Being the coffee purist I am, I did not add any cream or sugar and drank it straight up. It was hot, yes, but as a coffee connoisseur, I would not let that hinder my advance. I chugged it, to the dismay of onlookers, but I let the haters hate. My verdict? Well, given that the coffee did sear off my tastebuds during that encounter, I was unable to taste the coffee. But it did have a nice dark color so it’s safe to assume it’s good coffee, so I’ll throw in that last star.

It’s like a secret store in boelter… who even goes to boelter excepted engineering and physics majors I overheard a classmate talking about getting her odwalla drinks here for cheaper than what I paid at Ackerman so I did some Nancy drewing and scoped this place out. Before the renovations, this place looked like a sketch convenience store. Now it looks semi legit… Everything here is sooo much more affordable than the other student stores on campus. Coffee for less than a dollar! This place is great for us broke students… but remember CASHONLY!

This place is awesome! Cheap coffee and snacks for UCLA students. This place wasn’t very well known and was kept a secret from most of the student body. I like that because there were never any lines and you were able to get in and get out fast in between classes. Arizonas and pastries was were it was at. I miss this place. Thank you SEAS! I wonder why I never considered getting a work study job at this place lol. –Tej

This is small little café located on the fifth floor of UCLA’s Boelter hall. It’s popular among engineering students and many other South Campus majors due to its affordable prices on snacks and drinks! They have all kinds of goodies here like donuts, granola bars, chips and the all time must have of college students… instant noodles! They also have plenty of drinks to keep students awake such as red bull, soda and coffee. They even have different flavored syrups to make your coffee sweeter! Students can enjoy their snacks and drinks in small tables with a window view of the Court of Sciences. SEAS café offers various specials through the year via their facebook page. They also have a daily coffee happy hour after 5. SEAS café is a good place offering quick snacks for hungry students.

Earlier this year, I left a job in the private sector due to the toll it was taking on my health(stress and weight gain). Now I am happily employed at UCLA with no stress(but notice that I did not say weight loss). I’m still a pudgy dude thanks to SEAS(but I ain’t complaining). At SEAS, I feel like a kid in a candy store. You see, SEAS Café is a candy store and coffee shop… the crackhouse to my sugar addiction, if you will. I heart SEAS for the following reasons: 1. The least expensive coffee on campus.(Yeah, I’m pointing at you, Kerckhoff). 2. Free self-serve syrups for your coffee(But if you want to pay for syrup, go to the Bombshelter). 3. Hostess Products(Twinkies and Donettes) 4. Krispy Kreme donuts. 5. Candy bars are still $ 1(whereas the prices of the campus vending machines got jacked up to $ 1.25. And the ASUCLA student store? It charges tax). Oh SEAS, you are just my type. As in Type II diabetes.

THEHIDDENGEMOFBOELTER!!! WITHOUTTHISPLACE I WOULDHAVEFELLASLEEPANDFAILEDALLTHECLASSES I HADINBOELTER. Although Boelter/MS is a freaking maze, luckily this place is easy to find! Offers VARIETY of snacks, some lunch options, MANY canned drinks(energy drink, iced tea, soda…), and coffee! For super cheap too!(No tax!) Oh CASHONLY though! As an engineering student, I ALWAYS have classes in Boelter and I HATE it cuz everything is old and dirty in this building… BUTSEASCAFEMAKESITALLBETTER! :D They also have 2 microwaves and plastic utensils so y’all apt-ers can bring your lunch to heat up and eat! It gets pretty poppin around lunch time, so the lines for microwaves can get kinda long and it’s hard to get tables. Bottom line — SEASCAFEISAWESOMEANDIFYOU’RE A SOUTHCAMPUSMAJORANDYOUHAVEN’T BEENTHEREYET, YOU’REMISSINGOUT!

While reminiscing with a friend, he demanded that I review SEAS Café. It’s weird to read the reviews calling it a «hidden gem.» That’s a cliché that I’d generally reserve for cute, cozy, quaint places. My first time to the seas café before it’s latest relocation, I fondly remember being escorted by my geophysics professor who I started working with. I was just a naïve wide-eyed sophomore. She said, «let’s grab a coffee.» With her dollar in hand, I awkwardly walked across the Court of Science with her as she explained«the nerd store» to me. Even before the old location, she used to grab a quick $ 0.50 coffee from this secret store in the engineering building. Apparently, the old old location had a window into the computer lab and from an outside perspective, people holding their cash were walking into seas to and I quote«buy a nerd.» After that, I became quite attached to the windowless seas during my decade at ucla(bummer that the arcade games didn’t make it to the fancy fresh seas). A boisterous greeting from Enrique always brightened my day. And if asked to describe seas, I’d say it’s more like the Legend of Zelda. You’ve got your ucla world and nestled within that, different levels and buildings to explore. You battle professors and their classes, you’re slaving away over homework, you pull all-nighters studying, you’ve probably got someone or something nagging at you, saying«HEY! LISTEN!» So if you think about it, you’re Link and you’re on a quest to get through college. Maybe you’ll even rescue the princess on the way. Like Link you will find that the halls of Boelter and the Math building are a dizzying maze, but turn around the right corner and«dun nuh nuh nuh!» You’ve just located the seas café. You’re reward is copious amounts of cheap and easy food. It’s cash only and I doubt they take rupees, but you’ll get the best deals and variety on campus. It’s everything you would want when your body requires sustenance. And once you’ve found it, you know you’ll be back again to replenish. Whether you still know it as the nerd store, seas, café by the seas, or something else, it’s all the same and it’s all good. It’s dangerous to go alone! So go find the seas café.

The place got renovated? Wasn’t here long enough, but I do go often to notice how great of a place this is. This place has the cheapest little snacks and drinks, and you’ll find a lot of gems and foods that you won’t find at your local general supermarket. Seriously, the snacks here and much cheaper than the ones at Ackerman Student Union or any student centers in North or South Campus. Discount on coffee if you bring your own mug! Doesn’t apple to tea. But tea is like 55 cents. Perfect place to use my spare change on my desk. Finally! Something good from Boelter Hall!
