My brother and I had our braces done here.
All I can say… This people are Awesome!!! Thanks to them I can finally smile and laugh without any worries. Dr. Moon and his team are the best. Everyone here is very friendly they work around your schedule and affordable payments.

I have such a miserable dental experience in my whole life. Every time before I go to get regular checked I had at least one broken bracket and their response is always it’s my eating habits. They even tried to charge me extra for that. They made me feeling so guilty out of it that breaking bracket is very rare but every time I go I can hear other patients are there complaining on the same problem.
I can’t stand anymore. Now it’s almost 2 years and doesn’t seem like it’s going to be done soon as they promised. Now I am going to look for another orthodontist seriously.
On top of that, I realized that they have been using very dirty rusted tools to their patients. I was freaking out that I took pictures. They made me wait almost 1 hr so I paid extra attention to other things and I found out this.
This place is crazy. I used to work as a nurse and they don’t think patients know nothing and dumbs. However they have to know how to run the business if they keep wanting to stay in this industry.
Please people don’t go to this place please.

I had a great experience with Dr. Moon. He is very smart and funny, and he also cares about his patients.
On my first visit, he took time to sit down with me to discuss a course of treatment and answered all of my questions.
Also, his staffs are very helpful and friendly. They welcome you and make you feel very comfortable.
Now, I am so proud to show my smile and teeth.

I had the worst experience at the ortho office. DO NOT GO HERE. They didn’t do anything correctly. They were saying i was ready to take off my braces after 2 years, but in my eyes my teeth were still not aligned. I ended up going to a different orthodonist and and had to start over. My new orthodonist said dr moon didnt place the brackets at the correct spots. I regret going here wasting extra money and time.

GO ELSEWHERE. Like everyone else is saying, dr moon does not even work on your teeth at all. You’re lucky if you even see him. You always have to wait even with an appointment because they schedule about 10+ people at the same time. Would not recommend to anyone. They’re also very overpriced.

I’ve been going here for the past 3 years and have always been treated with great customer service. Dr. Moon relocated to a new location on 6^th and Virgil for the better. It’s a nice friendly environment and everyone there always makes me feel welcome. The front desk assistant Sandy, is a hardworking women who is extremely friendly. This location can be busy at times since they don’t open everyday but they always try their best to makes us satisfied with what we want to do. They have a lot of patients with all their customers and I couldn’t be happier with the results I ended up with my braces. Had my braces on for 2 in a half years and my process was smooth, I was scared but they really connect with you and make you feel comfortable. I would definitely recommend this orthodontist to everyone. And Dr. Moon & Dr. Holly are tremendously amazing!

Horrific. This office has only one concern only. Money Money Money $$$$$$$. They don’t even have a care in the world of how they treat you as long as they rob you clean from your pockets.
They recently changed owners (to my dissapointment) and I miss the old guy. He was friendly and welcoming and had a legitimate concern for your problems. The new Owner doesn’t even WORK there. The helpers try too hard to pretend like they cares especially their fake tone like everything is perfect in that facility.
These NEW owners are horrific. I had a record with the old owner for my retainers and since he left, the NEW owners DEMAND us to pay them AGAIN. 4k for us to pay something that we’ve been doing for months? We complained that we shouldn’t have to repay just because they are new owners. I understand this is a business but the Secretary didn’t give two @#$%‘s of what we had to say. Rude and completely fake.
Please. Find somewhere else like I have. We get charged half the price and have 100x better service than Scott’s. One of the best decisions I have ever made to leave there.

IT’S A TOTAL FACTORY AND YOU WILL MOST LIKELY GET SERVICED BY ASSISTANTS AND BARELY GET TO SEE DR. MOON AT ALL!!! The only time I got to sit and talk to the doctor was when my first consultation visit and that’s it!

Here, I expected to get an update on my son’s monthly visits even if it was for 30 seconds from the doctor. Dr. Moon is most never to be seen. There are about 10 chairs of patients sitting at the same time, with multiple dental assistants doing most of the work.
I complained about this at the front receptionist SANDY said, «This is how it works here. Take it as it is, or go somewhere else».
THIS IS NOT THE ONLY PROBLEM. Due to the careless work done by assistants, mostly immediately after the work is done, the wire comes undone or something breaks.
PLEASE TAKE MY ADVICE AND Unilocal ANOTHER ORTHODONTIST IN THE AREA. THIS PLACE IS A FACTORY GONE WRONG! They even put my son into the X-​RAY room for x-​rays that was meant for another child!!! HOW IS THIS EVEN POSSIBLE???
After months of disappointment and bad treatment, our family found a wonderful orthodontist who really cares and spends time with each patient and that was the best decision we made.
DO NOT WASTE YOUR MONEY OR TIME HERE.

DO NOT use Dr. Moon if you are looking for a detailed orthodontist who will spend personal time with you to meet your specific needs.
Every visit is like a factory cookie cutting operation. You wait in the long line, you get called in, a «dentist assistant» changes your rubber bands, and you’re expected to leave without even being seen by Dr. Moon. They don’t give you the attention you deserve, especially considering how much they charge.
They «accidentally forgot» to tell me to stop using the corrective rubber bands for over 5 months!!! So because of that all my teeth are shifted to the left. And Dr. Moon didn’t even notice (maybe he did but didn’t say anything) and took of my braces. Now, after a year, I can clearly see that my face is lopsided because the unaligned teeth have cause my whole facial structure to become asymmetrical.
STAY AWAY!!! There are far more qualified orthodontists who give you the personal time you deserve and charge much less.

I (and the rest of the Korean American population, hah) came here to get my braces about 10 – 11 years ago. Throughout my 2 – 3 years of having braces and retainers, I can’t remember having one bad experience.
Obviously I don’t know what it is like there now, but back then the receptionists were always super friendly and accommodating to any schedule changes/​requests. I almost always got at least 5 minutes of Dr. Moon’s time during each visit and he was always very friendly and conversational. The guy definitely has good people skills!
Even back then they had been expanding their operations due to their rapidly growing client base. Almost everyone I know in ktown who has gotten braces/​retainers has gone to Dr. Moon. The dude practically owns ktown! I wish them the best and hope that future braces/​retainer-​wearers receive the same great service I got from them 10 years ago :)

Best orthodontist in town, bar none. My family has been his patients for many many years and we have been always treated with respect and fairness. Kids love to come as the waiting room is huge and is is filled with goodies, such as free internet, large screen TV, tons of current magazines, etc.

I can’t say i’ve experienced better, since this is my first (and hopefully last) time getting braces. I chose to go to Scott Moon for braces because I heard such good things about his office. On top of that, my brother got his braces here so we got a small discount! Yay for that.
Dr. Scott Moon does an excellent job at what he does, you can tell that he’s very educated. His assistants that change your rubber bands and what not are all soooooo friendly! They all have a sweet, welcoming voice and make sure that you’re okay and not in any pain.
MY BIGGEST COMPLAINT would have to be the scheduling receptionists in the front. More than several times I have received crap service from them. They greet you with smiles, but most of the time I feel like it’s forced.
My dissatisfaction with them started when I called to tell them I would be 10 minutes late… big mistake. I shouldn’t have called at all. She told me to reschedule for next week. Just for 10 minutes??? You keep me waiting in the lobby for 15, anyways! I was really annoyed because it usually takes me 40 min to get there.
They also don’t call you if you’ve missed an appointment.
The NEXT thing that pissed me off was when my upper left end bracket fell off, leaving about an inch of the wire slashing my inner cheek. I had a gash about 2 inches long, and I couldn’t eat, talk, or smile. I called them to make an emergency appointment, but the bitch tells me to wait until Saturday, 6 days away. My bf got so mad, he made me call them back and demand and earlier day so I did…2 days earlier. The receptionist was very impatient with me and it really got me upset.
The last and final occurrence that led me to writing a review happened just about 2 hours ago. I was scheduled today to take my braces off, having made an impression for my retainers 2 weeks prior. They said they were moving offices, but the receptionist gave me an appointment for today. So I drive 40 minutes to this new office, and find that there was nothing but dry wall and construction workers working on the place. WHAT. THE. FFFFF. I call the ortho and the same receptionist picks up and I tell her that i’m here but they haven’t even moved… she says «I don’t know how you have an appt when we’re not open all week.» WHAT! YOU SCHEDULED IT B*TCH!!!
That honestly got me furious! They didn’t even have the decency to call me ahead of time to let me know!
I just cannot WAIT to get my braces off so I don’t have to deal with these people a minute more –_–

I have a few reasons for my giving this place 2 stars instead of its rightful 4 or 5.
First, things that I like about this office are:
1. Welcoming receptionists (and artistic as well, whoever decorates those white boards with a list of patients’ names arriving for that day)
2. A medley of skilled and orderly staff, with fluent Korean speakers and English speakers available… or some speak both proficiently to boot.
3. Dr. Moon, the head of the operations is exceptionally good at what he does, and visibly enjoys his job. He is bilingual (Korean and English) and sometimes will try to strike a conversation with you regardless of the fact that your mouth is full of his fingers at the moment… and if it matters, he’s a fellow Bruin. (GO BRUINS!)
I do not like:
1. Dr. Moon’s office works somewhat like an assembly line. The main operating room consists of around 7 – 8 chairs with Dr. Moon’s underlings running the majority of it. I’m not sure who these underlings are. Are they assistants and/​or apprentices? I’ve seen Dr. Moon’s credibility proven by his impressive plaques but who are the rest of these people and why are they running most of. well. everything while Dr. Moon will only pop in occasionally to do major jobs? This assembly line system also creates a very awkward environment where other patients, total and complete strangers, are sitting not even 3 ft. away. This takes away any sort of privacy.
2. Also, most critically to me, I REALLY don’t like that sometimes it’s possible that Dr. Moon himself will not even check in on you if it’s just getting your braces tightened or something. Maybe I’m being picky, but no matter how small the job, I want my doctor, the one I’m paying for, to be the one to at the very least drop in and see my progress. I feel that the system is too efficiency-​driven.
3. Finally, I had a horrible experience with one of his assistants. This assistant had grown impatient with me because I had broken one of my brackets for the 4^th time. I felt apologetic, but increasingly indignant when she became visibly upset with me, becoming cross when I refused her suggestion of putting a band around the tooth the bracket broke off of. I politely declined stating that the band they had previously put around one of my molars was giving me inflammation on my gums… which was actually my reason for coming in for that appointment. She stated that I wasn’t flossing correctly without examining the area, and made a big fuss, criticizing me in front of other patients about my breaking my bracket. After I confirm that I still want a bracket and not a band. that I am sorry and will be careful, she gives a big show of giving in… and in her emotion, she slips one of her metal tools against my lip rather painfully without so much as an apology. At that point, I was rather seething because a previous bracket had broken due to their mistake, and the other two had been broken in one incident due to a bad accident with a certain food.
Now… I don’t recall her being the most friendly of all the staff, but she was certainly not this rude before. so perhaps she had a bad day. But I’ve had to deal with some of the most vile people… customers who feel that it is within their right to look down upon people working in restaurants or retail. I’ve had to smile and nod, and apologize for mistakes that were not my own to ensure customer satisfaction and quite frankly, EVERYBODY has their bad days and still have enough sense to hold a certain amount of professionalism for their job. I feel that the assistant could have done better. She could have held up more professionalism to a patient who was not argumentative but polite and apologetic about their mistake. She alone is my reason for docking 3 stars from Dr. Moon’s office. I intend on going back, informing them that I am not responsible for ALL of my broken brackets, and requesting that the said assistant will never work on me again. I am then open to updating this entry. But until then, 2 stars it is for utter lack of professionalism and no concern for patient privacy.

I got my braces off before I started 10^th grade. Sooo that’s been about 8 years or so.
Of course, like most people who get their braces taken off, I decided to never wear my retainers. Well, recently one of my bottom tooth decided to be retarded and it became a little crooked. It wasn’t that big of a deal since no one could see it and only I could if I opened my mouth widely and stared into the mirror, but it still bothered me.
I decided to go back to Dr. Moon and see what he could do. Honestly, I was freaking terrified that I would have to get braces again. But after a short consultation, he said it could be fixed with retainers. YAY!!! (Yes, I have retainers on right now as I’m typing this…)
This is the place to go to if you’re looking to get braces. The staff is really friendly, the waiting room always has a movie playing, there’s 3 computers you can log onto while waiting, etc.

I had braces from high school into my first year of college. I have to give Dr. Moon 5 stars, because the service of the facility is amazing. From the first x-​ray to the last retainer fitting, I have always felt welcome here. Dr. Moon and his staff are incredibly friendly, and he even strikes conversation with you. I have to say I never felt like just a patient, everyone here is really nice and their waiting room is full of computers, magazines, and a TV with a movie playing.
I was especially impressed, because after I had my braces taken off, I did not go back until my retainer broke and even after three years, they remembered my name and knew who I was.
