Sanaz Parsi, DDS – Angeleno Smile

Office is very nice and extremely high tech. The entire staff was very professional. I had a dental cleaning and extremely thorough dental exam. Dr. Parsi is very personable and put forth time with me. I will be returning.

It had been over 6 years since I had been to the dentist when I stepped into Dr. Parsi’s office. To say I was nervous was an understatement. First impressions: the office was immaculate & super modern/​high tech. The staff were SO SWEET & made my husband and I feel very comfortable. I explained to dr. Parsi that we did not have insurance and wanted to come up with a plan so that we could rank the work my husband and I needed to get done in order of most important and least important. That way we could financially focus on what needed to immediately be done to make our teeth/​mouths healthy again. Everyone from the girl who took our x-​rays to the hygienist were so professional and kind. My Husband and I both needed a deep cleaning (duh, it had been 6 years since our last cleaning!!) The deep cleaning must be divided into two appointments. I was very nervous going into my first appointment, the hygenist was so professional I could barely feel the shot to numb my gums. She was thorough yet quick. When it was time for my second appointment I was not nervous at all. My husband and I both have another appointment tomorrow, he’s getting a crown and I’m getting my gums measured to see how they have improved since the deep cleaning. I’m actually looking forward to going in to Angeleno Smile. They’re making us healthy again and I completely trust everyone there. Worth the long drive from Pasadena. I’ll never go anywhere else for Dental work.

I wouldn’t really recommend her, not because I don’t think she’s knowledgeable, but because she tries to up-​sale you unneeded services like crazy. This dentist is very smart, and she has a great hustle going for her.
I really advise UCLA students to stay away from her cunning marketing practice’s on students. Not so long ago, she advertised a «Free Lifetime Whitening System» to the first 100 U-​SHIP students who called her in for an appointment. I being, a student myself, went in to see her and she basically tried to push me to pay for two deep cleaning services. Totaling at $ 124 with my UCLA U-​SHIP insurance, and after you complete the cleanings will she then give you the «Free Lifetime Whitening System». She must think I’m a stupid college student or something. There is no reason for anyone to ever pay that much for teeth cleaning when the UCLA School of Dentistry will do the same work (if not better) for much cheaper or even free.
My verdict for current Bruins out there needing dental services is this: just go to the UCLA School of Dentistry. Much more reasonably priced for the same results.
And the last thing that really put me off from this dentist was that she recommended I remove all 4 of my wisdom teeth at the same time; even though my wisdom teeth aren’t damaging any of my other teeth or even bothering me. They grew in just fine. But for a nice $ 400+ more she can remove all my teeth for no real reason!
Her «comforting words» were that all her clients are on sedatives during this procedure and I shouldn’t worry. Well gee, I sure hope they are on sedatives. Would be unethical otherwise, huh? I’m sure it’s also easier to overcharge patients when they are high on narcotics too.
The best part came when I was encouraged that I open a «medical» credit card so I can pay for my unnecessary wisdom teeth removal, and all the $ 4,000 worth of dental work that I «needed». That way I can afford my over-​priced dental work in installments with interest incurred (APR 26.99%)! LOL I’m telling you, she has a great hustle going.
I will say, I liked the Netflix though. Especially during the painful x-​ray routine. Weird, never experienced this much discomfort from a dental assistant for just x-​rays.

I hate to write this review, but after seeing my new dentist today I’m pretty upset.
Let me start off with the pros. First, the office is very clean and trendy with free coffee, water and candy. The office staff is wonderful – they are always so helpful and professional.
Cons. I had a crown done for my bottom molar. When Dr. Parsi tried to put it on after it came back from the lab, it didn’t fit so she made some minor adjustments that were very uncomfortable but I dealt with it. When I tried to floss that night, I couldn’t even floss because the crown didn’t fit properly and there was no gap for me to floss (very uncomfortable)! I went back for her to fix it, and what she did was force floss and some other hard metal filing board to create a gap which took a long time and very painful (ouch). To this day, it still is a struggle to floss. My new dentist looked at my x-​rays and said the crown didn’t fit properly and he saw decay where the gap is which is the result of an ill fitted crown. So he recommended that I call the Dr. Parsi to discuss this since now I might (should) get a new crown and the color of the crown is 8 shades lighter than the rest of my teeth… smh. After all that, I decided to give Dr. Parsi another chance since she is indeed a very sweet and caring doctor to her patients. I had her fill a cavity which she did a poor job on and my mouth was sore after. I told her the filling wasn’t flat and I felt 2 levels on that molar which was uncomfortable AND my tooth was hurting a lot (even more sensitive than before). So I went back for her to fix it, which in my opinion made it worse and even more painful to deal with. Then she tells me the reason why it’s hurting is because I need a root canal. I immediately left her office after that visit and found my current dentist. He saw the filling/​x-​ray and explained how she did a poor job with the unevenness of the surface and she also drilled into the adjacent good molar (probably did this while trying to smooth out the surface). This explains why it’s painful and sensitive to floss between those two molars. My dentist said this could be fixed easily by another filling, not root canal! My mouth is a mess and I’m not happy with her skills. But on the bright side, if you need a simple teeth cleaning, I think she’s sufficient. As a result, I’m going to redo my crown and filling that I paid a lot of money for. Unhappy and Unsatisfied patient.

If you see some positive reviews here it’s because they’re literally paying customers $ 10 to post Unilocal reviews. My experience here has been horrible: Ever since Dr. Parsi switched to newer offices she’s increasingly been focused on upselling services you don’t need: teeth whitening, «deep» cleaning, cosmetic work. The trouble is you don’t know when she’s telling you something about your teeth whether you really need the work done or she’s just trying to pay for the expensive space. Definitely pass here: not an honest dentist in my humble opinion. And you’ll wait a lot longer for service than you think is possible…

I don’t understand why this practice is getting such positive reviews…
I came in for a routine cleaning and was upsold for about $ 5000 worth of her services which she assured me was very «affordable». Hah!
The cleaning itself was short and unpleasant, but the wait was longgggg. She was working on 2 patients at the same time so was constantly coming in and out of the exam room. I did not get her undivided attention for the short time she cleaned my teeth.
If you want to get bamboozled by a GREEDY dentist, you’ve come to the right place.

First off, your response was rude, wrong, and unprofessional. I DID NOT inquire about optional treatments. You were upselling me left and right as though you work on commission. If you were a good provider, you would have listened to your patient’s comments, whether bad or good, and modify your services to meet their needs, not to promote your own interests — in this case, making $$$ from your patients whether they really need the services or not. That’s just wrong and unethical.

I want to first give the entire office staff credit for being one with a high level of professionalism, while having the ability to be down to earth, and making the patients feel as comfortable as possible. I found this office by googling dentists, and now that my dental needs have been begun to be addressed, I am very glad that I found them. After searching through a number of dentist, I found that finding a dentist that could see me during hours that would allow me to not be able to miss work was almost impossible; however, I called this office, and got an appointment at 8am on the next day. I had major dental issues that needed to be addressed, but I have a very demanding job, and the fact that their regurlar office hours are 8am-​6pm, it worked perfectly with my schedule.
As for the service that I received, they were excellent. After visiting their office, I was able to sleep after havng several sleepless nights due to the pain. Dr. Parsi prescribed me antibiotics, and gave me instructions on how to take them, and this actually relieved me of the pain that I had been experiencing. Within days, I was back in the office to have the procedures performed that addressed the dental issues that I had been having.
After having the procedures done, I received a follow-​up call to check on me, making sure that I wasn’t experiencing pain or major discomfort, as well as to verify that I was taking my medication as prescribed. When I saw their number, I assumed that they were calling because of some type of issue with my insurance or something, so to say that I was surprised by this kind gesture is a true understatement.
As a result of the services that I received at Pain Angeleno Smile, I am making this dentist office my primary dentist for all of my future dentist needs.

If you are looking for a dentist that truly cares about YOU, and not just pushing you out the door to get to the next patient, Dr. Parsi and her staff are all you need. I have never felt rushed when going in for an appointment. In fact, only the opposite. I feel welcomed, like I am their guest!
I have been with Dr. Parsi for over 2 years now, and she has recently upgraded to a newly constructed suite within her building. I thought her other suite was nice, but this one is top notch. She has installed TV’s overhead for you to watch while you wait, brand new equipment, very comfortable seating and lighting, and clean protective gear for you to wear. These are all things that we as patients want and appreciate to make us as comfortable as possible when dealing with something as sensitive as our mouths.
Want to see closeup photos of your teeth and gums, instead of hearing from the dentist that you have a cavity? They take high definition photos for you to see the problem areas, then a photo afterwards for you to compare the before and after shots. Donna, their wonderfully courteous receptionist, even emails them to you! The x-​rays are also digital here, so no more of those uncomfortable, disposable, rough plastic film chips. They use a plastic wrapped reusable piece of equipment that sits in your mouth, and is connected to the computer behind you, displaying x-​rays instantly.

Absolutely loved this place. Typically I’m a bit cautious and nervous when looking to go find a good dentist but my friends recommendation was surely appreciated. I went to Dr. Parsi and felt comfortable and at ease as soon as I walked in. The staff there was truly friendly and made me feel like I was part of there family. They offered me refreshments as I waited as well as having a classy look to the office with a good ambiance. When I was called upon to go get seen they had high quality, high tech equipment and even had a tv with Netflix to watch while they worked on me. I got to my appointment 40 minutes early so I enjoyed a nice cup of green tea while I filled out my paperwork. I was surprised that they offered me some tea, they have a flat screen TV in the waiting room and even charger for all type of cell phones!!! I felt like I was in there for a spa appointment, NOT for a dental cleaning!
Dr. Parsi was extremely approachable and answered all my questions especially since I started grinding my teeth. She was knowledgeable and could tell right away that I needed to use a mouth guard since I apparently do it in my sleep.
I enjoyed the Netflix playing on the screen as I sat in my chair waiting for my X-​rays. I don’t usually watch television but it was another nice little getaway from normalcy.
As we went further into my bi-​annual teeth cleaning, I asked about Invisalign. Dr. P walked me through the procedure and approximated less than a year for me! Totes exciting since I’ve been wanting to straighten my teeth without having to use braces AND since I am now a full time working actress. I like my snaggle teeth since it gives me character but Dr. Parsi alerted me about a cavity forming since its a tough area to clean due to the positioning. I floss religiously but since its a bit crooked, its tough to get pieces of food in there. She was very practical and said that it was more of a health risk than an aesthetic thing. I totally agree with her and given my profession, it makes sense to fix my smile, on top of that their prices were very reasonable.
The examination rooms looked neat and well lit with what seemed to be ALL brand new equipment. I love the modern décor especially the bright and nice colors they have used
If you’re looking to get a hassle free dental visit, I would highly recommend a visit to Angeleno. Friendly staff, clean environment and knowledgeable Dentist.

Dr. Parsi was my dentist in Pasadena for a couple of years and we immediately bonded. She is sweet, kind, funny and has always made me feel safe and welcomed. When she opened her own practice the westside, I naturally followed her and the crew (Stephanie & Donna) because that’s what loyal clients do :). Her new place is so modern, clean and welcoming. I am greeted with smiles, Netflix, and gourmet coffee (if I want some). Bright orchids are placed everywhere and its just a nice, soothing environment…(because dental work sucks especially if u have a low tolerance for pain). So anyway, I love Dr. Parsi. She’s the best! I highly recommend her! About to get some work done… gotta go!

Dr. Sanaz Parsi is an exceptional dentist and a very caring professional. Dr. Parsi always patiently explains everything and what I appreciated most is her transparency with the coverage of insurance and what all the options are, without ever trying to ‘sell’ something that isn’t necessary.
I would strongly recommend her to everyone.

I have the proofs for appointment time and the time I left her office. I took time off from work for the appointment and I went to pharmacy to take narcotics! she prescribed after leaving her office. I can post it here — Everybody should see what they should expect from this dentist !!!
After you tortured A PATIENT WITH AN HAMMER AND TORN HIS MOUTH DURING ‘WHAT SHE SAID A ‘SIMPLE’ EXTRACTION’, DO NOT OFFER HIM/​HER ORAL SURGERY TO FIX WHAT YOU MESSED UP!
As for the billing, they billed $ 420 for this ‘simple extraction’ and $ 1000 for cleaning half of my mouth!!! Be aware of this too!
ANYWAYS, MY PROBLEM IS SHE IS RESPONSIBLE FOR LOSING MY DENTAL HEALTH, SHE MADE IT WORSE AFTER SPENDING $$$$ AND MY DENTAL HEALTH WILL NOT COME BACK! I LOST IT BECAUSE OF HER!

I had an incredibly bad experience. I had a series of problems, fillings, root canal, crown, etc. After the initial exam, we decided on a treatment plan.
She found that extraction of a wisdom tooth is urgent and she strongly ensured that she can extract the wisdom tooth smoothly first. I would go to a specialist for such a treatment. She was extremely confident.
It took around 4 hours, she used a HAMMER time to time, she broke it into pieces and left a piece inside.
From the first moment, she only cared about extracting it no matter what happens.
She TORN MY MOUTH!
Find the attached photo. It took me more than a month to open my mouth again. It left a scar on my mouth (still visible after 4 months) — I could not eat and drink because of bleeding for 3 – 4 days. I could not speak.
They also messed the claim issues with my insurance company — These issues are still pending but we will see what will happen. I will update.
I would never visit this dentist! They made my life worse than before!

I just want to start off with how amazing Dr. Parsi and her staff are. I avoid the dentist at all cost, this staff made me feel comfortable and I was well taken care of!
I came in for a cleaning and overall checkup, I had been putting the dentist visit off for a while. However my experience here was absolutely pleasant (of course no one likes someone else in their mouth, but, the job must be done) with absolutely no pain. There’s nothing worse than getting work done in your mouth and not feeling safe with the dentist or taken care of, and worst of all someone who doesn’t care and rushes through, you won’t have this experience here.
With that said I would highly recommend Dr. Parsi and her staff. They answered all my questions and concerns with such patience. Without a doubt I’m here to stay!

I started seeing Dr. Parsi last year. She’s one of the best dentists I have come across. She’s very professional, careful, thorough and caring.

I caught Sanaz Parsi in a straight up lie.
I chose this dentist because of the Unilocal reviews. Her 5 stars on Unilocal is not to be trusted. Here is a little background: I have my top 2 wisdom teeth that came down perfectly. My usual dentist in Norcal told me it was not necessary to take them out because they were hardly affecting the other teeth. I was not even aware they came out until I was told so.
The lie: Parsi looked at my x-​rays and suggested that I take out my wisdom teeth. She also said I have one cavity on a separate tooth. I expressed concern with taking out my wisdom teeth because they didn’t bother me at all. She immediately changed her story, saying that my wisdom teeth also had cavities and she wasn’t going to fill them in because she wanted to «just take them out.» YOU TOLD ME I HAD 1 CAVITY, NOW I HAVE 3? How shady is that???
While she was tending to other patients, I asked the dental assistant how many cavities I had, and she confirmed I only had one. I asked another dental assistant to look at the x-​ray and tell me how many cavities I had. Once again, just one. I got out of there ASAP because I didnt trust a single word Parsi had to say.
Other smaller issues with this office:
1. There’s a receptionist there who is very talkative and tried convincing me to get my wisdom teeth pulled by saying that «God decided we didn’t need our wisdom teeth so it is important to get them out.» No joke, that is a direct quote. This lady felt like she knew as much about teeth as a dentist and she wouldn’t stop trying to give me «advice.» Not professional.
2. The whole process of teeth cleaning and 1 filling took 3.5 hours. I got in at 8am, was seen at 9am and got out of there at 11:30. Parsi attends to MULTIPLE patients at once. All basically in one room. I wouldn’t have signed up for teeth cleaning here if I knew it would take this long.
3. The dental assistant took 24 x-​rays of my teeth. I counted them all. Most offices will take ~5 pictures but this lady kept messing up. It is known that annual x-​rays can cause brain tumor growths such as acoustic neuroma. I just had 5 years worth of x-​rays done on me in 15 minutes. Thanks.
Even though this place has 5 stars on Unilocal.I STRONGLY URGE you to keep looking, or at least be aware of how poorly they treat patients. Parsi is very good at telling people they need more treatment without making you question yourself. However, I think she went too far this time. She was obviously lying because both of her dental assistants contradicted her. I cannot wait to hear her excuse.

«1. None of dental assistants are allowed to diagnose any cavities or dental treatment» — Then maybe you should tell them not to diagnose cavities? Also, why would there be 1 cavity listed on the sheet when you told me I had 3? Why did you wait until after I expressed hesitation on pulling both wisdom teeth to tell me «they actually have cavities on them»?
Also, the front desk lady did in fact tell me to take out my wisdom teeth because it was gods will. I know what I heard and would not make up something like that.
She also decided to mention that I am «hard to please» if you look at my previous Unilocal comments. I only think its worth to post on Unilocal if I extremely like, or if i really dont like a place. Way to be professional.
I am sincerely convinced this dr is a liar. I am just so thankful that I didn’t have further treatment with her.

Let me start off by saying this is the first dentist I’ve been to since moving here from Louisiana and being on my own insurance rather than my parents. Needless to say this is all new to me and I was nervous about seeing a new dentist in a new state.
Dr. Parsi and her staff are so nice and welcoming. I immediately felt the positive female energy as I walked into the place.
She fixed my sensitive teeth as well as whitened my teeth with Zoom. I didn’t intend on getting my teeth whitened that day but she fit it into her schedule which made me so happy. And they look great! She also suggested some other things I need (Invisalign, etc.) but was not pushy about it at all. Which I loved!
I am so glad that I found Dr. Parsi! I never thought going to the dentist would be such a breeze but that’s how they made it feel. Consider me a loyal client!

OK-​If Unilocal had 100 Stars to choose from that’s what I’d give Dr. Parsi. I HAVE to write another review on behave of my wonderful Dentist.
I’m currently having extensive dental work done and my teeth and gums were not happy with the last attack (dental session) I put them through. I tried to play it off as long as I could in regards to the pain and Dr. Sanaz Parsi has always made it clear from the beginning if I need «anything» just call. However, do I call? No-​I wait until all my false crowns fall out and the pain is now unbearable. I finally call, it’s a Saturday, 6:00pm on Thanksgiving weekend and so of course I think I’ll receive voicemail. Nope, I got JoAnna (the Dental Assistant) on the phone and within twenty minutes Dr. Parsi called me right back. She immediately made an appointment with me and within the hour Dr. Parsi, myself and her date find ourselves in her dental office. Yes-​she postponed her date and brought him along, I couldn’t believe she actually came over to her clinic and put her night out on hold for me. She was completely content coming in and fixing the problem, wasn’t frustrated or annoyed in the slightest. Completely accommodating.
I was incredibly grateful! I couldn’t have asked for anything better. Her presence brings a great deal of calm into the room, I was spinning with anxiety over the whole situation and she reassured me thoroughly what to expect next-​which quieted my nerves tremendously.
I’ve been treated with such kindness and respect at Angeleno Smile. The whole team has been wonderful to work with. Obviously I will be recommending them to anyone in need of a dentist.

Wow! what an amazing doctor and a great human being. Super professional (I could tell before i even opened my mouth from the way she patiently answered all my questions– and i had a lot).
I replaced 8 old filling. She suggested to replace less to save me money, but i wanted to change all, since I had them for 15 years. I did that in 2 sessions and had some pain in the days following the treatment (it’s normal when you do many fillings or have sensitive teeth).
She saw me several times after the procedure to make sure i’m fine and even called in the evening and texted at night to «check on me». I visited many doctors, but never encountered a doctor who cared so much. She even suggested that I call her after hours if the pain increases! (many dentists let patients wait until morning or go to emergency clinics).
Eventually the pain went away (2 Advils per day did the trick), but i will forever be grateful for the personalized care and caring.
Regarding the staff: I told the doctor that seeing how nice and happy her staff was, i could guess that she is a nice person. I believe that her personality guided her to choose staff members who are as caring and charming as she is.

Dr. Parsi is hands down the best dentist I have ever visited. From the moment I walked into her office until the very end of the appointment, she was professional, friendly, and highly skilled. I was very impressed by the level of cleanliness of the office as well. Her staff was also very friendly and welcoming throughout the appointment. I felt very comfortable the entire time.
I went in for a cleaning and in addition to the cleaning, she gave me recommendations on other beneficial dental work /​advice I could consider. I was very thankful for that, as I’ve been looking to improve my smile. Great smiles are very important to Dr. Parsi, and she had some excellent suggestions that I will consider for the future. The cleaning itself was painless and efficient. She was friendly throughout the appointment and I felt completely at ease. Afterwards, my mouth felt amazing! I felt like it had been thoroughly and very professionally cleaned.
If you are looking for an excellent dentist in the West LA area, Dr. Parsi is your dentist! If I could give her 10 stars, I definitely would!
