I’m not sure why the bad reviews… I arrived here expecting — not much — but left with a huge appreciation of the great food and service! I’m a huge fan of Honda Ya in Little Tokyo, and seeing that this place had the same type of Japanese food… sashimi, yakitori, cooked fish(like Yellow Tail Collar), etc, I was keen to give it a try. It exceeded my expectations. Seriously good food. It’s also an Izakaya-styled restaurant(like Honda Ya)… great Saki, relaxing atmosphere… wonderful. I suggest you give it a try. The wait staff was friendly and helpful. Great place.

Came in late last night with a group of friends(about 10 of us) for a bite to eat. Got a table right away. Service was a little slow at first but loved the music while waiting to take our orders. Once we placed our orders the food came out pretty quickly. I had the dynamite roll with soy paper and it was delish. Everyone seemed to like their food as well. Definitely coming back!

Food is good, salad is fresh and service is attentive. Lunch specials are great, so is their sashimi, always of good quality.

All of yummy!

First time ever ordering here, bill came out to 32 odd dollars but that couldn’t even pay for what came next. Food poisoning and dizzy spells. I ordered the dynamite roll. SHISTO peppers BIMBAP, map and that was enough to send my stomach into shock. would never eat here again even if it was the last place on earth, the owner didn’t even care about MY well being. Money lost and I still feel sickend by this place ewwww three stinky toes down won’t be eating here or any japanese food ever again. Bad food handling and horrible customer service. I want my stomach & my money back. I would call health department If your considering eating here just to make sure they’re up to par.

I have come here dozens of times in the 4 years I lived in the area and they are always on point with their food. I recently moved out of the area and truly miss coming here regularly. The environment is casual and cozy, and the staff is friendly, it’s also open later too! As for the food, I have had almost everything on the menu and I cant think of one item that isn’t made perfectly. I have never had to send anything back and have never been sick. Best Salmon Sashimi I have ever had, and I am a bit picky with sashimi!!! I got it almost every time I came as well as the Mochi Cheese and Short Rib. Also the Butter Fish is great if you haven’t had it This is a well overdue review!!!

Truffle sushi roll and the clay pot bulkoki with egg are my picks for food. Drinks– sake and beer! great little atmosphere, i really like it here for hanging out casual drinks.

I had a great experience at Miro’s Sake house last night. The scallop, chicken, and shiitake mushrooms were my favorite yakitori. What I enjoyed most was the ambience and the friendly atmosphere of the restaurant. The d.j. played hip hop tunes from the 90’s that reminded me of my youth. Cool spot.

OK sooooo, the food at sake houses is just not that good, which is sad cuz they got a lotta locations so I would like to really like this place just based on the convenience. and I’d have to say that aside from their happy hr menu(which is actually very reasonable but not too many options), their regular food prices are too expensive for the quality/portion/taste(subpar at best) so I never order from their regular menu anymore if I happen to be any of their locations.

We only came in for late night sake on our way through the neighborhood bars. Holy cow, the large sake could take down a sumo wrestler. We sat at the bar and the place is a lot of fun, very high energy. We will definitely be coming back until the day that they put our pictures on the wall and ban us from returning.

What a huge disappointment. I’ve been wanting to try it for a while. In a nutshell, it was mediocre at its best. It’s the kind of sushi you can get at an all you can eat buffet for much less money. There were only about six people in the entire place. Two waitresses. It was super hard to get their attention before, during, and after the meal. Never came to check on things. Really bad service. Didn’t care. I actually had to go up to them and ask if we could order after we’d been sitting at the table for about ten minutes. Speaking of tables, they are very small and unstable. They are supposed to seat four, but even for two people, they aren’t very comfortable. I ordered the Yuzu salad. $ 14.95. It had tuna and albacore sashimi in it. It was drenched in dressing. I couldn’t tell the difference in the soggy, warm sashimi. It had no flavor other than the dressing. See the pic. It tasted like it looked. My friend had some basic sushi and a roll. Same story, very bland. The sushi and sashimi were all warm and soggy. Not a good texture for such food. To top it off, we ordered some shitake mushroom tapas. We never got them. The waitress who recommended them to us never put in the order. They didn’t even apologize for it. One and wished I’d never done for this place. It was so bad, I had to go to Rascal next door and order another dinner to have at least one good dining experience that evening.

Eww eww I took my friend there for sushi on a Saturday night. Poor thing got so sick from the sushi.(I guess because their kitchen is so gross by the look of it) We were there late and the owner was there partying with some people. Well… One of the guys that was at the owner’s table tried to sell me cocaine and the wife of the guy was stripping down. Seriously! I saw her boobs and butt. I thought I was going to a restaurant not a nasty strip club full of drugs and trashy looking strippers! Never again! Bad food and warm beer!

This place has been our go to late night sushi spot for YEARSSS. The fish is always fresh, the service is always friendly, and it has a great crowd/ambiance/music selection. My go tos are the garlic butter albacore sushi, salmon belly skewer, agadashi tofu, sashimi salad, unagi hand roll and tiger roll with cream cheese. Parking can be an issue for some but we’ve always been blessed with good parking juju lol

Authentic Japanese cuisine. Small restaurant but fun atmosphere with lots of culture. Ordered quite a few different dishes. The tomato and chile peppers were delicious. The steak skewer was so tender and nicely marinated. Highly recommend trying the albacore garlic sushi, which is soooooo good. I was not the biggest fan of their sushi roll selection as there was too many items with imitation crab which I’m not a big fan of. If you’re looking for a sushi restaurant I wouldn’t recommend this place… but if you’re looking for a Japanese restaurant that has lots of warm cooked dishes in a fun environment, this is the perfect place to go.

Eating a Sake House is like getting a warm hug, from a good friend, after a very long, hard day. That place just feels good. From the moment you walk on you are greater with warm welcomes from the staff. Cool tunes are playing through the speakers, and the windows are slung open to remind you it’s summer. It’s a small space that manages to feel warm instead of cramped. Everyone is pretty much within elbow distance, but one cares. It’s like a well curated dinner party, that you bring your credit card to. I had the plum wine over ice because it was a warm night and I wanted a cool drink. The yellow tail and truffle oil roll, as well as the salmon skin roll. It was just divine. Great presentation, great tastes and great service. I must say I got food envy over the fried rice that the waiter stirs at your table in a sizzling bowl, and I’ll be getting that next time for sure. This is a five star establishment top to bottom. We are so fortunate to have this Mid City gem.

Sake House is one of my reliable go-to sushi restaurants around the area. This place servers authentic japanese food and the service is always warm and welcoming. salmon yuzu fish– A smaller portioned of salmon with a light yuzu creamy sauce. With every bite, you get a strong yuzu(citrus) tang. It’s different and I like it. Butterfish– Can you ever go wrong with butterfish? Butterfish is literally a piece of fish that just melts in your mouth every time you eat it. The edges are crisped and compliments the soft texture of the fish. yuzu salad– a nice assortment of sashimi served over a bed of green and drizzled with a tangy citrus yuzu dressing. Delicious! salmon sashimi– great pieces of salmon sashimi. It was really fresh and the salmon slices were cut perfectly; not too large nor too thin. Bön apetit! I could keep going on about each and every dish, but I promise you that everything on the menu is quite delicious. Thank you for an always great experience.

This place is a wonderful hole in the wall in the mid-wilshire area. Don’t let its tiny size fool you… This place packs a BIG punch! Starting from the portion sizes. When you order sashimi you get very thick slices… and plenty of them. Their skewers are good. The chicken liver is fantastic and so is the chicken meat skewer. I really like their yellowtail truffle lemon roll. Packed with flavors you wouldn’t expect to find together that get along beautifully to create an explosion of flavor in your mouth. The service here is extremely good. Very attentive and quick. Always smile at every single request and seem enthusiastic even though it’s 10 minutes before their midnight closing time on a Sunday and you’re the only people left there. Definitely recommend.

Such a great place! We ordered: Spicy miso ramen, Takoyaki, Beef Short Rib Skewers, California Rolls, and a large Sapporo. The total came out to $ 43 It was all delicious!!! The ambience is cute and cozy. The servers are very attentive and friendly. There is a DJ on Saturday nights. Open late. Street parking can be tricky, so walk if you live close by. SO happy to have an authentic Japanese place within walking distance of my house! Highly recommended!
