Rusty Mullet

Pretty cool theme and vibe, although not very crowded for a Saturday afternoon. Drinks were not super cheap as advertised but nonetheless, no biggie. Cool open air seating allows good people watching on the Strip, mellow hang out, would do again, need to try these pulled pork fries I’ve now read so much about.

I’ve been here twice. I usually bring dates here because it’s local and it has a good vibe. You can get food or drinks depending on the time or if you have an appetite. And it has a good volume-​not too loud but loud enough for you to talk in private without eavesdroppers. My only problem is that it is really expensive. But I guess that’s to be expected for the location. Although I don’t care about that because I live in the area.

Went here a second time. This time we had a server which was really nice and helpful. Played beer pong all night and met a lot of nice people.

I went here like last week and I was really bothered of the server named Corrina. She must be new. Someone mentioned she used the restroom and did not wash her hands and the rest of the time she was just standing bored. We actually had to go out of our way to ask her for our drinks, and our check meanwhile she was just standing there.

The name says it all! It’s alright, if you like the Hollywood Blvd scene you probably my be disappointed here. Interesting vibe inside, personally not my thing.

This place gets one star for the theme. This place is dirty, beyond awful service, and watered down drinks keep walking if you can.
So we decided to give this place another shot in our bar crawl, after the health department shut them down not too long ago for cockroaches. A couple of our friends work in the area so we thought why not make a pit stop. Bad idea our night didn’t disappoint. Hollywood! The girls who work here are always drunk, first time we came here in awhile and the girls were wasted per usual. It took them 40 mins to get us our drinks which were SHOTS. How do you mess up pouring shots? We ordered Patron for all of us (waitress included) and it tasted like cheap tequila and when we complained about it we were brushed off. the manger was «too busy» to deal with us or so we were told. The crowd got pretty ghetto and aggressive so we left.
The highlight of our adventure in Hollywood was we did meet two really cool girls here and they were 19 and 20. This place is a joke! I am a bartender here is LA and all I can say is I have no idea how they can afford to keep the doors open with all of the liabilities we witnessed first hand. If I was the GM here I would fire half the staff, but from talking with my buddies who frequent this place he’s usually intoxicated and buying them drinks.
Please save your money and go to Cabo! At least you know what you are ordering.

Robin Williamson is an absolutely awesome bartender! She was professional, accurate, showed hustle and excellent customer service. It was my first time in and will definitely be back hoping she is a reflection of the the rest of the staff!

Nice chill atmosphere. Cheap bud and bud light. The pulled pork fries are pretty dang amazing. Smaller place so it could be crowded during peak times but the open windows keep it nice and vented.

Delicious! It was a great place to eat and rest after enjoying Hollywood Blvd. I had the buffalo chicken wrap and my brother had the stuffed chicken burger. Bill was $ 30.00. Food was great and a fun place to sit by the open window and enjoy the breeze.

this place is corner of street and good to hang out to talk with friends and drink is not expensive and chicken bbq is great if u hungry i like to chill out here for relax, drink little alcohol and talk with friends.

The security upfront were very friendly and down to earth. Crowded loud bar, which I guess is what I should except. However, it was too loud I couldn’t hear my friend and we pretty much didn’t even converse. Whatever. Not a problem. We had only stepped in Rusty Mullet because Cabo Cantina had too long of a line to even get in. I had a ceasar salad here which I rate a 9 out of 10. It was delicious actually. It took us about 10 mins to find assistance to order eventually I had to get up and ask the security who or where I can find a server. Once we finally got assistance the girl was friendly. Drinks were good. I’d probably come again for a quick drink and snack. Otherwise, I don’t think it’s somewhere I’d spend my valuable Saturday night in.

This is such a good spot to sit and and enjoy good drinks and food and do some quality people watching in the heart of Hollywood.
The staff is good about explaining the specials and recommending food. Definitely get a burger or sandwich if you’re hungry. Also a good spot to catch some games on TV in the evening or weekends.

My husband and I decided to give this place a shot last Sunday in the late afternoon. The ambiance was hip, casual, and loud. It reminded me of a ghetto version of Hooters.
Also, being in the location that it is, you would think that the staff and other patrons would be more welcoming to LGBT customers. My husband and I got stares and chuckles from a group sitting next to us, and it almost made us get up and leave. We were not showing PDA or anything, just enjoying the music and each other’s company. Our waitress was less than thrilled to serve us (based on her facial expressions and tone with us) and gave us as minimal service as she could.
If you are looking for a happy hour… find some place else to go. $ 5 for ANY shot in hardly a happy hour.
The food was awesome though. I would probably order the pulled pork cheese fries again in the future (cause they were so damn good) but only to-​go.

This bar is just as fun as the name. In the day time it’s a great place to get drinks. In the evening it’s a bit of a wait list to get in regardless of what night. Live DJ. Decent friendly bouncer and fun people. Dress code enforced. Prices are okay.

Wish it was bigger, music is good, always a good time here, drinks are reasonable, love the bucket mix drinks they offer, it will do the job if you’re looking for a good buzz, you can go bar hoping if you want to leave other bars near by, but this one is more for dancing and hanging out, rather than just sitting down, can get messy, too crouded at times, drinks spilling everywhere, alot of pushing trying to get to the bar, can get frustrating but if you get a table you’ll avoid all this and have a blast. More of a younger crowd.

Great dive bar for anyone who is business in the front and party in the back. This is a gem of a locals bar. This places has draft beers for $ 7 and a killer happy hour of buy one and get one for $ 1. There is $ 5 shots all day. Large tvs and open air seating. A great place to people watch and be watched by people. There are a ton of quirky sayings on the walls and by the staff. Have fun and cheers!

I like this place because you can get two tall PBR cans for $ 8 during their promotion hours and they last you a good while. The music is alright, nothing to brag about anyway.
Some nice ass walks in and out of the bar sometimes. Oh how I love American chicks. :)
The bouncers are pretty easy going also.

Just a few hundred yards up from the Chinese Theatre, Rusty Mullet is the perfect place to grab a pint and take a break from the thousands of tourists taking pictures of the ground.
We were shocked about how quiet it was despite it’s location — we walked in and got some prime people watching seats without any hassle.
I found the robotic waiting staff a bit on the weird side — it was almost as if they were scripted — In fact I asked them if I could borrow a phone charger and the girl almost went in to melt down.
Anyway, like I said a good it stop of you want a break on your trip down Hollywood Blvd but you’ll probably only want to stay for one.

Ah, the elusive 3 star review. this bar definitely earns it! I’ve been to the Rusty Mullet twice simply because it’s located right about the point in the Hollywood star walk where the area becomes a little more sketch and you wanna turn around, but have a drink first. Ha!
The inside décor is very clean and shiny, despite its seeming effort to be dirty and white trashy. It may be a little cheap-​looking. They play southern rock on the speakers and old Coolio videos on mute on the tv screens. Yeah, I don’t get it. But the well drinks are cheap and they have 2 for 1 deals that no one can complain about.
It’s a good vantage point to people watch all the tourists reading the ground as they navigate poorly down the sidewalk. The servers here seem like they’d rather be somewhere else, like grounded teenagers. But they’re nice enough. And I can’t blame them. This isn’t a bad stop, but I couldn’t imagine hanging out here.
