I am not sure how can this place has so many positive reviews. As a trade professional I was looking for a place closer to my projects. I usually shop in Anaheim, but wanted to find a reputable place in LA. This is not the place. The tile I was quoted $ 3.45 in Anaheim they quoted $ 7.50. The locally made tile by Arto that I was quoted at Pennsylvania Builders for $ 14.50, they quoted $ 35.00 (more then what company has for retail in their catalogue $ 26.00). Just a shameless rip off.
The owner is OK, but his son is rude, loud, obnoxious and unprofessional. The whole place is messy. The only positive at this store are the girls who work there– they were surprisingly helpful and nice.
Would not go there again.

I have had a very hard time picking out my back splash for my kitchen. I had to come back and forth about 5 times before getting it right. Alma was a HUGE help. She was there every time I needed her and gave me samples to go home and test until I found what I wanted. Great service, great selection of product! Love this store!

Royal Stone has a great selection of tiles and Rodney was super helpful in creating our dream bathroom. He listened to our needs and suggested styles that we wouldn’t have found on our own. I love the quality of their products and appreciate their consistent delivery times. We love the clean and modern look of our bathroom tiles and will definitely use Royal Stone again!

I recently bought tiles for my bathroom floor and looked everywhere before finding just what I wanted at Royal Tile. And they were very helpful, too, with choosing the right style and color. My only concern was that I couldn’t return any unopened items but as they gave me the right amount of materials for the job, it wasn’t an issue. The prices may be higher than the big box stores but the service and selection were much better — and I’m a big fan of the big box stores!

I have been all over the city for various home renovations and no one has better service or quality products for the price. Rodney went above and beyond to help me find exactly what I wanted for my counters and even helped me find the best installer for the job. He and his Dad also helped me find a great tile that is an exact match for the wood I am installing. I will never shop anywhere else for marble or tile! They are the best!

This well stocked tile and marble showroom carries high quality tile from all over the world including italy and Isreal. It is a family business, father and sons and i have been quite pleased having bought from them twice for 2 different projects. When they say they will order and get the tiles in — they do.
I have not had to wait longer than promised and they have always been polite and given me professional advice. They also have big slabs of granite and marble in a side yard to choose from.

Their service is not what they claimed. I walked in and no one greeted me nor offered to help. Mind you, it was just me and one other customer with five workers. After I requested help, the girl is useless in her knowledge, showing me what I already have seen on display. She doesn’t know the origin, specs, and cost.
What’s worse was the old man and the owner. They were abrupt and ill-​mannered in how they communicated.
The only pro is their displays. The tiles are placed on large sheets hung, making it easy to view.

A new renovation for my home has never been so easy! I’ve been to many tile and stone business and by far Royal stone has been the best! Rodney and Jacob are very helpful and knowledgeable about what they sell! The staff are amazing and friendly. Royal stone had everything I needed for my project! I bought everything in one place which saved me a lot of time and money! Thank you royal stone and to the staff, I recommend for anyone to come in and make business here. I’m sure I’ll be coming back soon for my future project!

I went here today and they didn’t have much of a selection of natural stone. (I’m planning on using that for a fireplace makeover.) The man who helped me showed me a couple selections and I asked if that was all they had. He got a little defensive about this as though I was criticizing his store. I assured him that was not the case and that I only wanted to be sure I saw everything. He showed me other options, but they were not what I was looking for. I wouldn’t say this place is terrible, but there are better places with better selections. (Bourget Bros in Santa Monica for instance.)

I would give it no stars if I had the option. The worst customer service ever!!! I called to check if they had an item in stock and they guy was so lazy. He was explaining to me how long it is going to take to go to the back and get the item and I had to wait a few days until he can do it. The time it took for him to explain why he couldn’t check, it would have been done.
What the heck? Is this a business? Such poor customer service.

Horrible customer service. I came here because my contractor recommended them. The father & son owners are extremely rude. The girls who work for them know nothing about the products, their prices, or even their hours. Get everything in writing because their prices change by the minute. One minute someone will give you a price, and the next minute the dad will try to charge you more and say they were wrong. This happened to me on several occasions. The last time I went back to purchase something, they tried to pass off a different product as what I wanted. They claimed both products were the same. Stay away and save yourself some frustration!

I agree with the other poster, entering that place as a woman alone is a red flag for them to be dismissive and rude! Uninterested, opinionated and very defensive about their tile selection — I’ve placed my order with Classic Tile in Santa Monica who were the only ones who had the right tile and the right customer service. Go elsewhere!

I’m quite surprised by all of the positive reviews. First of all, the customer service is very poor. I walked in and nobody asked if I needed help. The guy who I presume is the owner was very cold and unwelcoming. When I found the one other worker on the floor to show me some tiles, the owner told him to go grab tiles for someone else. Great, thanks.
I’ve gone to about 5 tiles places now, and Royal Stone has one of the smallest selections and definitely the worst display. The prices are in the mid-​to-​high range as well. If you can get to Gardena, I recommend checking out Tile & Marble Galaxy.

This business was horrible. I came in with a need to replace granite tiles on a patio set and was summarily dismissed. I was told I should just throw away the set (I don’t think so considering how it is a $ 5,000 set of furniture). They immediately thought they knew everything about the circumstances which was impossible given how they asked no questions. The only helpful person there was a customer/​contractor. As a woman, I was also offended by not only their attitude but their indication that they had already explained everything to my husband. (Impossible since last time I checked, I am not married. And a husband in the picture might come as a shock to my boyfriend…)
I am planning a massive renovation to my home including a kitchen remodel and multiple bathrooms and I can promise they will NOT be on my approved vendor list.

The ONLY place in LA or the Valley that had the exact white hexagon tile in stock. They said their clients are mostly high-​end designers, and after visiting four tile stores in LA or the SFV, I could tell by their showroom– gorgeous! I wish I knew about this place when I was searching for the white carrera for my island countertop. Next time!

1.12.11 Went back to Royal Stone to pay for my granite and reserve 3 pieces. Good thing I came back! They had sold all the other pieces of the type I picked.
I noticed that the colors were somewhat darker on the other pieces. David told me that it’s because when the granite comes out of the ground, it’s still wet. The piece I picked had been sitting in the sun and had dried out, so it was a lighter color. David said I can leave the granite in his yard as long as I want, before shipping it down to Carlsbad. He’ll make sure it stays out in the sun so the three pieces are the same color.
5 stars merited! Everything about this store, the staff, the choices, gets 5 stars. It’s not a very big yard but they have an excellent variety.
