Roxys Doggy Day Care & Boarding

Do not use this business, I REPEAT DO NOT USE THIS BUSINESS IF YOU LOVE YOUR ANIMAL.
When I worked in Downtown I had her doggie sit for me twice. Both times my dog came back with kennel cough. More importantly this business is under investigation for repeated credit card fraud taking advantage of their customers. They have been storing credit card info on their customers (myself included) and have been charging random amounts every few months hoping to get away with it. I found out months later and am currently dealing with this problem. This business had zero reason to have my CC info stored as I swiped and never gave the my info. They must have written it down or used cameras to get the info as Square informed me every fraudulent transaction was keyed in.
I have never felt so taken advantage of in my life, how could she treat her customers this way!

I was happy in the beginning but refund wise I don’t know what you’re talking about because I called 2 – 3 times you said you forgot and said the next day next day and I was patient. So I would go online to my online banking because I didn’t want to pester you. And in the end never received anything. So that was kind of uh… Ok. I haven’t been there since because of our last incedent together. It’s water over the dam it’s been a year or so since I haven’t been back so at this point no worries. Thank you for your offer maybe I will take next time when I need but as of right now I found other options for my babies. Take care!

Since I adopted my 1-​year old jack/​rat terrier, we’ve been going to Kathleen and Roxy’s. Her team is great and they’re accommodating and genuinely love dogs. My dog Giblet loves to go, and will literally pull me across the parking lot. Sometimes he’ll get too amped and excitable after say an overnight stay, but the upside is that he then sleeps like a little zombie :)

I take our dog ‘Chica’ to Kathleen on a fairly frequent basis. I travel a bit and Kathleen and her staff are always accommodating.
I’ve noticed on more recent visits that Chica actually gets excited as we turn into the parking lot and get closer to Roxy’s. The last visit she literally jumped out of the car and I had to hold her back from trying to go meet new friends inside Roxy’s.
Chica’s been visiting there now for a couple of years. And I wouldn’t recommend anyone more to watch her while away…

I created a Unilocal account literally just to write this review. I just moved to LA from New York with my dog and was looking for a full service dog facility — doggie day care, boarding, walks. Kathleen and the rest of the team have been fantastic. The customer service is remarkable. They go above and beyond to make sure my pup is totally taken care of. I do not know what I would have done without Roxy’s. Could not recommend more highly.

Really love Roxy’s — Kathleen and all of her staff are very welcoming and helpful! My pup was nervous about the change but now goes tearing in each morning and is so happy to see her friends at Roxy’s. They also keep food for my dog so if she’s there late in the day, she gets fed, which is a huge plus… and they don’t charge extra for it! Given the proximity to my office, the affordable monthly package and to see how happy my pup is each day makes this choice a no brainer.

As someone who has a dog but is out 10+ hours during weekdays, I am always worrying about my dog being lonely or worse having an accident. I had been hesitant to hire a dog walker because I was unsure if I could trust someone with my house keys. However, Kathleen has proved to be very dependable and trustworthy, and I can rest easy at work knowing that my girl is being walked and given attention while I am gone. Kathleen is great and she truly enjoys her job and loves dogs. I’m glad I found her and I am glad she is my dog walker (and my dog is too!!)!!

My dogs love Roxy’s and if they love it, I love it.

I’ve used a couple of other boarding places before, including k9 lofts, and Charlie always comes back seeming traumatized. The last time she came back with scabs from anxious scratching and a terrible cough. I’ve been worried to leave her behind ever since. But I had no choice this time.
But when I went to pick Charlie up and she was grinning ear to ear. She didn’t even seem like she wanted to go home. She was a happy puppy and that left me a happy pappa. Thank you thank you thank you!

This team really cares. They go above and beyond (mostly beyond) to make sure you and your dogs are well taken care of. My dogs were wreaking havoc while I was at work, pee, poop, overall destruction. My lab is 14 and needed someone to look after her while I was away and my Shepherd was a rescue so he was tough to handle. These guys took them in and gave them a home away from home and for that I am forever in their gratitude.

Athena, my 1 year old Pitbull is currently going to Roxy’s Doggy Day Care and I have to say I am so happy I brought her here!
She was very shy and honestly a bit aggressive with other dogs but ever since she started coming to Roxy’s she’s more friendly! She went from being antisocial to wanting to play with any pup! I am also surprised that they were so welcoming of her. I mean you say aggressive Pitbull and most people will run the other way. Kathleen and her staff are great! Very honest people and definitely understanding. Athena has gone through a major break through. And I plan on bringing Athena here for a while

I don’t write reviews often. I have to be extremely happy with a company to take the time to write one and this is one of those times.
I brought my dog to Roxys and couldn’t have been happier with the care they gave my baby! Everyone was very affectionate with her and obvious dog lovers. What made me so sure that they really were good with her, was when I brought her back the second time and she was soooo crazy excited to be back!

My baby is a 2-​yr-​old pointer mix. Very energetic, sweet and definitely a smarty pants. He was doing well at daycare when we lived in Indy and when he stayed in San Jose. Then we moved to LA. I took him to a daycare near downtown where his character wasn’t appreciated. He came home with 2 wounds in the first 2 weeks and he was being blamed as the trouble maker. I had to be lectured everyday when I picked him up after a long day at work. Then I found Roxy’s. Kathleen is very responsive and knows how to handle Soleil. Even though it’s a bit out of my commute, I feel at ease when I leave him there. He runs for Kathleen when I dropped him off in the morning. He didn’t do that at the other place. I am glad my son has a safe place to chill and have fun under the care of Kathleen and her staff.

After visiting competing day care facilities in the area, we decided to leave our chihuahua mix puppy in the capable hands of Kathleen (the owner) and her staff so that he could get socialized and use up all that energy (that would otherwise turn into destructive behaviour)
PROS
— Kathleen went over possible behaviour changes to expect and I feel she explained the reasons in a way that made us understand a bit more about dog behaviour
— Compared to (higher priced) competitors we chose Roxy’s because their customer service just felt more genuine, while other places give the impression that they don’t really need any more customers
— Our dog seemed nervous the first two times but (relying on Kathleen’s expertise) we carried on with the plan and after the 2^nd visit we noticed that he wasn’t barking as much at home and after the 3^rd visit he actually got excited when we pulled into the parking long

— I can’t think of any, but IF I could change something it would be the fact that at certain times most of the parking lot is taken up by patrons going to the restaurant next door
CONCLUSION
I’ve already started seeing the first positive changes in our puppy’s behaviour and have already recommended this place to a friend who will be moving in the area soon

SWITCH TO KEEPING GOLD FISH AS PETS AND GIVE YOUR DOG TO SOMEONE WHO DOESN’T MIND THE BARKING

I’ve been a customer at Roxys for about 6 months now. My dog absolutely loves going there and if I keep him home, even for a day, he sits by the door and wants to be with his friends at Roxys. I work from home and there have been days when i’m too busy to run him over and drop him off and the owner Kathleen has offered to come by and pick him up. I went on vacation a few months back and had a situation arise where I needed Kathleen, the owner, to come to my house and pick up my dog for a few days of boarding. I had already departed for the airport so I left a key for her to get into my apartment and pick up Charley and all his over night stuff, Kathleen then dropped him off back at my place a few days later, an hour before my flight was due back. Door to door, now that is great service, she helped me when I was in a bind and besides that I trust her with a key to my house! My dog Charley is happier and more socialized now that he goes to Roxys and he always comes home exhausted from getting to play all day. I really do feel that the people that work there care about the dogs and have a bond with them and would only want the best for them. Parking is easy, you can almost always pull up right out front and I have found the rates to be very competitive.

Please DO NOT bring your dog here. When I was approaching the place to pick up my dog, I heard the owner scream shut the f up! To all the dogs. When i get my dog back, he was shaking uncontrollably. I never seen him act this way and it took him about 4 days to act normal because he was so traumatized. I felt horrible that I left my dog here. Honestly, I don’t know how people like her can get away with running a business.
This is my 2^nd 1 star review. I never really care to take the time to write a bad review but my experience here was so horrible and frustrating that this review is a must. So, I hope this review can prevent any future decisions on considering bring your dog here.
Ps– my first bad review that I wrote, the business went out of business the following month.

I had scheduled boarding for my little girl on Memorial Day weekend. Generally I would have gone to check the facility before booking there but since it was referred by Bark Ave., her previous daycare/​boarding provider, and we anticipated seeing some of their old employees, we didn’t think twice about booking with Roxy’s.
On Saturday morning we went to Roxy’s. Our experience was very much the same as the one posted by Bella B. I walked in the door and the explosion of barking began. Yeah, I get it, I walked in and disrupted the order of the space and the dogs were responding but the acoustics were terrible so the sound was deafening. There was nobody at the front counter, nor in the area with the dogs. I waited for several minutes (probably 3) before someone came out of the back to help us. During this time there was no drop in the noise level. During this time my normally VERY chill dog began to howl!
I tried to have a conversation with the guy who worked there but it was almost impossible because the noise level was out of control. He seemed to be completely unaware that Lola was scheduled to stay with them. I mentioned that she was also supposed to have grooming and he said the groomer was on the way. I pointed out that grooming today wasn’t idea because she was also spending the night (which I had told him earlier) and she’d get dirty between now and tomorrow while playing with the other dog. His response? Oh well we can crate her! «For 24 houea??» I asked, and he just shrugged.
I couldn’t even have imagined in that noise trying to explain her feeding and medication instructions. I was also concerned because when we walked in there wasn’t anybody observing the dogs (the guy was in the back room). Even when all the dogs started barking it took several minutes for him to come out. If some of the dogs got in a scuffle or there was some other issue he wouldn’t have been there to stop it.
Obviously we left. I was very lucky to have found a space at another facility that would take her, but I was more than prepared to cancel my trip to Palm Springs if it had been necessary because there was no way I was going to leave my dog in that environment. It’s too bad because my dog really loved Leo and Walter (who worked at Bark Avenue), and I understand they are both working there. I really wanted Roxy’s to work out so my girl would have continuity with her care but there’s just no way.

I’ve been bringing my little pooch here on a daily basis for about the last 8 months and we couldn’t be happier. The prices at the other doggy day care places are off the charts expensive and we don’t feel comfortable leaving our little guy in apartment all day long. He has his friends here and is always happy to be dropped off in the morning.
Kathleen truly enjoys working with animals and it shows. As a new dog owner, she has given us tips and kept us well informed of his behavior during the day. I would recommend Roxys Doggy Day Care to anyone. Kathleen would be responsive to any and all concerns.

The owner was nice but the place was dirty my dog when I picked her up smelled like she slept in dog pee. She behaved very strange and I must say it took a week for her to get back to her normal doggy self.

I’ve been bringing my dogs to Roxy’s for over a year now. My furbabies have been to other daycares on the westside, but nothing beats Roxy’s.
Kathleen is a very professional, trained vet tech who really understands dogs. She loves dogs and develops individual relationships with each of the dogs. One of my dogs never barked before going to Roxy’s and has finally found her voice.
Roxy’s is also the cleanest doggy daycare we’ve been to. There were a couple in our old neighborhood where my dogs came home reeking of pee, but that’s never been an issue at Roxy’s. She keeps that place super clean.
It’s a really good feeling to know my dogs are happy and cared for while at daycare. There are days when neither of them want to leave and I have to drag them out of there.
Due to personal circumstances, I’ve also had to board my dogs there a few times with little notice. Kathleen really makes an effort to be accommodating of schedule changes and has never made me feel bad about it. She’s really a great business woman.
I highly recommend Roxy’s to anyone looking to daycare or board their dogs.
